The transaction itself in Jan 2015 went smoothly: I phoned Aladdin after my folks had aluminum railings installed (also reviewed here on AL) to repair wrought iron railings on a house I had just purchased. Gerry came out, estimated the repairs, and I gave a deposit. The work was done a few days later on Jan 19, 2015 and I paid the balance due. In summer 2015, I sanded and primed the railings in preparation for painting them and this got interrupted by work I had done on the cement stairs and foundation. The painting of the railings never occurred in 2015 and this spring I noticed the split/crack in the handrail reappeared and needed to again be welded. I first contacted Aladdin here through AL and got no reply. I then emailed Aladdin and got no reply, using the same email address I had used a year ago and the same one listed on the company's website. I phoned the company about three weeks ago (on May 2, 2016) and got Barbara on the phone. I told her the issue and that I'd gotten no reply. Apparently my email went into her spam folder and I later sent her a photo of the split handrail. She said she'd relay the information to Gerry and he'd come out and look at the damage (I didn't need to be there) and estimate the work. I then got an email saying that Aladdin wanted me to contact directly the man who did the welding (they gave me his phone number). I replied to the email asking fi this was typical or appropriate, since the transaction was conducted through Aladdin, not with the contractor directly. I got no reply, so I *did* contact the contractor because I want(ed) the repair done. He was as surprised as I was to find that Aladdin had me call him directly. He said he'd check with Aladdin about arrangements and get back to me. He was recovering from the flu and said he'd get back to me asap. I hadn't heard from the contractor, so decided to contact (email) Aladdin again...no reply. I then phoned the company Saturday May 21, 2016 just after noon and they were closed but had voice mail. I left a message asking for a reply and for information regarding the status of things: had the contractor called Aladdin and when was my repair to be done. I mentioned that I had gotten no replies and felt a bit "slighted"; perhaps because this was not a large job. I reminded the company of my prior business and that of my parents---we are repeat customers. I received a reply today by email (May 25, 2016), curtly saying the following: that Aladdin is longer doing the welding part now that the contractor is semi retired which was the end of April of 2015 . Gerry had spoken with the contractor and gave him my information and told him it would be ok to work directly with you . Aladding said it doeso have someone else who does do welding but he is much more expensive, so thought I'd be better off going with the first contractor. I emailed Aladdin once last time...this evening May 25, 2016 saying that no one every told me this. I was essentially ignored and wasted weeks waiting to schedule a repair that they are now telling me they no longer do. They have lost a customer...several, actually. My folks won't use Aladdin again either nor will my friends. I'm not sure what happened in the past year or so with regard to the company's customer service/courtesy, etc. but I'm simply stunned that the difference between the two transactions I had with the company in Jan 2015 and now trying to communicate with them in May 2016. I will look elsewhere.

They were excellent from beginning to end. I haven't had any issues with the quality.
Description of Work: I replaced all my wooden windows with vinyl windows with Alladin. The old windows were 25 years old, and they came with the house. They were the original windows, so they weren't removable. They had separate storm windows, and they weren't energy effcient. I had them replaced with vinyl windows which had a higher energy efficiency that I could get in a vinyl. We replaced 13 windows.

Description of Work: I had wrought iron railings replaced with aluminum, no-maintenance railings. Aluminum railing is pricey which is why I gave a "B" on price; it's not Aladdin's fault. They did a GREAT job and I do not miss constantly painting railings and/or cleaning rust stains off of the cement foundation. THey're just as strong as the iron ones, too!

Made a terrible mess on the installation. Hand cut the door jamb by hand. Very irregular cut. The door barely opens now.

After buying an old house, we realized quickly that we would need to replace all (30!) windows. Quotes from other local providers were way out of our price range, but friends suggested Aladdin, and we're so glad they did! Incredibly reasonable prices, superb customer service, and on the day of the installation, a small army arrived and replaced every single window in our house in less than 6 hours. They even caught an issue with our roof we hadn't been aware of, and suggested a local contractor to fix it! Wonderful company that's extremely affordable.

Years ago I had the canopies over the front and back doors to the house replaced when the house was vinyl sided from aluminum siding. The new canopies were heavy and were attached solely by a screw in bracket at its base to the house. In recent storms I could hear the canopies catching the wind and bouncing up and down. The front canopy broke off of the house. Aladdin put supports on the one canopy that stayed attached to the house (over the back door) and installed a new, matching canopy to replace the one over the front door that blew off in the storm. They also installed supports there. The supports are really nice: heavy metal bars that mount to the house just below the attachment point/base of the canopy at the house. In the meantime I have a raised ranch with stairs in front and a lot of wrought iron railing which is painted white. Unless I repaint 1-2 times a summer it rusts and the color bleeds through the white and down the cement stairs. It looks awful (also due to corrosion I've had parts replaced over the years to ensure structural support ---Aladdin did not do this repair) and was a real hassle to keep up with. I had all the railing replaced with no-maintenance aluminum railings. I went with the 32 inch (?); newer code requires higher railing but if it's an existing structure you can opt for the shorter so I went with the shorter because it was closer to what I had. The folks at Aladdin were great; I have no explanation for the very negative review posted by the other person who had railings installed. I was informed of the different height railings available, was able to check in on progress, and the railings are straight as an arrow and just as strong as the wrought iron ones. If possible, I will post some photos. I chose a more austere railing style, rather than an ornate scrolling style this time and I like it a lot. Overall, I'm happy with both the canopies and the carefree railings!

They're really good and did a great job. They were very prompt, they were on time, and the quote was great. The job was done satisfactorily and I didn't have to monitor their work. They cleaned up after themselves when the work was finished.

Went great. Installed 12 windows in a little over 2 hours. Fantastic, nice, professional.
Description of Work: Replaced 12 windows in our house. After about a year, the front picture window showed signs of moisture and mold in between the panes of glass. They came and replaced without charge and without hassle. Would gladly use again.

Nightmare.
Description of Work: I had aluminum rails put around stairs leading to the front door. The rails are awful. One side does not match the other. They are so uneven, the rails lean away from the house 2" at the base and a full 4" at the top. I consider it my error that I got the rails 32", but I did not realize that 36" is code and standard and the company assured me and continues to assure me that 32" is standard and says "99% of people get a height of 32" for rails" Called to complain and was told to "live with it for a while" which is just making me more upset. Looking for a reputable company to replace completely.

Aladdin stepped in and finished an awning installation on my house. the original vendor, Professional Awning, took my deposit and disappeared. The manufacturer, Sunesta, stepped in, made another awning for my house and had Aladdin install the awning. I couldn't be happier with the outcome, and am very happy that Sunesta and Aladdin stepped in to do the right thing when others acted so poorly. There was even extra work to make the awning fit properly, and they performed the work without charge.
