 + -1 moreJim called back immediately after my initial contact, and came to assess first thing the next morning. He fixed the mess I made - DIY is not my strength, and I added a second leak through my efforts. Then he took the time to find the original leak - it was a slow leak, and didn't present immediately. He found the problem, ordered the part before he left, came back after the weekend to install. He showed where the old part had deteriorated, and left the part with me. $206.32 in total for two visits, the part and the repair. More than reasonable! On a side note, Jim is a delight to talk to. Friendly, interesting and personable, and that was an added bonus. Tons of experience and extremely trustworthy.

 + -1 moreI contacted Jim, the owner, on a Friday evening. I was pleasantly surprised that he called me that night and told me he'd had a cancellation at 10 Saturday morning. He arrived right on time and quickly diagnosed the problem - the fan in my freezer. He was able to get it started, and gave me the option of rolling the dice and leaving it alone, or replacing it. He had all the needed parts on his truck, so I asked him to replace it. The whole visit was barely 45 minutes and the refrigerator is back to normal. I was charged $75 plus the cost of the fan, which seemed reasonable. I would definitely call him again.
Description of Work: My refrigerator started making odd noises and was losing its cool.

Description of Work: We had a washer that seemed to be a dud from whirlpool. after 3 years, the transmission(or was it something else) went. Jim was very prompt, called when he prompted, very communicative. and very upfront about all costs. he even suggested to call whirlpool and negotiate for a free part since it shouldn't go this easily. I didn't want to delay since people needed to use the machine. but I appreciated his wanting to save money for me. this was about 6 months ago, I didn't have a chance to leave a review due to extended illness, but wanted to make sure I did this for him. the price was including the part, his service cost was around 175. he also came out early on Saturday, didn't charge extra.

 + -1 moreI hesitate to write this negative review because Jim seems like a very nice person. He texted me back immediately even though he was on vacation and arrived right on time shortly after he returned. Over the phone he diagnosed the probable cause of our washing machine malfunction. I asked him to come out anyway to confirm his suspicion and get a cost estimate for repair. HE WAS HERE LESS THAN 5 MINUTES AND CHARGED US $79.76 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC FEE. I was quite surprised he charged us anything at all for what I considered to be just a cost estimate, which, in my experience, most contractors will do for free. I think it would have been more professional of him to charge us for a half hour of labor at most. I will not use his services again. If you choose to do so I'd recommend confirming the cost beforehand.

 + -1 moreA&M are now our go-to repair people--they've fixed our refrigerator (twice), dishwasher and washing machine. The fridge involved a part that had to be ordered, which they did promptly and with no probems. The washing machine was leaving residue and lint on clothes, so it was opened and cleaned. We were advised to use vinegar to regularly clean out the filter. What's wonderful about A&M is that they are pragmatic, honest, and keep costs low by advising you on how to take care of your appliances with inexpensive fixes. They don't push their services or expensive maintenance products. Highly recommended!

 + -1 moreHe did a great job! He was right on time. He charged $69 for coming out. He was very knowledgeable and quickly diagnosed the problem. The washer's off-balance mechanism needed to be adjusted and some other fine tuning needed to be done. He charged another $30 for all his work. It's working great now. He did superb work at a fair price. You could tell he has lots of experience and knows his stuff. Highly recommended.

 + -1 moreWe waited a week for him to call us but when we did call he came out that same day with the part. Unfortunately he found another sensor under that part had also broken. Luckily he did have that sensor in the truck and installed it w/o problems. Long story short, we paid about $240.00 to repair our $500.00 dishwasher. It works great but was a little more expensive than I expected. He did great work though and I would call him again.
Description of Work: Maytag dishwasher was filling and draining without a wash cycle ... tech came in and diagnosed a small part had broken and he would have to order it. Estimate was around $125.00.

 + -1 morethe agitator was not working and I think the transmission needed replacing. The machine is15 years old and it would cost almost as much to fix it as to buy a new one. He offered to call a nearby appliance store which recommended a machine. We were able to purchase it over the phone and it was installed two days later. We are happy with the new machine.

 + -1 moreThe gentleman was prompt within his one hour window for both trips. He was polite, personable and competent. The price was very reasonable for the work as the lions share of the cost was for the part. The panel is sealed so anything wrong requires replacing the whole thing.
Description of Work: Dishwasher would not switch on. Needed a new control panel. (They don't make them like they used to.) He came to my home , determined the problem, ordered the part which was available, made a second trip to my home to install it and did so.

 + -1 moreJames was courteous, professional and very thorough. When he removed the back of the dryer a lot of lint had accumulated there so he also removed that. I waited a month to write the review to make sure there were no further problems with the dryer. The dryer continues to run beautifully and I would definitely call him again if needed.

He diagnosed the issue and was able to perform the repair without needing any parts (door was out of line). Even after the repair was finished, I had a question about the bill and Jim was again very responsive and took the time to explain the charges to my satisfaction. Excellent work!

 + -1 moreI called A&M Saks for a faulty valve on my dishwasher. He gives an hour window for service calls. Each time he came out he got there at the very end of the window but worked quickly, so he was still done by the end of the hour or a little after. His service price was good, the part was costly but that's not his fault. He was neat and professional. He ended up coming out twice -- once to diagnose the problem and order the part and again to do the work a few days later. The dishwasher works great now. I also asked him for a quote for replacing my dryer vent and that seems reasonable. $160 for a long vent with lots of twists and turns. I will probably use him to do it after I recover from the sticker shock of closing on my new house.

 + -1 moreJim showed up on time and targeted the problem immediately as being wiht the thermal coupling in the dishewasher. He had the part on hand wand was able to complete the repaiur in less than an hour for a cost of $153 including parts. He was very professional and answered all my questions. I will definitely recommend them and use them again!
Description of Work: I called a larger company regarding a repair I needed for a dishwasher but was quoted a ridiculous price so I called Jim. I was given a 9AM appointment for Monday instead of a 6 hr window on Tuesday afteroon and quoted a a much more reasonable price or $65 for diagnose instead of $99.

Description of Work: Following my initial call, Jim (the service technician) contacted me within 20 mins to confirm that he would be at our house within 2-3 hrs. He promptly arrived, immediately diagnosed the problem, advised what it would take to fix the problem, gave me an immediate estimate and began solving our issue which as it turned out - was a loose connection causing the frost build up in the freezer and diminished cooling in the refigerator. Jim defrosted the freezer, installed a new connection and fixed the problem in about 30 mins. Jim fully explained the issue, how it probably occurred and fixed the problem. His service and professionalism is excellent. I would recommend Jim's services and will definetly call upon him in the future over any other appliance service /repair technicians. If I could rate Jim as an A++ - I would. (Jim a 30+ year veteran technician - - brings everything you would hope for and more)
