Bottom line up front: Do not hire if you want quality work and to be treated fairly. We hired this company to do some work at a rental property we own in Griswold. The work that was actually completed was done to the bare minimum/poorly (between naps - see picture) and some of the projects were simply ignored. When we got the invoice, it included work that wasn’t completed. When we called them out on it and expressed our disappointment with the finished product, they were full of excuses. And when we told them not to bother completing the remaining items, they sent us an “updated” invoice that included additional falsified manpower hours and unused materials, increasing the amount due significantly. Then Michelle told us we had just over 24 hours to pay the bill or she was going to put a lien on our property. We initially planned to take them to court because we have every disrespectful and outrageous email she sent us, but unfortunately, as an active duty military family serving out of state, it wasn’t worth the added cost. Very disappointed at being threatened and bullied into paying for services that were done poorly, if at all, and we feel that Algiere’s Landscaping took advantage of that fact that we weren’t there to supervise their work.

Great. Michelle took care of setting up the work. The guys came out and did what was promised. Michelle then came back and we added more recurring tasks. We are very pleased with Algiere's Landscaping and highly recommend them.

Went great, Michelle very customer oriented. Steve led onsite team, kept us updated and ensured our desires were being met or exceeded.

Michelle was extremely responsive and very easy to deal with. Professional but not stuffy. Work was done as expected and on time. Completely happy with the new retaining wall. So much more appealing and functional than what was originally there. I will be calling them to rebuild another retaining wall in our back yard and for other landscaping work we plan to get done.

Company is very good. Damage to small items have occurred in plowing services, but once reported, company owner responded quickly and promised repair. Once it is all repaired, I would give this company an A+ rating. Very honest in their pricing and works VERY hard to make sure the customer is happy with the services provided.

I was very happy with the process of working with Algiere's. They quickly provided me with a competitive estimate for the work that I had requested. In addition, they identified some other work that could be performed and provided a separate estimate for completing those tasks. They scheduled my job quickly. In the days leading up to the work, they contacted me to identify some plants that might be appropriate and we quickly settled on a collection. The crew showed up exactly when they were expected and worked diligently to complete the job. When I arrived home, I was very happy with the quality of the work. Later, I spotted one small thing that could be improved and they jumped all over it to ensure that I was happy with the job. Finally, when the final invoice arrived, it was approximately $200 LESS THAN the original estimate. Timely, professional, affordable -- who could ask for more?

At first we were pleased with the beginning services. We soon realized that in order to get the jobs done right, we would have had to be there to oversee each project. i .e., the pavers were put in crooked and had to be redone. All the leaves were not picked up, we had to tell them again and show them where they left the leaves. Still, there are leaves that have not been raked up. We gave up on asking. A major problem was the fence/gate that we wanted put up....it was NOT put up correctly. There was an instruction sheet, plus a large photo of the gate on the box the pieces came in. One could easily see that the gate was not right. My husband contacted Michelle Algiere and she came over the other day. My husband pointed out the gate. She said the instruction sheet was wet....so basically saying it couldn't be read and basically blaming us. This is false. I took the DRY instruction sheet and put it in a plastic bag and sealed it for the worker to check out. He never used the sheet and someone opened up the plastic bag and left the sheet uncovered. Regardless, the dry instructions were not followed from the very beginning. Hence the gate looks terrible with openings that should have had boards placed there. Metal long slats are showing and should not be. The bolt was put in backwards. Two boards are missing from the gate, as well as many screws. I purposely put all the screws in a simple pile for the worker to have easy access to. There were SO many screws left over; hence, they never got into the gate! Such frustration and major disappointment. Now my husband has to redo and correct the errors. It was insulting as Michelle Algiere tried to blame us for the wet directions! Absolutely NOT a fault of ours. When one doesn't follow the DRY instructions from the beginning, you just can't ADLIB what you THINK the assembly of the gate should be. I emailed Michelle with very detailed info of what work we wanted done, so as to avoid any misunderstandings of what we wanted. The walkway pavers were totally put in crooked. Looked TERRIBLE and had to be redone. Mulch was spread in and around the flower beds which was fine...but, they also put mulch on top of the soil on either side of our walkway....which we did NOT ask for mulch to be placed there. Frustrating. We learned the property owner really needs to be there every time they come to make sure what the property owner wants done...is done correctly and neatly. The bottom line is it was not worth the over $700 we paid for their services. Needless to say, and sorry to say, we were definitely NOT pleased in the end and won't be having them return. UPDATE: 7-26-2015: After just reading the response from Algiere's Landscaping....our response is: Originally we had given them an "A", because initially they deserved it. This grade was posted on Angie's List within a few days of their first starting work for us. In actuality, we should have waited and not posted our opinion so soon. But, as days/weeks went on, the quality of workmanship went down hill for sure. Hence, her relating to my "honesty"....I am an honest person and take her comment as an direct insult and not warranted by any stretch of the imagination. When my husband asked her to come back at the end, for we thought we would give them another chance, and that we would have some simple work for them to do...when she started to blame us for the wet instructions for how to put up the fence/gate......which was done by their workers....that totally ended my husband's desire to have them work for us anymore. So, my husband decided right then, during the meeting with Michelle, that we no longer wanted their services at all. Such an insult to blame us for their doing. I'm the one who put the DRY instructions into the Ziploc plastic bag. The instructions were never even followed! The fence/gate was put up wrong! One of their workers took the instructions out of the bag and the rain got on them. This is ridiculous. Her "Provider Response" is just "Sour Grapes" and very unprofessional. We will no longer comment regarding this. Not worth it.

Did not comply with calling me back within two business days. After five days of no response to meet about the job, I cancelled our service request for Algiere's Landscaping.

I walked the property with Michelle explaining all of the work I needed to get done. gave me an approximate estimate on the spot and followed up with a written estimate the same night. We agreed on a date for the work. A delay of one day was managed well. Most importantly, the work that was done exceeded my expectations. Not only was the brush cleared, but other little details were attended to. It was a pleasure working with Algiere's Landscaping.

Michelle came down shortly after we e-mailed them and gave a proposal. They came as expected and finished the job quickly and did a terrific job.

Provider did Lawn Mowing and Trimming for April thru October. Service was performed on-schedule during the entire season; more frequently (weekly) during the active growing season and less frequently (every 10 to 14 days) when lawn growth slowed during the heat of summer. Economical because you pay by the month for the service(s) performed; $200 for a month of weekly mowings and $100 for a month of biweekly mowings.

Michelle is an excellent and professional care taker. She watched two of my dogs, one was in very bad health due to age and she treated him so nicely. She really did care about him and I could tell by her reports and text messages or calls that he was in good hands. After he passed I got a new dog who was very stressed when left alone, so Michelle would come by and take him to hang out with her for the afternoon. Michelle would also take care of my cats and dogs when I was on vacation. usually she would take the dog home with her and come by to make sure the cats were fed and their boxes cleaned. You can depend on her and you will know she cares as much about your pet as you do very quickly.Norwich

My gardens were very overgrown this fall and needed much clearing. Ben came the first day and did all the pruning and split a large sea grass. Michele and crew came that Thursday and spent the day doing all the clean up. Great people, VERY reasonable and did great work. We will be calling them for the garden "wake up" in the spring.

It has been an excellent. I wouldn't go anywhere else. It's very convenient because they do both seasons. The people that run the company are awesome.

Checked out names of service givers in my area at time of Blizzard, using Angie's List. Called and was impressed with pleasant and accomodating service from first phone call!

Ben and crew did a great job in a timely manner and were friendly too. Michelle in the office was a pleasure to deal with. I look forward to having them back in the spring.

Ben came by and took a look at the property. I was able to tell him what I wanted done over the phone, and he was able to take a look at it while I was at work. This was very convenient. Michelle explained the price and detail of the work to be done over the phone. I paid in advance with a personal check, and the work began almost right away. The men worked very hard for several days, and when they were done, the property looked so much better. They even left the bigger pieces of wood for me to burn as I asked, and had cut them into manageable size pieces for me. I was very pleased with the service and the price was very good and very fair. I would certainly trust Ben to work for me again.
