We hired MDF to paint a stairwell and the adjoining upstairs and downstairs hallways. Everything was great from the quote process, to scheduling and overall communication. The painter sent out was Julio. He was great. Paid attention to special requests, did multiple rounds of fine repair as things became visible along the way, and was very neat in his work. We have other projects in mind and will be hiring MDF again.

We recently had our house painted by MDF and are extremely happy with the result. The company was highly responsive to working with us on getting the estimate and contract terms right. The work was done professionally and quickly by extremely attentive crew. It turned out great. Most importantly, they have been exceptional on follow up to take care of the inevitable fixes, especially given that it was a large job. Julio, in particular, was amazing (and patient) in making sure that all problems were solved. They are competitive on price but deliver excellent results.

Overall very dissatisfying and frustrating experience. Scheduling, coordination and quality were unacceptable. I had a week to complete the project and was told that it would not be an issue, however the timeline was not met and painters had to come back to fix their mistakes.

Our experience with MDF Painting has been a nightmare. They promised a start date in a voice mail (which we still have) and were approx. 3 weeks late starting. We were told that if they could have access to the house 24/7 (it is vacant, so yes they could), they could “bang this job out in no time”. Our contact at the office was nearly impossible to get in touch with and constantly unresponsive to phone calls and emails. We contracted (and paid) to have popcorn ceiling in three rooms removed and reapplied. At the owner’s recommendation, he suggested “blending” the popcorn which we agreed to. Now the popcorn ceiling is literally falling into the floor in one room. As we live out of state, we asked the owner if he would come by on a Saturday when we are there to look at their shoddy work, but apparently, he doesn’t do weekends, only normal business days/hours. They insisted it was the same price to “blend” popcorn instead of all the labor/materials to remove and reapply which we find hard to believe. They finally agreed to give us a credit. We requested just the ceiling be painted white in one bathroom. They instead repainted the entire room (3 colors) which we had to pay to match the paint. In one bedroom, they painted the entire room as requested, but neglected to paint the sliding closet doors which really stand out now next to the newly painted walls. They started priming the walls in another room that wasn’t even contracted to be painted. They painted the attic access door shut, so when the stairs were pulled down, the paint came off around the edges. The utility door was also painted shut which took forever to pry open. They discarded the metal handle, so now it won’t stay shut. We specifically asked that they not clean their brushes in our house (we have a well), but they ignored that request and washed them in our kitchen sink which has metal scratches around the ceramic edge. We had to hire someone to come in and clean up after them not once, but twice. In the dining room, which was not part of the job, we had open boxes packed with all of our wall hangings which are now covered in dust from the sanding. Still finding splattered paint throughout the house. We go to the house on weekends to pack more items and arrived one morning to find the front door wide open. They helped themselves to ALL of the beverages we had left in our refrigerator. Obviously, there is very little, if any, communication between the office and the team. Very little respect for customers or their property. Please don’t get sucked in by the nearly 40 pages of testimonials and the salesman’s glorified pitch, which is what happened to us.

We were extremely pleased with all aspects of the job. From the first day, when Mark came to look at the job, I was impressed with his thoroughness and attention to detail. Our project manager, Kathy, checked in with us daily, and she made sure that she had a back up plan when there was an issue with a piece of equipment. Romulo and Luis did excellent work prepping and painting, they were quick yet thorough, and they made sure we were happy with every step. Communication on all fronts - from the front office to the job site - was timely and detailed, and I really appreciated that they were able to finish our job in time for a special family celebration. I would definitely use MDF Painting for our next job.

It went great. The painting was phenomenal.

They did an incredible job painting our condo, railings and ceilings. They cleaned up immaculately. The owner comes out to inspect the work and they are reasonably priced. I will definitely recommend them and absolutely use them, again.

We hired MDF to 1) paint our exterior trim and 2) paint our deck. I cannot express how much I regret hiring them. They were sloppy, unprofessional, and inconsiderate. I DO NOT RECOMMEND MDF. SLOPPY - There were more than 20 areas where the white trim paint fell on our blue house shingles. It wasn’t until we pointed out the areas that they addressed the splatter. And then, they said this was a “favor” or a “throw in”. We wouldn’t have had to re-paint any house shingles had it not been for their sloppy work. As for the deck, they missed countless spots on the flooring, spindles and railings. INCONSIDERATE - They damaged our brand new one-week-old fence by leaning their ladders against it. They left sanding disks all over the backyard. They left our windows dirty and full of bleach after a power-wash. They left our gate open every single day. They even broke a vent casing. UNPROFESSIONAL - They showed up when they felt like it and left when they felt like it, without any communication. They told us they would show up on a Sunday morning at 10am (unsolicited) and then never bothered to show up. Didn’t even call, email or text to let us know. When they returned the following day, they didn’t apologize or even acknowledge their no-show. Other times, they told us they would return in a half hour, but we would not see them until three hours later. We never knew when they were coming or not. One may wonder why this matters if they were painting the outside of the house, but keep in mind, they had to paint doors which required us to leave them open for some time and they were often painting near our windows where we dressed and slept. The crew “leader” even left a guy at our house and didn’t pick him up until 7:30-8pm. It would have been fine if he was actually working, but from 5:30 until the time he was picked up, he just laid down on our rock wall. In the end, MDF did a mediocre job. It took much longer than anticipated because they had to fix areas they messed up. It was my experience that MDF prioritized getting in and out as soon as possible. They cut corners and we had to call them back to correct mistakes several times. MDF kept talking about all the “extras” they did for us, but every single extra was a mistake they made and therefore had to fix. We even pleaded for a change in crew midway through the project as they were so disappointing and frustrating; but MDF told us they allow their crew to complete the jobs they start (who does that benefit? certainly not an unhappy customer). DO NOT HIRE MDS. Mark and Lisa talk a good game, but in the end, you will regret hiring them and ultimately be disappointed in the product, the service and the experience.

MDF Painting is fabulous ! Their team is professional and their work is meticulous ! They pay attention to detail, and their #1 priority is to make sure you are happy as their customer. I had a hard time deciding the color for my kitchen, and Mark worked with me until I found the right color ! You will never be disappointed if you hire MDF Painting for your project.

We lined up 4 companies to give us bids. 3 showed up and I was impressed with the detail that Mark went through the house. He asked a lot of questions around our expectations, what we wanted done and our expectations. I was left with the feeling that Mark and his team would do a very good job. We wanted the job done as quickly as possible as we were not going to move into our new house until the painting was done. Out of the 3 companies, MDF was one of the lower prices. In addition, they clearly outlined the cost of labor and the amount of paint estimated, it was then up to me to pick the quality of paint. MDF was able to get very high quality paint at a great price. One week after the proposal, we had our pre-work meeting in which Mark (the owner), the job supervisor and I went through everything. Not only did we go through the details of the job, they brought samples of the paint colors I picked out and put them up on the wall. That way I could make sure I was comfortable with the paint colors prior to purchasing all of the paint. The team then started immediately. They worked through the weekend and the main two floors were completed in 6 days. It took one additional day to lay the epoxy down on the basement floor. The qualify of work was great. They did a good job repairing all of the nail holes in the walls. They removed some wallpaper we had up and the newly finished walls look great. The trim was painted expertly. The crew protected our new carpet and floors. They cleaned up after themselves.

MDF did an excellent job pressure washing my home. They were professional, helpful, on-time and followed up immediately after the job was finished to ensure satisfaction. The crew who did the actual cleaning was also very professional and pointed out some minor issues that I should address - which I appreciated. Very good job overall.

The work took about 2.5 weeks, the paint was peeling pretty badly and we were impressed how thoroughly everything was sanded and primed. The 2 painters tidied and cleaned up at the end of each day. They did not come everyday which is why it took 2.5 weeks but they and Lisa from HQ expained what was happening every step of the way from getting the estimate to the finished job

Everything went well and the job was excellent, I am having MDF stain my back deck next and have no problem with the expectation of having another excellent job

We use MDF Painting and Power Washing L.L.C and we are satisfied with them. They gave us a couple of dates and they had to cancel those dates and I did get a little angry with them because they said they had a big job come up and they had to put us off to get the big job done.

We have a 48 year old house that had many layers of paint on the wood windows. The siding had been stained and was just fading, but the windows were peeling very badly . The bottom coat was original from 1964 with leaded paint. The last coat that had been applied seemed to peel away all the other layers down to the wood. We striped down one of the windows to the bare wood ourselves and were happy with our results. So when it came time to hire a painter we know what quality we wanted. Most of the companies just wanted to power wash it and paint over the peeling mess. When MDF painters came out to estimate the job, Mark was very understanding about what quality we required and how best to acheive it. He agreed to take all the windows down to the wood and the wood panels above and below the windows. After some barganing on price we hired MDF Painting and Power Washing. It was a wet spring but they got started on the job when the weather permitted. The crew Manager was very helpful and always listened to any concerns or problems. They began with sanding and heat guns, some of the larger panels they used strip kits. The quality of stripping acheived was very good. They were true to their word and stripped off all the leaded paint on the windows and panels. It was this quality that we wanted and came to expect. The job took much longer then originally estimated, but that did not concern us as the quality of what they were doing was exceptional. I would not hesitate to hire MDF Painting and Power Washing again.
