That project went really well and we're really happy with C&C. We hadn't used them before but after we did use Chris again. Not so much the electrician himself but I would recommend C&C Quality Home Improvements.
Description of Work: They did some work in our boiler room, it was the electrical that was associated with the water heater.

I asked them to do something else for me and they just never showed up again. If somebody says they're going to follow-up with me on something I'd like them to but this guy didn't, so I don't think I'd recommend them.

mWe purchased a 90+ year-old house last year, and have a number of projects ahead of us. We chose the master bath as the first, and are very happy with the finished product. Chris took a tiny closet and 5x7 master bath with a pedestal sink and shower only, and expanded the bath to closer to 8x10 while taking part of our bedroom and making it a large walk-in closet. We also went ahead and used Chris to finish the hardwood floors in the MBR. While we had our own ideas of what we wanted, Chris was able to make suggestions to improve our ideas (like using European shower doors to keep the tub/shower open). Chris and his crew were all great guys, and when we had issues with a couple of his subcontractors, Chris was quick to step in as needed. We'll definitely be using him moving forward as we continue to upgrade the house.
Description of Work: We initially found Chris through his Big Deal, but we used that as the basis for a larger remodel. We blew out an old master bathroom and small closet to create a larger bath and walk-in closet.

It went fine. It was a simple job. It wasn’t complicated. The contractor was very nice. It was a little expensive. I think it was a person and not the company and he was a sub contractor of that company. He was very nice, pleasant and knowledgeable. If I had more work for him to do then it would have been worth it. I think $99 for two hours of electrical work was very nice. The quality of work was very good. He made an appointment and forgot me and we eventually we got together but it took two or three tries. He was a bigger contractor.
Description of Work: I used C&C Quality Home Improvements to put a new light kit in the fan.

Hi offer mentioned that additional hours would be at higher rate and materials extra. Fair enough. His work seemed slow, but it wasnt beyond reasonable. What wasnt reasonable was that he dragged some old guy with him and then billed for his time too. that was outrageous.

I hate doing this but I have to give this company a very poor rating. Krzysztof Przyslak came to our home in December to do an inspection of the house for leaks. He performed the inspection & was supposed to give us a written summary and estimate for repairs (flashing) to the roof. We never got it. He apparently had a back injury over the winter and the holidays came upon us so we didn't pursue this issue too much. But now it's spring and my husband and I have called him about 5 times to ask when we would get the estimate. My most recent contact with him was last week. He promised to refund the $100 we gave him for the service and also send us the written summary and estimate. We still haven't heard from him.
Description of Work: We have a dampness problem in our home that is apparent in the summer. We suspected that there was water coming in somewhere. C&C Quality Home Improvements sent Krzysztof Przyslak. I believe he came when he said he would. He seemed to do a thorough inspection of the house.

Chris was really responsive when we contacted him. I always felt like I could reach him over the phone. And he was willing to work with us (as we did some of the work and he did other aspects of it); that's a rare find in contractor. I am incredibly impressed with the tile job. We did not choose expensive tile, but the way in which the guys arranged the tile looks amazing. Plus, Chris added in a free stone shelf that matches the tile for shampoo, etc. because, as he informed me, he doesn't believe that those metal things one buys that go over the shower head and hold shampoo work. Well, he's right about that. So he puts in these beautiful shelves for free! We would definitely use Chris again. We have an old house, and he knows a lot about working with old houses, which is important to us. Plus, he is always checking on the jobsite, doing work himself. It's important to us to have a contractor who is actually present, not someone who just gives an estimate and walks away. Chris was always in contact with us about the job and always responded to our questions, requests.
Description of Work: Chris was a wonderful contractor to work with. We purchased the bathroom deal but we also had him redo a connected room and replace our main circuit box. So it was a lot more work than just a bathroom. Here's a list: He put in a bathroom window, did electrical work, installed a new service box for the house, framed a bathroom and room, framed in the bathtub, installed tile in the bathroom, moved the plumbing around and installed new plumbing, created an access box for outside plumbing, installed baseboard heat, installed bathroom fan, put in vanity, and installed toilet.

I called C & C after finding , for two days in a row, a small amount of water on the floor of the utility room that houses my boiler and water heater; I could not find the source of the drip. Kris responded immediately despite being on vacation out of town. As it was a holiday he had some difficulty locating his plumber but called me several times to keep me apprised. When he reached his plumber, he set up an appointment. Although he arrived late, the plumber was professional, looked for the leak but also could not find the source. He suggested that there may have been an overflow from the AC. However, he gave me his card and number and asked me to call if I found water again, which I did not. I assume Kris considered this an estimate call as I never received a bill. As an aside, I am going to replace the fixtures in my powder room, and will be calling Kris.

Be persistent if a vendor does not respond after a week or two.
Description of Work: I can't recall the actual date, but it was in the summer, I believe. We needed an electrician to fix our front-door bell and some other minor wiring problem. The fellow who came did a very fine job of replacing the door bell unit and fixing the other minor problem. He had been subcontracted by the company. The only complaint is that the company did not respond to the first phone call and never responded to our emails. That delayed us, but we are pleased with the work of the fellow they sent.

We knew that we would need someone to run an underground wire for us from the garage to our pool deck once it was finished so we purchased the big deal in June knowing it wouldn't expire until the end of November. When we were ready for them, Hurricane Sandy struck and they were too busy for our job (understandable). I was told to call a couple of weeks later. When I called a couple of weeks later, they were still too busy and told us to give them another month and to not worry about the expiration date. While understandable, we didn't get it done before the ground froze and is now covered with snow. I doubt I'll call back in the spring.

When the ground around our property is saturated enough, we get water in our basement through walls and the floor. We have had a couple of people take a look at the basement and gotten a couple of estimates on different approaches, but we felt that most of them just didn't fully address the situation. We were looking for a more comprehensive analysis of the problem and an equally comprehensive solution that dealt with the root causes of the problem rather than just covering it up. The description of the service to be performed by C&C (as noted in the Angie's List Big Deal offer) was comprehensive and therefore attracted us. When the guy showed up at the house in October 2011, all the equipment he brought was a tape measure and a clipboard. No drill. No camera. He looked at the basement, told us about the water intrusion problem we had (no kidding, we can all see that) and suggested ways to correct the situation. Then he left. After several months of asking for it, in January of 2012 he sent us a very simple estimate (with a different house listed on it) for the work, including a 40' french drain in the basement, sealing walls with waterproofing paint, and digging the existing sump well deeper for the existing sump pump. For that work, he would charge $7,250. In summary, we were expecting a more thorough analysis based on the Big Deal email. There was no drilling. There was no camera work. The inspection was cursory at best. And the result was a very basic estimate. And for that, we paid $50. We reached out to them several times asking for a refund, but to no avail. By comparison, we have received better analysis and more comprehensive estimates from those other people we've had look at the basement in the past. And all of them have done it for free.
Description of Work: I responded to an Angie's List Big Deal email for an offer of "Basement Waterproofing Interior & Exterior Inspection & Analysis" for $50.00 (the alleged value was listed as $180.00). The service was described as follows (this is verbatim as it appeared on the email): C&C Quality Home Improvements, a Page of Happiness nominee on Angie's List, is offering a whole basement interior and exterior inspection of the basement for only $50! Normally this is service is $180, saving members $130! This includes trouble shooting and inspecting potential and common trouble spots including gutter water flow, stoppage and blockage in gutter and storm water drains. C&C Quality Home will also inspect the foundation walls and will drill holes into the floor to determine the depth and thickness of the flooring. For any breaches in the flooring C&C will camera the hole in the flooring to determine the scope of the problem. For any basements requiring water proofing work, a complimentary analysis and estimate will be provided for the member. There is no obligation to use C&C Quality Home Improvements to perform basement waterproofing work. The actual service performed was nowhere near that complete.

Overall I was unhappy that they never responded to my appointment request. It was a very busy time of year and I didn't realize there was an expiration on the service until I received a reminder from Angie's List. This is not a reflection on their work - because they me be a very good service but I will never know because they never responded to my attempt to get an appointment.

The electrician was very helpful, clean, explained what he was doing and worked fast and thorough to address all issues on our list. We are very happy with the results. Only point of minor frown was him repeatedly talking about how much work he had as a subcontractor to the company that posted the offer on Angie's List and how little of the money ended with him. Minus one grade on professionalism, everything else excellent.
Description of Work: Two hour electrical work that included: 1. Identify cause why two separate light fixture didn't work (broken cable, loose wire) and repair it. 2. Identify why another fixture felt 'hot' (wrong wiring) and fix it. 3. Identify where switches lead to as they seemed not to connect to anything.

From our initial contact with Chris until the completion of the project, I could not have been happier with the work performed. He and his crew are professional, polite, and a pleasure to work with.
Description of Work: Chris gutted and remodeled a full bath at my in-laws house. From the beginning to the end, I was pleased with all facets of the job. The finished product is beautiful. It's hard to believe a bathroom could go under such a transformation. Chris picked out quality tiles, quality fixtures and really pulled the project together perfectly. Because the house was old and had little updating, Chris had to complete some plumbing and electrical work aside from the job itself. I felt confident in Chris' ability in theses areas. Chris completed the job w/i the timeframe he promised and was on the job site when he said he would be there. Also, Chris picked up his phone nearly every time I called him with a question. I've since had Chris back to do some smaller jobs around the house.

We purchased an Angie's List big deal for $75 that was supposed include a full bath design, with sketches, layout, etc. The owner was a few hours late for the estimate appointment. We gave him some guidelines of what we were looking to do, he took some measurements and provided some suggestions. We got an estimate a few weeks later. When we asked about the design, we were told that they had a lot of customers who purchased this and that it would take a while. For weeks I kept following up with them through phone and email and got no response. I finally had to reach out to Angie's List and request a refund. We were very disappointed with this and obviously not using them or recommending them for anything. It seems they just offered this promotion to drum up business without any intention of providing any kind of design. Essentially they came and did an estimate, which contractors normally do for FREE, and wanted to charge $75. Unbelievable waste of time and effort. I can understand that they would like to increase business, etc, but if they want to offer something like this, they might want to limit the # available (that they can actually do a design for). If you purchased this and they did not follow through with a design, I recommend reaching out to Angies List and requesting a refund.

Having decided to take a chance on a "Big Deal" from Angie's List, we hired C&C Quality Home Improvements at $99.00 for two hours of electrical work. After rescheduling a few times we finally solidified a date and time and Chris and Paul arrived promptly on agreed date. After reviewing the work we needed done with Paul we prioritized the work to get the most done in the two hours allotted. Then Paul got to work most efficiently explaining to us what he was doing as he went along which we found extremely helpful. In a way, Paul gave us helpful guidelines as to how electric works within your home which made us feel secure. He was competent, not overbearing nor secretive about what he was doing. The post lamp was a challenge that Paul took the time to think through. We thought the problem was an electrical line that had been laid when we put in a walkway and had other electricians check out but could not resolve. That turned out to be untrue. Paul would not quit until he got the post lamp working after realizing the problem was in a junction box under the front porch. He was determined to make it work which was a major coup for us. As you can imagine a front walk with steps in the dark is not small feat for guests. We are much appreciative and indebted to Paul Cilento. Thank you C&C Quality Home Improvements. We would definitely call on you again.

The electrician that came was very nice and very professional, and I have no fault with him. The contractor should have told me I would need someone else to cut the hole for the fan. Without this piece of vital information, the job could not be done. I eventually found another electrician that installed the fan for me. I would think twice before purchasing a discount coupon again.
Description of Work: Wanted a exhaust fan installed in my kitchen. Spoke to contractor on phone and he advised me to get the parts at home depot. The electrician that came could not install the fan without a handyman to cut a hole in the wall. He asked if there was something else he could do & he did rewire a wall switch that had a short. The contractor should have told me I would need someone to cut through the wall.
