Guarco Construction Driveway Paving & Snow Removal

Carl Guarco and his team did an excellent job ripping and repaving a large parking area behind my 3 family house. They added processed stone to level and grade the base. They replaced a linear drain behind the house, as well as adjusting and grading toward a driveway drain that had been too high before. He is experienced, fair and easy to communicate with. The end result is a beautiful job which I expect will last for decades.

I collected several bids for the driveway replacement. I found the process of evaluation by Guarco Construction to be thorough. Mr. Guarco (senior) is experienced and talented. His bid was on the high side of the range of bids. However, I chose hm and his team to do the work because he offered that extra customer service and wisdom. The crew was thorough and worked diligently. I am very happy with the job. Guarco also offered educational materials to extend the life of the driveway and his assurance that any issues with the driveway going forward will be managed promptly under his warranted.

He called right back, came and gave us a quote within the day, explained what he would do. We also had a wooden ramp that had to be removed and replaced at the end of our driveway and Carl had the perfect crew member to do that as well - Carl’s crew were also friendly and skilled - great work ethic and got the job done with positive attitudes. We had spent the last few summers touching up our driveway but it was finally time to remove and replace it entirely. Our hesitation had been the inconvenience it creates yet after seeing the smooth process and quality work Guarco Construction did for our neighbor, we reached out to them to get an estimate. The Owner Carl Guarco was responsive and booked our project shortly after our initial call. There were no surprises. He walked us through the timeline and told us what to expect. The project was completed on time and on budget. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about his work and his team has a high attention to detail. Upon completing the work, he walked us through the job to ensure we were satisfied with the results and gave us lots of tips to help maintain it. Overall the team was professional and efficient. The full process from excavation to paving created minimal disruption to a busy household.

Super result. Reworked and added to the gravel base and compacted it the first day. Let it sit over the weekend and rain settled it more. Then paved it and made a difficult match to existing strip drain. Carl Guarco stayed with the original estimate despite increased material costs. Careful attention to detail.

Carl Guarco and his crew did an excellent job removing the old asphalt driveway at our home in West Hartford and installing a new one. I am the sexton for a cemetery in East Granby, CT. We had a drain cave-in. I called numerous people for this small job. No one had the time to look at it. I found Carl Guarco of Guarco Construction. We met the next day. He quoted a price and repaired the drain. Excellent work. Several months later we had another drain cave-in. I called Carl, and within several days the work was completed. Our road is quite long, ending in a culdesac. It's old and was never installed properly. I had Carl look at it and quote a price. We came to an agreement, and as promised, weather permitting, he started the new road. About 4 days to do the job. Start to a perfect finish it took 4 days. Through the hottest, muggiest, and bug-infested days Carl and his men worked and performed. I could not ask for anything more. Thanks Carl.

I highly recommend Guarco Construction. Carl Guarco and his crew just completed paving and curbing my parents' long, steep, curving driveway -- not an easy job. They dug up and removed the old asphalt, gave extra attention to preparing the bed, paved the main driveway, installed curbing and a secondary driveway/parking spot. Carl kept me well informed during the entire process and always responded to my calls and questions right away. The driveway looks beautiful. I hired Guarco to put in a new asphalt driveway. From prep of the material under the driveway to the finished product, they did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend them!! Thanks!!

My driveway was a big job, tearing out the old asphalt, building up the poor base material as needed and installing over 9000 square feet of asphalt. The pricing on all the bids I got were similar, but I chose Guarco Construction because the owner Carl explained exactly what he was going to do, what we might find along the way that would cause additional work at additional cost, and how those additional costs would be calculated. He then explained his process of paving, giving me two to two and a half inches of compressed asphalt. I knew my driveway would need additional work before the paving to prepare the base properly. Carl gave me the confidence that as we got into the job, I would be treated fairly as the additional costs. I felt the other contractors I interviewed were giving me a sales pitch, and left with the impression that any extras were going to be a profit center for them. Guarco showed up for the site preparation as expected, and the crew did an amazing job tearing out my old driveway in less than one day. They were very accommodating allowing us to get in and out as needed. As they found issues, Carl brought them to my attention and suggested a course of action along with what it would cost. I felt involved with the project every step of the way, and felt the additional charges were very reasonable. I explained my desire for minor changes to the grading, and job foreman Tony listened to what I wanted and did an expert job with the final grade, blending in the different elevations to give the driveway an excellent flow and visual appeal. Asphalt was done on one long day, and the finished product is superb. Any job of this scope is going to have little issues at the end, and Carl didn't hesitate to put the manpower and resources needed to make me happy. A new driveway is a big investment, and the kind of job that most homeowners are not all that familiar with. It is important to chose a contractor that will do good job while charging a fair price. I came away with the impression that Carl Guarco is an honest man, takes pride in delivering an exceptional product, and wants to make his customers happy.

Guarco Construction did an excellent job repaving my driveway. They removed the old asphalt, widened the driveway exactly as I requested, added stone to fill holes in the base and build more base for the widening. Two weeks later they returned to install the new asphalt and graded it to drain rain water away from the house. The finished product looks great! Carl and his crew were timely, courteous and left the site clean and orderly. Carl was easy to work with from start to finish.

Great job. Would hire again. Removed old driveway, laid appropriate base and stamped it down good. Paid particular attention to drainage of water and grade to Highway. Paved with specific amount of asphalt contracted for and rolled it out smooth and solid. Again, great job, very pleased.

Carl came to the home and helped me prepare a new driveway plan that both met our needs and was economical. In addition to the new driveway, we were looking to have the site prepped for a garage to be delivered. He was knowledgeable and worked with the building inspector to make sure the job was done on time and to code. Would definitely recommend! Remember cheap can turn out expensive. Make sure you do your research before hiring a paver.
