 + -1 moreI have used Pro Plumbing a number of times in recent years and never had a problem. Work was done fairly quickly and done correctly. This time was a different story. The morning I noticed the leak, I called Rich's office (non-emergency) line. The outgoing message said someone would get back to me that evening. I received no return phone call. The next morning I called Rich's cell phone (emergency line) and left another voicemail. Still no response. Over a 3-day span, I called 5 times and never got a return call, not even to say he was too busy to take on my small job. The one time I did reach him on his cell, he said he might be able to make it to my house on his way home that evening to check it out and asked me to call him at 5pm to remind him. I called precisely at 5; no answer, and the voicemail has gone unanswered. Highly unprofessional and very disappointing, considering the work he has done for me in the past.
Description of Work: Noticed water stains on the ceiling of my downstairs bathroom. Needed a plumber to come out, determine the location of the leak and repair it.

Description of Work: I had a leaky faucet and I was getting ready to go out of town and didn't want to leave with a dripping faucet. The boss, who was leaving on vacation that afternoon, talked to me on the phone and said he'd send his guys out and asked that I send him a picture so he could send his crew out with the right equipment.

 + -1 moreI was charged $230 (pre-tax) for the replacement of the stem in the Symmons shower valve. The tech was here for less than a half hour. $150 for labor, $82.50 for the part. My regular plumber charges $85/hr for labor. $150 for 20 minutes? . Additionally, the job was completed properly. When the tech left, he didn't check to make sure the shower was working properly. When I got home and tested it, it was hot when it was meant to be cold and cold when it was meant to be hot. This was because a reversing seat had been used with the old valve to fix a shower that was plumbed backwards. Had the tech checked the shower and realized it wasn't working properly, he could've called me and I would've told him to take the reversing seat off the old stem and swap it onto the new stem. I called Pro Plumbing and told the owner about the problem. He did offer to come back and fix it, but I decided to have my regular plumber do it. Given the poor quality of workmanship, I was not happy with the very high price of the labor.
Description of Work: I wasn't getting hot water in a shower, but the bathroom sink had plenty of hot. I knew the problem was with the Symmons valve stem in the shower. Usually, over time, well water causes the hot water regulator to seize and that's when you no longer get hot water.

 + -1 moreWe purchased a new washing machine for a rental property. The installer could not remove the cold water hose. So, we attempted to try to remove the hose ourselves and caused the hose to leak. I called Pro Plumbers and left a message early on Saturday morning. I was very impressed that my call was returned within two hours. Then the repair was completed and the washer was available for the tenants to use within one hour and twenty minutes after my call was returned. The plumber was very courteous, quick and professional. I will definitely refer this company to others and use them for future plumbing needs.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced a washer hose from the cold water valve. The valve was corroded and could not be removed easily.

 + -1 moreMy 16 year old propane power vent hot water heater started spewing water out the top cover Friday at 1am. Thankfully I was up and heard the water before it spread to far. I called a few plumbers all who couldn't do anything till Monday. I got a hold of Rich with Pro Plumbers and he came out that day and gave me a few options. I chose to go with a heat pump hybrid hot water heater because of the energy efficiency. Rich ordered the heater I wanted from the plumbing store and as soon as the heater got shipped to the store Rich came out and installed it in a few hours. There was a small leak in the condensate line after it was installed but Rich came out and fixed right away. Pro Plumbers is a great company which I highly recommend.

 + -1 moreWork was scheduled and completed in a timely manner. Rich spoke to our insurance company about what he found, work completed, floor and ceiling damage. Unfortunately this kind of water damage from a slow leak is not covered by our insurance policy.
Description of Work: I noticed discolored bathroom ceiling with black areas late 3/28/2012. Husband Chris became alarmed, opened part of bathroom ceiling, and confirmed leak into ceiling of downstairs bathroom. Called neighbors for plumber recommendations, then joined Angie's List. Found 5 plumbers recommended on Angie's List within 20 miles of home. Rich (owner of Pro Plumbing) was the closest and available to come today. He apologized when running behind schedule. Worked with Jordan, Norwich Tech student, and completed work within 1.5 hours. Turns out the leak was from failed gasket and seals of toilet, leading to a slow leak into sub floor and downstairs bathroom ceiling. Rich replaced gaskets, seals, and bolts, cleaned up work area. Price was reasonable for work completed.

 + -1 moreVery glad I went with my wifes friend suggestion and since I am knew to the area I got a few estimates, pro plumbing was the cheapest and I am writing this to give him recommendations in replace of his decision to help me over the phone, not even knowing who I was. Glad to use him later to keep money in the local economy and to an old school type plumber who helps instead of trick people into getting work done that isnt needed or over priced.
Description of Work: They did not perform any services, but explained step by step to me over the phone my problem and if interested how to fix it myself without charging a penny. Very easy to understand in layman terms, he explained how the leaky cut off vavle was an easy fix but also gave me a great estimate if I wanted him to have it changed. Well not sure if he was write I went ahead and did the instructions he gave me, fearful that I may break the vavle even worse and have water in my basement but in fact everything went exactly as he explained, the problem was temporarily resolved and saved me from having to have this fixed in these cold winter days when most plumbers are very busy and have less daylight hours to work. In the near future I will use pro plumebers for this vavle to be changed. His estimate was half of Roto Rooter and Griswold plumbing, glad I didnt take the bait from roto rooter and have it fixed by them, they wanted 300 for a cut off valve, new plastic pipe, and a new outdoor vavle. Pro Plumbers will change the vavle for like 130, probably not much more for the outside vavlve, I didnt ask since he gave me the option to temporarily fix the problem whcih was not an emergency.

 + -1 moresttThe building owner where we leased a 1400 foot space for a Salon payed for the plumbing rough-in so I do not know the total price. My experience with Pro Plumbing was excellent. They were responsive to our needs, answered questions, and made suggestions when our layout ideas were unrealistic based on reality and physics. Overall I was impressed with their speed of install and professional relationship with the building inspector. My impression of the building inspectors view was that Pro Pluming knew what they were were doing.
Description of Work: Plumbed a Hair Salon that needed many sinks, pedicure stations, hair wash stations, washing machine and hot water heater. The new location for Treehugger Organic Salon in New London CT. I will post construction photos soon.

Description of Work: We seem to have a minor plumbing problem once a year - this time a pump/drain fixture failed in our basement utility sink. They removed the old apparatus, suggested a better means of draining the utility sink, and completed the job in less than an hour and a half.
