Description of Work: Swept and inspected chimney. Damper was broken and there was no cap on top of chimney. Heat in the house was going up the chimney. I was told that he could fix the damper and put a cap on the chimney or install a combo damper/cap made of steel that had a useful life of 10 years. I chose the combo. cost of $375 for item and $75.00 for installation labor. The 109.00 was the sweep and inspection.- big deal for chimney from Angie. Very pleased with the work. All was done that afternoon.

Showed me what was removed (small pile of fine black powder) Vacuumed up after cleaning, no mess or dust in the house.  + 0 moreOnly company I called that wasn't on a month long wait this time of year. Able to do it 2 weeks after I called. Inspected and cleaned the chimney and 1 wood stove. Wanted an additional 200 to clean my other stove cause it was a coal or wood stove so didn't have them do that one. Didn't use a camera, just a visual inspection. Would recommend them again.

 + 1 moreIn sum, work by Dublin City Chimney Sweeps (DCCS) was outstanding. I'd just purchased a home built in 1999 and I was anxious about the relative health of the flues since it appeared that the furnace had already had to be replaced and water was getting to the firebox during storms. I found DCCS through a referral from the Preston Trading Post, as I'd also been having some issues with the pellet stove. DCCS's response was fast, professional and expert. They quickly determined that the wall chimney installed for the pellet stove was too long for the stove to handle (3" pipe, 43 feet long) and strategized with me to correct the faults at a reasonable price. The furnace flue was choked with soot (apparently never cleaned) and some rust was present in the ducts going into the furnace because of water fallback (which may be the reason for the new furnace). The original aluminum chase cover was cracked and coated with yards of silicon caulk in a vain attempt to stop leaks. DCCS replaced the chase cover with a custom-fitted stainless steel unit and designed an ingenious cap configuration to preclude any downdraft issues caused by the short separation between the two flues. They also corrected the piping configuration into the furnace, incorporating a tee to collect any fallback and installed commercial grade dampers. Throughout this process, DCCS coached me through the mechanics (and safety priorities) of the venting systems and kept me informed about every step of the process. Jack Mahoney, owner of DCCS, even did extensive research on my prefab fireplace to help me move forward with installing a gas log system. Overall, I could not be more pleased nor more confident that the safety and efficiency of the house's flue systems are now top-notch. Their prices were extremely reasonable for the quality and quantity of work provided. DCCS will look after my flues from now on. I'd recommend them to everyone.
