Michaud Enterprises LLC

We have hired Michaud Enterprises six times in the past 15 years for two different homes. Upon first meeting Michaud, we understood why they were highly recommended. They are true professionals, organized, creative and have an amazing vision of what a space can be. Our first remodel came in on time and on budget, which is rare nowadays. The team they worked with from tile, to granite, to the fixtures & custom cabinetry, did impeccable work! In addition, they left our home spotless each and every day. They were professional, trustworthy and very easy to work with! I highly recommend Michaud Enterprises for any job you need!

Gilles and his workers were always prompt and very courteous. The quality of work and attention to detail in the finishing and trim was excellent. They also did a great job cleaning up which was very much appreciated. I would definitely use him again for future projects.

The workmanship was poor in most areas, e.g. the sink leaked, the vanity was installed off-center, there were large chips in the floor tile, the tub spout was improperly installed (according to the manufacturer). The team was difficult to work with, and the project was over budget and took longer than estimated.

Their designer had the best ideas. Their price was pretty reasonable compared to others. They were easy to deal with. The work took about 2-3 weeks. This was the best company I have worked with.

The company is a father and son operation. The initial estimate was too low and mostly because the "allowances" were always based on the lowest quality materials (for example tile allowance was only for the very cheapest tile). As a customer of Michaud, I was TOLD what I should want in the bathroom and given a hard time when I asked for specific designs that would have required very little extra work (which I would have paid for anyway). Michaud Enterprises subscribed to a paternalistic model of doing business in which the customer is automatically wrong if he / she does not agree with the contractor. There appeared to be very little flexibility in what materials you are allowed to use in the bathroom even when the materials are readily available and commonly used in other home bathrooms. While the quality of the work once completed is above average, I was expected to do most of the following -- coordinating contractors, purchasing materials and returning the materials to suppliers when they don't fit the specifications. Firming a time for start and completion of the work was also problematic as there was disorganization and unspoken expectations that I the customer should have known about what the contractor needed to start and finish the work. That being said, the company is responsive to calls about problems after completion of the remodeling and usually come to resolve the problem within 7 days. I feel I paid too much for the remodeling because I had to do so much of the coordinating that I wondered what was the point of having a contractor ?
