A project contracted to take 3 months has taken over 13 months to be completed. Floors had to be completely redone after GC said he would be overseeing it and complaints earlier about the sub contractor which has delayed our project further. Although he was supposed to oversee the floors the general comtractor David Kniesel agreed that the floors were unacceptable and offered to remove the floors and gave 3 quotes for removal. However, when we went with his recommendation choice of flooring specialist USA Express they did not remove the floors based on the plan and contract provided to us and still has not finished the job. The flooring issue in December has caused major delays of over 3 months more in finishing the job and we are still in the same situation with no kitchen or family room or downstairs completed. You can see firsthand the condition of the floors Floors have been one of many problems, but you can’t eat in your home if you don’t have appliances. We paid 10 months ago in full for appliances on invoice he presented and has not been delivered after several promises in email and text from Shorefront. “We have ordered the Appliances and they will be arriving week of Jan 2nd” appliances will be there on Thursday” (March promise) we have no issue paying for the appliances and going to Aituros this afternoon to pay the remainder (feb 22nd email promise) I will deliver your appliances but you install them” (April promise) none of these promises and written assurances have come through. Our family and children has not been able to use the kitchen and has had to eat out of the entrance foyer with processed food and take out and wash spoons and forks in our laundry room instead of the dishwasher which hasn’t been delivered. Remember, Shorefront put together a contract which we both signed stating the job would take 3 months and was one of the reasons I passed on the other contractors who submitted bids. Now 13 months later, it is my opinion that this has been an unpleasant experience for our family and small children and feel my dream house has turned into a nightmare of problems because of these experiences.
