The person came to the house and to take measurements. He was wonderful. He was punctual and came out to the house. He also came a second time to take measurements for carpeting. He was very nice. His quote was a little bit higher than other companies.

Our wood floors had been covered with carpet, in some form or other, most of its days and when we uncovered them it wasn't pretty. We have at least 2, if not 3 different types of wood, with subfloor underneath only a small portion since it's a 101 year old house. What I loved about this company was that David came in and started talking about details right away. He really looked at the job closely and, along with the bad or needed patches that were obvious, suggested repairs that I wouldn't have known to ask for (a few areas of loose and/or cracked boards). No one else I saw took the time to do this. He talked about the types of wood, how I could expect it to finish, and how he would handle certain areas. He had samples of stains and the poly that they used ready to show. His proposal was incredibly thorough and professional, outlining everything, and with it he provided pages of references and other information about the refinishing process. There is one particular spot in my hallway where oak meets original pine, with about 3/4" difference in height, and I really can't believe how great they made it look. We stepped over a hump in the carpeting for years, and now it's patched and level. Mine wasn't an easy job at all (old houses never are), and their level of attention to detail and quality was evident every day they were here. I even requested an extra coat at the end, and they accommodated graciously. David was great to work with, and throughout the entire process, he really seemed like he wanted my floors to look as good as I did, which I truly appreciate. All in all, a great experience with this company. My floors look terrific and it's some of the best money I've ever spent on the house. Highly highly recommend.

Needed to rip up the old carpeting and refinish the hardwood floors on my house. I decided to go with Floor Coverings International (main office in Fairfield CT but also has one in Stratford, CT). The owner David Baker was very professional and courteous. He was even willing to do the job on short notice by re-aligning his crew's schedule to fit my timeline. He did an excellent job on 3 of the 4 rooms as far as refinishing but the 4th room was just OK, not great. When I mentioned this, he came back and re-did the job on the 4th room at no additional cost. Not only did David show excellent customer service during the job, but he backed it up after the job was completed as well. He even let me rip up the carpet by myself to save some money. He pulled the carpet nails out of the floors at no additional charge. His price quote was only the 3rd lowest out of 9 that I got, but the quality, responsiveness, courtesy, and customer service was well worth the few extra bucks. I would definitely recommend him. Very reasonable and nice to deal with.

It went very well and we would recommend them. They went straight to the job and got it down relatively quickly.

Very well. He was totally accommodating and professional, particularly as we didn't actually own the property we wanted him to work on until the before he started. He brought in a couple of workers and the floors were finished beautifully, with extra attention paid to the problem areas on the floors. Everything happened as it should, just as he said it would.
