You called us on Thursday, May 29th, I met with you on Friday May, 30th and we emailed you the quote on Wednesday, June 4th. I am sorry that you did not receive our quote but it was emailed and did not bounce back to us. We assumed you received it. We usually call approximately 2 weeks after submitting a quote if we have not heard back but we noticed Tommy (a local contractor, I am friends with) was already working on your project. If we received a call from you we would have addressed the issue right away. Please call us if you would like a copy of our quote. Good Luck with your project I know Tommy will do a nice job for you.

Mr. [member name removed], You called me at 6:30 Pm and begged me to come to look at a property that night which you were thinking about making an offer on (you did not own the house). Since you were a local guy and the house was on my way home, I explained to you that I needed to finish a few things for a deadline but would definitely come by on my way home. I told you I was hoping for 7:15 but would call about 15 minutes before I got there. You said that was fine because you lived close by. I was surprised when I got your call at 7:45 and you told me you where sitting there waiting. I told you I was getting in my truck and was heading there now but I am 30 minutes away. That is when you told me that I work without punctuality, professionalism and responsiveness. At that point I decided I would rather go say goodnight to my daughter before she went to bed rather than give you a quote. So explained that if you felt like that then we should not work together and I hung up the phone. We work hard to please our customers every day, this includes potential customers as well. We do this because we respect and appreciate them and their business. When we make this effort for a potential customer we do so in good faith, if we are not given that same courtesy I am happy to move on to someone that will.

I had water damage in my house due to faulty heating and plumbing zone. I had multiple estimates come through. I called LCP because of the great ratings on Angie's List. It made me really question Angie's list after he walked through the door. I come from a background of great knowledge of construction, and pricing. Unfortunately, due to a physical reason I was unable to perform the work myself. I knew the approximate cost should be around $36,000.00 but I was looking for the best of the best. We welcomed him into our home and showed him the affected areas. Although seemingly nice at first, he had an arrogant way about himself. Rough measurements weren't even close to describing how he uses a tape measure during a 'walk through'. I've never seen such unprofessionalism. He started rattling off words he thought I didn't know, and because I am a woman I think he believed I was clueless. He also started saying certain prices for insulation, and drywall which were absolutely off the charts. In the end he gave me a quote of over $80,000.00 Almost TRIPLE the amount it would have cost. I had the work done. It cost just shy of my original $36,000.00 estimate. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!! RIP OFF!!! For those who rated him "A" in price. They unfortunately have no idea, they were swindled.

LCP sided my house as a part of a total house renovation. Although I plan on writing an excellent review of the overall general contracting services, I wanted to start with a specific review of the siding work, because it was one of the decisions that my husband and I had the hardest time with, and I'll never forget how much Lucas helped us through it all, from helping us choose the type and style, to staying within a tight budget, to the quality of the actual work. I'll never forget how Lucas tirelessly took my husband and I around our town to at least 15 houses to show us the various examples of siding styles and colors, as well as different materials, so that the choice wasn't so daunting. After that I felt so confident making a decision, when before I'd been indecisive. Another thing that stands out to me is that, because our house is older, and has settled a bit, it was inevitable that there would have to be uneven areas. Lucas and his crew made it so that in a very obscure part of the house which is partially hidden by deck stairs, there is one slightly uneven piece. It's not even noticeable to anyone unless they are told. I like that Lucas was up front about this issue with our house, and that he and his crew made it look perfect anyway. Finally, I can't say enough about the professionalism of the crew and of the principle, Lucas. Honest, professional, respectful of me and my property. All around good people.

From the start my experience with LCP was a pleasant one. Out of the 6 or so e-mails I sent out at night to a handful of contractors on Angie's list, LCP called me first thing the next morning. Luke, the owner, has a professional demeanor and a straightforward explanation on what options I had available to repair my kitchen ceiling. Luke came to my house the same day we spoke on the phone. I had a massive hole in my kitchen ceiling due to a plumbing incident earlier in the month. It required drywall and a repainting of the rest of the ceiling. Luke explained what would need to be done, how long it would take and even offerred to take a look at any other issues I'd like to take a look at. As the job progressed, Luke would routinely stop by and make sure that his men were doing a good job and made sure that the paint job didn't damage any of the kitchen cabinetry and counter tops. As the job went on, he would check with me and my wife to make sure we were happy with the work that was being done. Overall, my experience was a good one. It's difficult to find contractors that get to the point. Luke does just that. He won't tried to upsell you or scare you into getting another job done. He caters to your needs and financial situation. I would recommend Luke to anyone who is looking for an honest and professional contractor.

There company was enlisted by the Lowes Store in Poughkeepsie NY to come to install a temporary counter top. We had been waiting for Lowes to get our regular counter top but it was not happening. The contractors were kind to come out and put in a temporary one for us. When the real one came in, the contractors were called in to remove the temporary ones. Unfortunately, they accidentally scratched the top side edge of our new insert stove when removing the item. I did not know that a stainless appliance might have parts that would show paint underneath, but it does.
Description of Work: They came into our kitchen to place a temporary counter top and later to remove it. They were very kind to help out with a problem created by Lowes store in Poughkeepsie whom we had paid for our kitchen remodel. Upon removal of the temporary counter top they accidentally scratched the side of our new insert stove. Nice people.

Sorry but this was not LCP General Contractors, We do not work in New York. We also assure that are customers are satisfied.
Description of Work: I wanted to get a estimate on some home remodeling. The work I wanted done was taking a wall down, painting with sheet rock put up, 3 rooms with hard wood floors redone and tile floor put in my bathroom. My place in about 875 square feet ( small co-op ) so it's not a huge place. When I received my estimate I was suprised to see the amount, which didn't include tile for the bathroom as I was told in the estimate that I would be supplying along wth grout ect... I showed the estimate to numerous people who all agreed that it was very expensive. Very nice man, he might do great work, just not at my place.

I contacted this company by email via Angie's List to ask about their expertise with regards to structural engineering in February 2012. I needed someone to take a look at some huge cracks & seemingly-unusual settling we're experiencing at our home. It is now April 2012, and we have received absolutely no response from LCP General Contractors. They could have simply sent us an email in February indicating they were unavailable, or that they do not actually do structural inspections. I am disappointed in their unresponsiveness & unprofessionalism.

The job went very smoothly.
Description of Work: Lucas Papageorge Jr. did an excellent job remodelling our basement; his workers installed a new floor, built and installed a new staircase, a new storage closet, and he ordered and installed new floor to ceiling storage cabinets. He also cleaned and repainted the whole basement. There was only one instance were there was a delay in getting the work finished but he warned us in advance that he was busy with another job, so, the delay was not unexpected.
The job went as planned with many benefits Lucas provides for his customers. I was referred to him through communal friends and was happy with the outcome. I enjoyed the multi-payment plans throughout the the job. I wasn't comfortable with the half up front or thirds along the way that most contractors offered me. Lucas is always available during the project and even after the project was finished. If I have any questions during the job he was available that day or within ten minutes of getting back to me. I was new to this whole experience and Lucas was there for me along the way providing me with his knowledge throughout the whole process. It was enjoyable for me as well as my parents with this process as they too enjoyed the craftsmanship of his work and how he came across at the many meetings they had with him. My parents are soon going to call Lucas for a quote on one of their projects soon.
Description of Work: I was remodeling a cape cod in the the Fairfield University are in Connecticut. The house was built in the 1950's and the house was not updated. The house needed new plumbing throughout, new electrical upgrade, refinishing the floors, painting of the interior, new kitchen, two new bathrooms, a wall removal of the kitchen/dining room wall, tile work in both bathrooms and new hard wood floor in the kitchen among putting up new light fixtures throughout the house.
My dining room had two standard double-hung windows, one on each side of the corner of the room. They were covered with vertical blinds from ceiling to baseboard heat. I rarely opened the blinds or the windows due to a neighbor close on one side, and sliding glass doors on the other wall that gave me an ample view of the backyard. At first I thought about just removing the two windows, making the areas solid wall. The more I thought about my ‘wish list’ for remodeling my house, I realized I would be spending more time in the dining room after opening it to the adjoining kitchen resulting in closing the blinds on the sliding glass doors. This is when I decided on the transom window idea. Each double-hung window was replaced by 3 transom windows stacked from top to bottom. After the initial install, it did not quite look like a single window with 3 panels. After expressing this to Lucas and reviewing the picture again he removed all 6 transoms and successfully captured the concept I wanted.
Description of Work: Remove 11 original windows and replace with 16 new construction energy efficient windows. Also dig a large hole for a granite mailbox post, and reinstall the fascia around my EON deck that was installed incorrectly by a previous contractor. The window replacement included recreating a look I saw on the internet under “Distinctive Window Ideas”. The caption for the picture read: ‘Transom windows bathe this dining room in light while offering privacy from neighbors. A change from reeded glass below to etched glass above underscores the windows’ horizontal lines.”
I have extensive professional landscaping around my house. Lucas and the crew took special care to build barriers and have all material directed to a given area to avoid damage. I also have a driveway of cement pavers. They were thoughtful enough to place plywood under the dumpster to alleviate any damage to the driveway. I will never forget the day they started working on the roof. What started as a very nice day turned very dark in the afternoon and a violent thunderstorm came through with driving, drenching rain. The crew managed to protect the exposed piece of roof with expert speed. We learned later that an EF1 tornado touched down in Bridgeport only a few miles away. I encourage anyone considering a sun tunnel to proceed. I have never enjoyed something so much for such a small investment.
Description of Work: Remove existing roof and replace with 30 yr architectural roof shingles, ice and water, Rake, drip edge, and ridge vent. Replace rotted plywood as needed. Also Install a sun tunnel to the kitchen.
Lucas has the patience of a saint. It took me a long time to decide I would give up my existing radiant heat, that many previous plumbers had told me was destined to fail due to it?s age. I was not about to remodel the area then have to deal with a leaking system in the future. I also did not want to switch to electric heat for the area. Lucas gave me fair estimates for the various heating options available, including digging up the floor to replace the existing radiant system. He even took the time to investigate a new system I discovered on the web that would go on top of the cement and used hot water. The most cost effective choice was the baseboard system he installed and after experiencing this past winter, it was a good choice and does the job well. Lucas is very knowledgeable and will explain the pros and cons of various materials. He will also steer you to where to go for good prices and selections. He is a very easy person to work with. Every time I walk into the bathroom I admire how well it looks and functions. It totally exceeded my expectations.
Description of Work: Transform a ground level playroom into a bedroom. This consisted of removing the existing wood paneling, removing the glued tile squares from the cement floor, replacing the existing heating system, installing a large new construction window, creating two custom design closets, a ceiling fan, and painting. Transform the connecting ½ bath and laundry room into a bathroom with custom stall shower. This consisted of gutting the entire room and opening the concrete floor to access the plumbing, swapping the toilet and sink locations, creating a large custom shower (frameless glass, granite seat/ ledge/shelves, light, tile to ceiling), ceiling fan/heater/ light, tile bottom1/2 wall and floor, special grout for all tile, paint top ½ wall, vanity with granite top, sink, linen closet, toe kick heater, new construction bathroom window, replacing the standard door with a pocket door, and all the plumbing fixtures. Also move hose outlet from inside garage to outside deck, install a motion light over garage door, and tile front hallway.

When the person from this company showed up at my home, from the minute I opened the door to the minute they left, I was left feeling as if they were not sincere in there speaking with me, and that they (LCP General Contractors LLC) was not going to perform what it was I had them there to do/build. and I was right, as they never called back or sent an e-mail with the estimate they were supposed to give. apparently they are in the habit of wasting someone's time by coming out, barely looking around, not taking proper measurements "I've had quite a bit of work done to my home over the last year and a half" and was at one time a construction worker building homes, I know what I see while it's happening in front of me.. In my humble opinion, this company misrepresented themselves by saying one thing, but doing another.

I am sorry that Member felt like my company was wasting his time, That is not how we do business! We would not take our time to drive to your house (25 min away) and spend more then half an hour with him going over his plans to transform the basement into a recording studio if we had no intention of quoting the project. We took measurements, 20 + photos, and the time for Member to show us the other work he had done and what he was expecting for his studio. At that time, we explained to him that we were backed up on our quotes and that his project would need some specialty subcontractor pricing, therefore his quote could take some time. As to punctuality, we called in response to his email within 24 hours and set up an appointment within the week. We arrived at the home at the time specified per our phone conversation. At that time Member was not prepared including not penning his Pit Bull who proceeded to jump through a screen to GREeT US. As a company we only give accurate, detailed quotes so that we can guarantee our pricing with no extras. This possess takes time and an occasion we get a backlog of quotes, we are a small company and all quotes are done by the owner himself. At this time we have over eight hours into quoting this project and are nearly completed. If he would like to continue working with us, we are always available to discuss if he would please call us directly. In closing we appoligy to Member that we didn't not get his quote off in a timely manor.

I have a contractor in place to do an outdoor deck addition to this place. My neighbor; because there is an addition in the back that is held up with some lolly columns, he was concerned about me adding this deck and he thinks that I should get an engineer and all those kind of stuff. The contractor I have in place to do the job is not an engineer and I couldn't get a hold of him one day and just for the heck of it I found LCP General Contractors on Angie's List. It was initially just one guy, his name is Lucas Papageorge, and he is a licensed engineer and it was kind of amazing really because I called and he was on the road and he swung by the house. I have a renter there and I had to tell her that he was coming. He went in the back and very methodically he looked at the whole situation over and he explained exactly why the situation at the back was okay for adding the deck and I made it clear to him that I already had a contractor in place and this is something that he would do. But he did it and I don't know why he did it, but he kind of gave free information essentially and helped me for this deal. I don?t know why, maybe because he was on the road and he wanted to swing by or whatever. I don?t know what to call this but he essentially gave me maybe what an engineer would do. He actually walked me through all the steps that I am going to need to do for the permits for this deck. The contractor that I have is basically a carpenter and he doesn?t do that sort of thing. All I could say is I kind of called him and he went out of his way to help me. He didn't charge me and did it all within hours of my phone call.
Description of Work: I got essential information regarding the deck addition to my place from him. This would have been in January.

Lucas is the guy that owns the company and is a great friend of mine. He did one of my rehabs, but unfortunately it cost me a $100,000, but that was a total gut rehab. That?s great and that is what he is good at that, but if I just needed an apartment gutted I would want to spend more like $800. We took a beat up lighten property in New Haven on Clay Street which is in the Fair Haven section and it is notoriously known for gang behavior and bad stuff. It was next door to one of my other properties where there was sick family. It was a problem for me because I could not get insurance on it because it was all blighted up and was a drug haven, so I bought the house next door for $35,000. We were going to do a total gut rehab, but that would include taking down the natural plaster walls and if we pulled out the walls, the city of New Haven was going to force us to redo everything inside the walls from plumbing to electrical work. We rented the top floor for $1400 and the bottom for $12,000. I have to say that Lucas is extraordinarily professional and put in a quote and stuck pretty much to the quote. Any extra things that I asked after the fact he was able to accommodate with no problem. We had a heating and hot water system which was a combination of one in all which not many people tried at the time. We put two side by side and one worked and one did not, but he came back every single time there was a problem and was there within a matter of hours. It wasn?t his fault and was the manufacturing defect. He was recommended to us by the Connecticut Real Estate Investors Association people and he lived up to everything everyone said about him. His price matched his work.
Description of Work: I used LCP General Contractors LLC and redid a property we bought. The work was started in October 2008 and was done by January 2009. We put new walls on top of the old walls, completely gutted the basement and put in a nice laundry room and 2 storage units. We re sanded the hardwood floors and re-did them, put in new windows and doors and sawed up a deck on the outside. We put a parking area in the back, landscaped and also put vinyl on the outside. We had to redo some of the pluming and painted it and it was a showcase piece.

We had LCP come in and give us an estimate for work we needed done in the house and the person that showed up had very little personality. He also came off as being kind of arrogant. When we finally received our estimate the cost was triple the amount that anyone else had quoted. Lastly, when I responded back to his e-mailed quote I explained that the cost was a lot more than we were interested in spending and then I never heard back from him again. He didn't e-mail me back asking any questions...didn't call to see if there was a way to perhaps work with our budget, nothing! Oh well, I guess that because we couldn't afford to spend the amount quoted we were not worth responding to.

They did preparation for other remodeling apart from the work in the basement. They respond to me, and they get back to me immediately. They are very reliable and very easy to work with. They are very knowledgeable about being proactive. They do what needs to be done, and they don’t cut corners.
Description of Work: They finished half of my basement turning it into a sewing, hobby, and laundry room. This included: Raising and tiling the floor. Five dome lights, lots of new plugs, and baseboard electric heat. Insulated walls. Doors to the water meter, electrical panel, and unfinished area. Shelves in what would have been wasted space. New steps, and the entire room painted. Washer and gas dryer hookups as well as a utility sink in the unfinished area. In addition to that, I had upgrades for different things in the house because of other work that was going to be done like an electrical upgrade to 200 Amps. I also had a ‘fan in can’ added to the furnace, and a sump pump put in.
