Description of Work: I have three late 1800s pieces of furniture, two dressers and an armoire. Antiques, but not "fine" antiques. All three pieces had been dusted over the years but items had been been put on top of the dressers, they "aged", and they needed work to change their "shabby" appearance. Chris came to my home and gave me an estimate. He picked the furniture up, using great care. Chris kept in touch by phone; I visited his shop to pick out finishes and hardware for one piece. Chris refinished all three pieces and did repairs where necessary. Furniture looks sooooo much better. Chris takes great pride in his work; customer is involved in choices. Chris is very down-to-earth and a pleasure to do business with. He gives his opinion if requested. Highly recommend. Chris really, really knows what he is doing. Description of Work: I had fallen from my attic and landed on a beautiful love seat, smashing it in a serious way. I wanted it repaired as at probably saved me from much more serious injury (broke 8 ribs as it was). Chris was great, and although he advised it would take a long time it took longer than I expected. But the quality of the work was absolutely superb - you would not know the damage the piece sustained. And the work quality was far and away the most important. The price reflects the difficulty of the repair so don't be scared off by that.

+ -1 moreWent great. Chris is very responsive, answers his phone, etc. I typically brought my things to him rather than had him pick up / deliver. He advised on a color for a chest, talked me out of painting it a solid color, and the results really are pretty and are more sympathetic to the piece. The final cost ended up matching his quote. As above I've only worked with Chris for furniture refinishing so I don't know if his prices are good but in my mind he's worth it.

+ -1 moreThey're fast, efficient, and very neat. They were very prompt and delivered on time. They came when they were supposed to and picked it up when they were supposed to and then they delivered even faster than I thought.

+ -1 moreI am extremely happy with it. I have never had it done before so I don't know about prices but I will tell you that anything was worth what they did. They got excited about the work. I gave them a bureau that looked like a throwaway piece of furniture but they could tell that it was of more importance than it looked. They were so excited when they had stripped it down that they asked me to come over to the shop and see it. They really know their stuff because the father is old-world and he trained his son. They just did really wonderful work.
Description of Work: I have used Carlo Ciardi & Son for furniture refinishing. They have done two pieces for me.

+ -1 moreI was very pleased with his services. He was wonderful. I really can't comment on the price because I do not know what a good price is and what isn't a good price. I haven't checked anywhere else with regard to price and so I do not know. I do know that he did an excellent job and I felt like he was really a craftsman because he really went above and beyond of what I had asked him to do. He did what I had asked him to do and in fact he felt he needed to do more to look better, and he did. He was wonderful. He had to wait here for me and I was late. He chit chatted with my husband. He was very agreeable and very pleasant. He went again above and beyond. I was very pleased with his work. I would honestly highly recommend him and I would have him back again. I am enjoying the table after he's repaired it. His quality of work was excellent. I will use his services again in the future.
Description of Work: I used Carlo Ciardi & Son for furniture repair. I last used his services probably three weeks ago. I needed a kitchen table repaired and a dining room chair repaired as well, and he did that.

Description of Work: Chris Ciardi refinished four pieces of wood furniture that have been in my family for a while. They had been well used and not so well loved through the years. I could not be happier! His work is impeccable! Not only did he make the wood look beautiful but the time and attention he gave the hardware really paid off. It glows.
