Excellent. Jeff and his team were punctual, professional and adhered to the timeline that was agreed upon. We really needed the work done quickly before moving into our new home and we were pleasantly surprised at the exceptional results and quality of work. Would recommend to anyone.

The job went beautifully. Jeff Jones and his team could not have been more helpful, efficient, and professional. The new oak hardwood floors are gorgeous, and Jeff provided expert guidance about how to handle the stairway. It is made of pine and the cost of replacing it with oak would have been prohibitive, so Jeff advised that sanding and staining was the way to go. But I was worried about how the pine would look next to the oak. Jeff took the time to explain how the two kinds of wood absorb stain differently, and rather than bringing sample chips to show me, he had me select several stain colors and applied them all to the pine stairs in small sample patches, so I could see how they looked and pick the one I liked best. We started with three, and the plan was that I would pick one and it would be applied right away, just before the team left for the day. But I still wasn't sure, so Jeff cheerfully returned the next day with two more stain colors, and I picked one I loved. (They sanded off the other stain samples and stained the entire stairway.) Also, when the carpet was removed, Jeff discovered that one of the steps was structurally unsound, and he rebuilt it. Finally, in the process of doing the stairway, part of the wooden banister had to be removed. Jeff brought in a carpenter to reinstall it, and when he was done, it was better than before. Throughout the process, Jeff's team was terrific! They moved furniture; installed, sanded, and stained with skill; cleaned up after themselves; moved the furniture back; and rehung artwork--all with the utmost care and respect for me, my family and our home. And Jeff's bid came in lower than any of the other contractors I met with. I would not hesitate to recommend Jeff Jones and American Floor Service, LLC.

All went very well. Mr Jones was very accomodating and waited to put the last coat of sealer on until all kitchen work was completed.

Jeff and his crew were professional, polite, clean, efficient, and quick moving. Jeff explained all aspects of the job prior, he was clear and concise, there were no surprises. The job went flawlessly and I now have an absolutely beautiful set of hardwood floors that everyone loves and comments on! I plan on using Jeff and American Floor Service LLC again for further projects and I highly recommend them!

Work was started and completed on time for both jobs. Installation of pre-finished went well, as did the sanding job. Jeff came across several challenges with the pre-finished flooring jobs - offered alternatives for solutions and met each challenge easily. He and his crew went above and beyond in many instances. He stuck to his cost estimates. AFS was recommended to us by friends (2 different ones), who also praised his work. His pricing was fair/reasonable. We would gladly recommend this company to others for either job.

The priced changed when they came to my home to do the job. My floors look the same as before the work was done. There are scratches and shiny "blobs" of floor sealant that look awful. Mr. Jones did send his workers back to my house the following week, they were nice but didn't speak English so it was difficult communicating. My floors still look the same as before the work was done I wouldn't recommend this company and I have not used Angie's list since this happened.

Two guys came in. They were professional and very fast. They did a very, very nice job but they had to come back and correct an issue. They did my second bedroom and a hallway. They sanded the floors and the floors came out absolutely gorgeous. They stained the floors and applied polyurethane. I had asked for a semi-gloss polyurethane but they used the wrong one. However, they came back and took care of it. They didn’t charge me extra for the extra time or materials. The floors look gorgeous and we love them.

Jeff showed up to do the estimate on time. He was complimentary of what we had accomplished and talked us through what needed to be fixed as well as the process. He was very patient and answered all of our questions. The bonus for our situation was that he could start that week. His crew showed up early on day 1 and made short work of the sanding and put on the sealer and stain that day. They came back after the weekend and finished up with the poly. Jeff came the day after they had finished to collect the payment. His crew was very prompt and courteous throughout the job. They cleaned up everything and took the trash with them. Our floors look wonderful!

I bought the promotion package providing $500 work for $149. I paid the remaining amount of $1150 to extend the project. . Jeff was friendly, gracious and accommodating and explained exactly what was to be done. Work done efficiently and promptly. Even returned to replace furniture.

Jeff is amazing! I called him to schedule the job on our new house; we closed on Thursday July 3rd.... Jeff and his crew were here THE NEXT MORNING (the 4th of July)! They worked intensely, efficiently & professionally all thru-out the entire weekend. These guys are so nice, so helpful, so good at what they do. Jeff even returned a concerning VM of mine the following week from his vacation with his wife!!! Their quality and timeliness "floored" me! I am most definitely calling Jeff for our upcoming kitchen remodel :)

We were referred to Jeff by a friend who used him and recommended his work. He was able to start a few days after we gathered all of our quotes and completed the job within the time he estimated. We had an idea of the floor color we wanted but in working with Jeff we were able to get the exact color we wanted. He was able to mix the stains perfectly along with recommending the appropriate sheen. He was not the lowest quote we received but was still reasonable. His workmanship was well worth what we paid. He exceeded all expectations we had. The floors came out perfect and his help got us the color we were looking for. I would recommend him to anyone and use him again.

American Floor Service is extremely organized and reliable. The owner Jeff Jones is extremely professional. Jeff and his team on every occasion showed up on time and preformed their task at hand in a timely and efficient manner. Jeff took the time to follow up on each of the projects we contracted him for to make sure we were satisfied with the end product. Having owned a number of homes and/ or properties over the past 30 years we found him to be the most reliable source for flooring and related services EVER! He stand behind his project. He stands behind his trusted team of craftsmen. These guys don't cut corners. They take their jobs very seriously and make sure their customers are treated with respect and are happy with the finished project. It should be noted that we interviewed a minimum of 3 potential sources for both of these projects and AFS not only offered us great pricing, but made valuable suggestions based on their assessment of our needs and wants - coupled with their knowledge of the various materials available. It was Jeff Jones who suggested we use an engineered bamboo product in our basement to avoid potential damage from heavy objects and reduce issues related to changes in moisture/humidity. As fate would have it we have dropped dumbells, cymbals and other heavy objects onto the floor with no adverse consequences and a recent flood from our kitchen floor above only resulted in damage to ceiling materials...the flooring expanded but contracted back to normal - saving us from another major expense. I highly recommend Jeff Jones and his team at American Floor Service.

The quaity of work done by the crew we had was poor quality and not what we expected when we contracted for the work. We learned at the end of the job that the crew was "learning". Jeff Jones, the owner, told us we should have been encouraging the crew which amazed us. We asked them to repair poor removal of stain near spindles which left gauges in the floor. If they weren't qualified to do the stairs or do them correctly Jeff should have not bid on doing the stairs. They begrudingly fixed areas where they had gouged the floor or there were particles/ hair in the finish. We do not recommend using this service and are surprised at the A ratings he received. We limited our search to only A rating providers.

It's not perfect, but we were looking for a quick and dirty temporary fix, and that's exactly what we got. The old stain did not come off of the edges of some of the boards due to warping. Not ideal, but I'm sure it won't be noticeable once the furniture is in place (we're still waiting for the floors to cure thanks to this relentless rainy weather). Jeff did an amazing job reattaching the loose boards considering the extent of the damage (so many boards!). I found one partially popped up board after they finished work, but overall it looks great! Since I was in and out while they were doing the work, I did have to track Jeff down a couple of times. However, he was very quick to respond once I reached out. Most importantly for us, he stayed right on budget. No unpleasant surprises there.

Jeff arrived on time and was able to tell me on the spot what type of finish we should use, what it would cost and how long it would take. I was glad to hear that the job would feature 4 coats. After checking with my wife, I agreed and the rest of the job went very smoothly. We made two adjustments after the fact, the first to add the hallway leading to the garage, and found the additional price to be very fair. The second was to ask him if he could make the finish coat not quite as glossy. After explaining our options to us, we picked a satin finish. The end result is that our floors have never looked so good. The only downside is that now we've got to redo our living room and dining room to match. Jeff himself is a real pleasure to deal with -- very professional, but also easy to talk to. I can see another floor refinisher taking advantage of homeowners who change their minds, and he didn't.. We're looking forward to another positive experience in a month or two.

Jeff was very knowledgable and easy to work with. His team came in and did the job wonderfully in three days. He then walked through the house with my husband and myself and made sure we were satisfied with the work. I would definitely recommend Jeff and his team as your go to people for all your flooring needs.

I needed my floors done. I had did the floors myself about 8yrs ago and they did not come out to great. over the years, my floors became run down, dull with deep scratches. I had call for a quote and Chris came right away to give me a qoute. He was suprise that i had made a effort to do the floors, because to finish floors is a challange. I was happy with the quote and hire them right away. They started my floors on 10/12/12 and completed them on 10/14/12. When I did the floors it was one day. So i know that i did not do the floors correct. My husband and I are very very happy with the floors. My sons are happy on how they look also. alked

The business owner responded quickly to my request for a quote. He came to the house and was very personable and professional. He reviewed the situation and provided the quote quickly. We contracted to move ahead. The workmanship on the floors was excellent. The issues I had that lowered my rating for the service follow: -Punctuality: There were several instances when the owner or the workers arrived late. They did not call to tell me they were going to be late or were even on the way. I had to place the call. On-time performance is important to me for I needed to get to work. -Door left open. On one occasion I returned home and the door leading to the house through the garage was ajar. This was obviously unacceptable. The owner "got to the bottom of it" and found it was a younger member of the team. Nonetheless, the person in charge should have checked to secure my home. -Painters tape not removed from cabinetry and ceiling. While the clean-up of the floors and the dust was good, the job was left not quite finished. I had to remove much of the painters tape. Again, someone should have been supervising the completion of the job. While there were quite a few negative issues pertaining to the work done, overall the completed project looks great. With some extra training and supervision this business owner can have an "A" business.

The experience went very well overall. The price was decent, and the employee that we worked with was excellent. He was responsive and did a very good job!

The kitchen was hardwood and the bedroom was fir. They did a great job. I was away on a vacation and when I came home it was a beautiful new floor.
