Summary. I am extremely concerned disappointed by my experience with Aire Serv of SW CT. Currently, I am expending significant time & resources in order to find ; remedy the damage caused by the Aire Serv service tech (perhaps accidentally). Background. Last week, my heating system experienced intermittent outages. A heating specialist from a different firm told me that a new aquastat controller might be needed (estimate $1400) or a new gas controller might be required (estimate $1200). This particular specialist was very busy, so I searched for other providers. Through the Anji service, I found out about Aire Serv. And my initial experience with Aire Serv was very positive. The service manager Bob was quite knowledgeable and responsive. The service reps were also friendly and helpful. While waiting for the service tech to arrive, I received two phone calls & a text from the service reps letting me know of the expected time of arrival. This was very thoughtful and appreciated. As mentioned, the original service request was for the replacement of an aquastat controller on a gas boiler. The Aire Serv service manager kindly sent me a rough estimate of about $1100 for an aquastat controller replacement and the Advantage plan. The Aire Serv Advantage plan is an attractive service to me, which added a positive expectation to the scheduled onsite call. I also felt that I might need a new thermostat and I discussed this with the service manager, too. The Aire Serv service manager made it clear that the service tech who would be onsite would do diagnostics first, then give me a proposal with options and prices before doing any work. This approach certainly made sense to me. Pls note that, due to working with other providers in the past, I had photos of the boiler from various angles. Incident. When the Aire Serv service tech arrived, he did diagnostics for about 40 minutes. He then showed me that zip ties holding wires that ran from the gas controller to the boiler had been cut. In addition, several of these wires had been disconnected & dismantled. He explained that all of this had been done before he arrived. And he explained that the entire system was in a dangerous status. He then gave me proposals for three 95K-btu potential replacement systems: Utica MGB ($12,235), Burnham ($11,970) and Utica UH-15 ($10,980). He also explained the 3% cash/check discount & the 18-month 0% financing. Damages. In comparing the photos of the boiler from before the Aire Serv service tech arrived with the status after his diagnostic activities, it is clear that, during the diagnostic activities of the Aire Serv service rep, the zip ties holding the wires in place were cut and several wires were disconnected and/dismantled (perhaps accidentally). Recognizing the damage that had occurred while the Aire Serv service tech was onsite, I mentioned to him that it would be inappropriate to move ahead with any work by Aire Serv at this time. I did thank him & paid the onsite call fee for diagnostic services. Damage control & worries. In the time since that experience, I have been reaching out to numerous heating firms & specialists. I have to get the damaged wires fixed & have the entire system examined in order to find and correct any additional damage caused (perhaps accidentally) by the Aire Serv service tech. The level of concern, worry & stress for my wife & me, both senior citizens, is quite high. The additional costs for urgent heating specialist services to find & repair damages is also quite challenging. Pls proceed with caution when working with the service techs from Aire Serv.

Suitable for minor problems. The diagnostics were incredibly minimal, and in some ways, I knew more about potential causes and treatments than the technician. If you are looking for a profoundly systemic diagnosis on a perpetual issue, then these are not the guys for the job. If you need a localized surface fix, then they may be useful for that. To give an idea, a different company gave me the worst-case scenarios, and these guys only offered solutions for the best-case scenarios. So, yeah.

Very responsive, got a same day appointment for an emergency. Technician was knowledgeable, and very courteous. Found the problem quickly, but since it was the end of the day couldn't fix it until the next day. Returned early the next morning with the part, and heat was restored quickly.

Brian and his team were amazing. Even after months of delay on my part, they were attentive when I was ready for the project and they worked to get all of the equipment (new Furnace, AC, and Water Heater) in and installed in one day.
