The man was very good. He put quite a bit of insulation in the house between the wall and the outside to keep it nice and warm and he put some more in the attic.

Chris Merrill and his cousin, Mike, came about twenty minutes early on Monday, January 13, 2014 and left at about 3:30 p.m. Chris gave some helpful tips about insulating my whole house, which I probably will do some time in the near future. It is an old farm house, built in the late 1850's with additions annexed in the early 20th century.

When they first came to assess the work we wanted and to give us an estimate they were very professional and courteous. They also were very clear about what they recommended : only put insulation over the kitchen area and the bedroom area and not over the cathedral ceiling. The proposal for the work was very reasonable in cost. The day they came to do the work it was raining. They again were very polite and took every caution not to track in dirt and water onto our carpeting. They completed the work quickly and efficiently. They had me climb a ladder to look at the completed work. I have two suggestions for improvement: 1) Improve the quality of their equipment. When they arrived and pulled out the hoses for the blowing in the insulation the hoses were held together with duct tape in many places. The machine that provided the power to blow the insulation was on the back of an open trailer and was covered with a tarp because of the rain. I believe that if they invested in upgrading their equipment it would give them a more professional presentation and provide the customer with more confidence in their work. 2) Rather than have the customer climb into the attic to see their work, bring a camera so they can take pictures of the completed work. I never really got to see if the insulation reached my back bedrooms because I only looked in the area close to the top of the ladder and could not see to the far end of the house.

Contractor first alerted me to the rebate program and willingly deferred doing work until the requirements of a home energy inspection were satisfied -- in order to qualify for the rebate. Then came promptly and finished job immediately. Discouraged us from pursuing another insulating project as not cost effective.Contractor runs a no frills, stright-forward operation. Don't expect magic; expect insulation at low cost.

They were one of the few companies that was able to blow in the insulation behind the aluminum siding. They were inexpensive. I went and checked on them now and then, they weren't intrusive and didn't bother you so they did the job and I was quite satisfied. We noticed some wrinkles in the aluminum siding, we called them, and they came out and fixed it. One negative is that we found hand prints on one part of the white aluminum siding but we were getting our house power washed so it didn't really matter.

They came out to install the insulation. They worked on what had to be the coldest day of the year with no complaints. They filled the entire inside garage wall and the exterior for the top and bottom of the front of the house. The process is a bit messy outside with some insulation going on the driveway and in the bushes, however they did clean up as well as could be done. I believe the rain will take care of the rest. They worked for about 4 hours and were finished. They were nice enough to move my car so it didn't get covered with dust and then move it back in when they were finished. All of the mess stays outside and that's great. When they are finished with each hole they have to drill to put the insulation in, they put a wood plug in and then puddy and paint each hole. They had to come back a week later to paint mine since it was about 5 degrees that day. If you need insulation work they are terrific, really cheap, and have the knowledge and experience to do the job right. Hire them!

They quoted an installation date about two weeks out. They showed up exactly on time and finished on time. The quoted price was very competitive and much lower than some others.
