Our problem with the New River cabinets my wife and I purchased and had installed in March 2012 by Bellmont Kitchen and Bath Cabinetry at our home was the deterioration of the finish on the entire eight foot cabinet unit. The finish deteriorated on the front and back surface of the four doors, nine drawers, and the face-fronts within less than four months after we had started using the bathroom. We first contacted the manufacturer of the New River cabinets which is CWP Cabinetry to provide us with information as to how to get rid of the staining and the milky appearance of all the affected cabinet surfaces. We contacted New River's (CWP Cabinetry) director of Customer Service and Marketing and the Manufacturer's Rep, who advised Bellmont of the problem. We spoke by phone and then met in person with the Co-CEOs of CWP in Roanoke,VA. No one from the Manufacturer would come to our home, not even the Factory Rep who had the CT territory for New River. New River told us our claim had to go through Bellmont. We again asked Jay Bellomo of Bellmont by email to come to our home in September 2012 to see the cabinets first-hand. In a reply email, he refused to do so. Bellmont kept telling the manufacturer that we damaged the cabinets ourselves by applying something to the surface of the cabinets. This was not true. We did not apply anything to the surface of the cabinets. Jay Bellomo and his partner, the co-owners of Bellmont, continued to allege this situation was our fault. Finally, our only recourse was to sue Bellmont in Connecticut Small Claims Court. We were awarded damages of $1,965 plus $90 in court costs. In order to finally resolve the problem, we contacted an independent furniture finisher who we paid to correct the finish problem. He and another furniture refinisher, both stated that we could not had have caused the damage and that it was a problem with the finish itself during manufacturing. Bellmont claims on their website and in their print advertising that they stand by their product. In our case, that was not true. We would never do business with them again.

Great! The work had to be done in stages and flowed aong beautifully. The carpenter who installed the cabinetry was kind enough to help with tasks outside the scope of the project and even stayed late one evening. The granite countertops needed to be cut an extra time offsite yet the workers were able to return the same day to complete the task. One thing that particularly impressed us was how neat each person was. The plumber- and carpenter- actually covered our entire hallway with canvas before they began work.
Description of Work: We had a new bathroom vanity, granite countertop, lights, mirrors, toliet installed as part of a mini bathroom upgrade. They were top notch from planning through installation. We had a budget and they were very skillful in insuring we stayed within it. The workers sent to our home arrived on time, worked neatly, and completed each task as we requested. They were also quick to solve the minor problems and even were friendly with our 2 dogs!
