Description of Work: Came out for a garage door tune up and roller replacement. Tech was on time very helpfull and advised me my entire garage door, tracks, everything needed replacing and it was not worth putting any money into (which I had a feeling was prob the case as it's original from when house was built in 1948), I would be better off replacing entire setup. They gave me estimates for three different style doors and I was going to have them put a new one in, however I then had a few unexpected large purchases I had to make so the new garage door is on hold for now.

Description of Work: The technician was friendly and personable. He explained what he found (a track was compressed, leading to scraping) and how he was going to fix it. The work took only 20 minutes. He also told us how to maintain the door, and what the best lubricants were and why. Our garage door has been running smoother ever since!

Description of Work: Garage doors have not been serviced for 30 years, so it's not surprising that a lot needed changing, including one motor (the most expensive item). It took the technician more than two hours to do it, but he did it the same day. Everything is fine.

Response from Atlas Overhead Door Sales
I'm sorry that you feel after the fact that the work completed was in question. The technician explained to you that the rollers would not essential fix the problem that you were having alone. Due to an poor installation by the installation company hired prior the track spacing and pulley placement were not correct. This in turn as explained caused your lifting cables to drag on the back of the tracks and the bottom sections were biding in the tracks. The pulleys on your counterbalance system were worn and of contractor grade and needed to be replaced. In the long run this would have cause more wear and tear on the entire counter balance system if it had not been corrected when it had been and the possibility of burning out your gears and motor on your automatically garage door opener. If for some reason you feel that your door is not running much smoother than before please let us know and we will gladly come back out to your home to suffice your needs. Description of Work: The big deal was to replace garage door rollers. Once that was done, I paid just $75 more to have the braces realigned and some tension adjusted. |The work was done in less than an hour, and should get me several more years of service from a door that is at least 12 years old.

Description of Work: Offer was for $99.00 through promo for routine maintenance and roller bearing replacement. Work was done professionally and efficiently. However, when the technician was done, he handed me a bill for $75.00 for a transportation fee. That wasn't mentioned in the promo ad. Nor happy about that at all. Someone deceived me by ommission.

Our technician was unaware of that the labor/trip charge inclusive with the Angie's list tune up that you had purchased. You happened to be one of our very first customer to purchase this special. The only time a labor charge should apply is if we are installing and repairing any other mechanical working parts on your doors other than the rollers.
