 + 3 moreI called Greg Benoit (aka Benoit Maintenance) to review my old heating system and install a new one in September, 2006. On November 1, 2006, I gave the representative of their company a check for $4,000 as a deposit. The system was to be installed within the next three weeks. Each time I called the company to schedule they would tell me they could start in a few weeks. On December 1, 2007 (one year later), I informed them by letter that I would not use their services and please return my deposit. The owner or his representatives would never communicated with me. I finally called CT Department of Consumer Protection and after their review as well as the Trades Practice Division investigation and a lawsuit filed by the State of Connecticut, I received my deposit of $4,000 in February 2009 (two years later).
Description of Work: I hired Greg Benoit (aka Benoit Maintenace) to install a heating system in my home in September, 2006. They obtained my deposit of $4,000 and never came back. It took me over 2 years with phone calls to their company 2-3 times a week , letters to the CT Department of Consumer Protection, an investigation by the Trade Practices Division, and a lawsuit filed by the State of Connecticut to have my deposit returned.
