F and S General Contractors

I was told about Fran, the owner of F and S General Contractors, by a close friend of mine who had him do his roof. I had seen the work done on my friends roof and decided to check him out for the roof on the foreclosed home I just purchased. Because I am not really literate in redoing homes, I had hired a friend of mine who is a general contractor to see over everything. Under normal circumstances he would of done the work on my roof, but, due to a back injury, that was not in the cards. F & S was not the first roof contractor I contacted. The guy previous to him took a fast look, and gave me a price of about $4200. He said that it did not need plywood. I was fortunate that my general contractor had already inspected everything and told me what needed to be done. We had already found rot in the roof and knew what actually needed to be done. The first person did not really give me any confidence in his abilities. When Fran came to do the estimate, he took his time, went into the attic and explained EVERYTHING he was going to do in detail, and why to me and my general contractor. The fact that everything he said pretty much matched with what my G.C. had checked out before hand gave me a lot of confidence in his credibility. A couple days into the job, we had a rain storm. Fran came out to the job site himself that morning and placed a Tarp over the roof so that no water got into the house while he was doing the job. The roof looks great and both me and my General Contractor is very happy with his work, and I may use him again for some other jobs will have in the future. He was very pleasant to work with and was always very helpful. As the job was going on he would stop to answer any questions I had and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with his work. Lucky for me the job got done the day before we had our first real snow. I gave him a B on Punctuality just because one day he was a little bit later than he said he would be, but, that was because he had to get some items for the house and it took him longer than he thought. Overall, he was pretty outstanding.
