One word: stress-free! This company easily surpassed my expectations. I found out about the company by pulling up behind a Mower Medic truck at a stop light. I saw the advertisement on the back of the truck for a company that comes to YOU for small engine repair (mowers, tractors, snowblowers, chainsaws, etc). I had recently purchased a really large two stage snowblower that had to be delivered from Home Depot by freight. Of course my first thought was: how am I ever going to get this thing anywhere if it needs to be fixed? I quickly snapped a photo of the back of the truck with my phone and called them in January 2017. Katie answered the phone and she was both friendly and professional. I supplied her the information needed and she said she'd call a couple of days prior to the appointment to confirm and she did. She also said Dennis would call from the road on his way to the house. He did! He was running about 15 minutes early. He was prompt and, although I offered to having him back into the driveway up to the garage where the snowblower is housed, he said he liked to keep his truck "flat" so parked in the street. Amazingly, he rolled the blower onto the back flap of his truck and it hydraulicly lifts up level to the truck and it's his own mini workshop! Amazing. He has everything he needs inside his truck. He set about working, first tuning it up, then fixing the snow exit chute, then putting the chains on, and finally changing the oil. Dennis was a great guy, friendly, not creepy (important, especially if you're home alone and have a service person come to your house) and a wealth of information. He had so many hints regarding caring for the snowblower that he was like a walking encyclopedia. The final cost was more than reasonable and worth every penny. It's absolutely worth it to have him visit annually to keep the snowblower in tip top shape. Dennis not only has a great business niche, but he is incredibly well suited to his chosen profession.
Description of Work: Dennis tuned up my Cub Cadet two stage snowblower (2 yrs old, but little to no maintenance performed by me). Mower Medic's tune up is $159 for: new spark plug, oil change, belt check and adjust, carburetor adjustment, checking and lube of gear box, fuel filter replacement (don't think my blower has one), shear pin check, shave plate and skid shoe check, cable check and lube, drive system and hex shaft lube and start and test. He ended up adjusting my skid shoes because they were too low and were wearing my shave plate. He also fixed the snow exit chute because it broke during the last storm and I couldn't direct the snow. It works fine now. Lastly: I purchased tire chains for the blower two years ago and couldn't get them installed no matter how many times I tried. He installed them! I also purchased a bottle of 5W30 oil from him and he recommended always using fuel stabilizer with the blower (I purchased that later at a store). I showed him a leaf vacuum I also have and I'm going to phone him in a few weeks to come repair that.
