+ -1 moreIf I could put zero I would. He Charged $400 to fix a stiff bathroom faucet. He was at my house for 1.25 hours that is $320.00 per hour !! Said it was the best he could do because it was a long drive to get from East Haven to Guilford. He put parts & labor on the invoice and he did not need any parts at all he just cleaned the fitting. He said he would refund me $100 of the absurd price and he never sent the money. Be aware when I went to the BBB site he did the same thing to an elderly couple, so he takes advantage of woman and the elderly, BEWARE !!

Description of Work: "My wife talked to him first to give us a price estimate for our condo (a foreclosure property) plumbing work over the phone. He asked for $200 as trip fee, which takes him less them 30 min to drive. After a negotiation, he agreed for $100 as trip fee. After I met him at our condo, however, he asked me to pay $200 as his trip fee. I eventually paid him $100. Since he received my $100, he has not given us a price quote(more than 3 weeks passed) for plumbing work. I left several messages on his phone, but has not heard from him so far. This type of person should not be listed in the Angies' list, period. This is the first contractor asking for a trip fee and I learned from my friends this type of request is a bad sign/problematic business practice. Dave claimed that the trip fee will be included in the final price if we actually use his service. But, where is a price quote? Clearly, Dave Miller is a crock. He can cheat for $100/$200 for a 30 min drive and do nothing else. Your plumber list needs much improvement. We have now found a plumber from Yelp for a reasonable price to do our condo plumbing work."

+ -1 moreI had an inaccessible leak in a 3rd floor bathroom that was trickling down to the 2nd floor ceiling and into my basement. I was able to locate the source of the leak inside a wall on the 3rd floor, but the piping was too far in and could not be reached. I gave Dave a call on Saturday afternoon and he agreed to meet me on Sunday morning. When he arrived, he was confident that he could reach the leak through the ceiling on the 2nd floor. After taking some measurements upstairs, he pinpointed it to the ceiling of a hallway closet on the 2nd floor. After cutting through the ceiling, he was able to access the leak. He cut away the original metal pipe and replaced it with new fittings and PVC. He finished in 4 hours and his price was very fair for a Sunday. I would highly recommend Dave to anyone. He completed the job quickly with minimal damage, and all I have to do is cover the opening with an access panel in case I ever need to access the tricky area again. He is a meticulous guy and takes his job very seriously.
Description of Work: Replaced original 1900 galvanized pipe that was leaking from 3rd floor apartment bathroom down to the 2nd floor bathroom and into basement.

+ -1 moreI would recommend Dave Miller Plumbing to any one who requires a plumber. Courteous,punctual,thorough,and professional. I was extremely pleased with the results. He was careful of his surroundings. And did not overcharge. I was given a very reasonable price quote before he touched anything. I would most certainly use this guy again.
Description of Work: Removed severely damaged shower head. Requiring the interior removal of threaded pipe. Replaced shower head with NO damage to tiles. Removed and replaced interior parts of toilet as well. Price included parts and labor.

Description of Work: I called Dave at about 11:30 am to ask for his services. He was at my house by 1:00! Can't ask for any better than that! He was professional, and courteous. He fixed what a contractor had done incorrectly (which was in addition to what I originally contacted him about) and potentially saved me thousands when what the previous contractor had done was surely bound to leak. I would high recommend Dave Miller to any and all my friends.

+ -1 moreHe was absolutely on time, friendly, knowledgeable. He went way beyond the call when we discovered that the placement of the drain pipe would interfere with the new vanity installation. His efficient solution was to re-route the pipe through the wall and around a corner...complex, but beautifully executed. He also had a huge variety of standard and non-standard parts right on his truck, eliminating the time (and cost) of a trip to the plumbing supply house. I would recommend Dave Miller to anyone without any reservations!
Description of Work: Installation of new bathroom vanity and sink. Complicated because of European sizing (IKEA) and an awkwardly placed drain pipe.

Description of Work: We needed a plumber to move a washing machine hook-up from our salon to the basement of the building. We checked with a local hardware store for a recommendation. They gave us Dave's number. He was available right away; he gave us an estimate and did the work all in the same day. Just one week later, our home water heater sprang a leak at 11pm. I called Dave, and he came right over. The next day, he replaced the water heater. Our next job for him will be to move the water heater from our salon to the basement of the building next to the washer.
