They have been excellent, fast, clean, and do a good job. We would recommend them as well.

They came out to check my furnace & charged $50.00. The service guy was rude & just looked at my furnace & said I need a new one. He said the front plate that was leaking would be difficult to replace because the bolts would break & I needed a plumber. He didn't bother checking the rest of the furnace like the 3 circulators. He didn't even touch my furnace & just left saying I need a new one. Well my son bought the leaky plate on line & he removed the one rusty one with no problem & put the new one on. He's not a plumber. Then called Petri back to tell them I got it repaired & of they would come out & check the rest of furnace. They refused & said that they can't service me because I didn't buy oil from them. I said then why did you take my money & come out the first time??? No explanation! Worst company ever!! I called M. J. Edmonds they serviced it & said it's runs efficiently for only $211. Far cry from a new furnace!!!

Their pricing was similar to other oil delivery companies in the area. It varies up and down sometimes they are better, sometimes are worse. I found it useful to switch and I have been using them for probably about 12 years now. The staff seem pretty knowledgeable about my furnace and always give me a good run down and spent some time and making sure everything is done well and then they do an adequate job. They have been responsive. I probably would continue to use them.

They were fantastic. It was free because it was covered in our service agreement.

The technician was very professional and helpful in describing the system and the best practices in light of being a new homeowner without any experience with fuel oil heating systems.

They did come out and do a cleaning on the oil burner about months before that. The cleaning is free with a service contract along with a periodic maintenance. The price was good.

I have an annual contract and the automatic filling works great. My only complaint is the skyrocketing cost of the annual contract. It also includes annual checkup of the heating system. You need to negotiate the cost down to what others charge, i.e. half the asking price.

Overcharge for oil a lot, but do it very nicely. Hide automatic renewal. Just charge, charge, charge.

Petro Inc. are not the least expensive around. I could find lower priced oil elsewhere, but their service is super. I recently had a problem with my water heater and they came out to fix it the same day.

They are a very big oil delivery and service company. They are actually very, very, reliable. I've been with them for a very long time and you can always count on them. The demeanor of the staff is excellent. We had Hurricane Sandy last October and there was a lot of damage in this area. My oil burner and hot water heater were submerged and since they were my oil company they replaced it. They are always there when you need them. I've used them forever and I will continue to use them.

I use Petro for my oil services so i figured would use them for the central air. The tech came to the house and said it couldn't be fixed. They said you can't get the parts that we needed and would have to replace the entire system. They also charged a $87.00 service fee for doing nothing. Their estimate was a whopping $7000.00. The very same day I called A-All plumbing they came the same day. They told us we did not need a whole new system and can absolutely get new parts. They went and picked us up a new coil replaced it the same day. A-ALL Plumbing worked in the boiling heat of the attic and we had a/c by 5pm. The cost $1900. A substantial savings. I found them on Angie's list :O)

They have a contract where they would offer us a deal to cap the price of oil. Even though the prices go up I do not get affected, and in the long run I will be saved. Many times it has gone over the capped price, but I have only paid the capped price. I think that's a good feature that they have. They are very responsive. If something goes wrong and we need to be serviced they would come out and fix it. They are always pleasant and easy to deal with. I trust their knowledge, and I am pleased with their service. I think there was once a leak in the oil tank, and they checked the valves and fixed it. They told me that it would not burn because evidently oil needed high temperatures to burn. They went out of their way to put a little bit of oil in a bucket and tried to ignite it with a match and make me understand. They really went above and beyond the call of duty. I thought that was great. They are trained and they have taken courses related to their work. They do their job well, and I have always been pleased with them. I don't pay them anything when they come out because I have a contract with them. I have already paid them for a year. They provide 24-hour service and come out whenever I need them.

We are under a contract with them so the cleanings are free.

Although no one is happy with having to replace a boiler, which is a very expensive piece of equipment, Petro made it as painless as possible from a service perspective (my husband and I were so impressed by the prompt service call at 2:30 AM in the morning), and also from being extremely speedy with scheduling installation of the new boiler, as we are expecting a heavy snow storm tomorrow and I have two young children in the house. I believe the price of my boiler was not as high as some of the others listed on this review b/c my house is relatively small (1740 sq feet); and I know I can probably get a replacement for slightly cheaper, but these things are investments in the house and with Petro providing the equipment and servicing at the same time, I have peace of mind knowing I can call them ANYTIME and they will come and fix the problem if anything ever were to go wrong again. We were also very happy with the installation team, who tried hard to clean up after themselves and even sweeped up the utility room before installing the new equipment. They worked straight through lunch to try to install everything as quickly as possible and that was really above and beyond.

I called, they come. They have even come in the middle of the night when my heater failed.

He said he would send me the information. The next day I called and cancelled, that was the end of that. I got a letter thanking me for being a customer a few weeks later. A few weeks after that I got a bill for $495 for cancelling the contract. They subtracted $69 for being a good customer in the past. I called and cancelled within the 72 hours and they are still charging me. They said because I accepted it over the phone, I didn't get paper. I tried to talk to him, talked to a supervisor. A couple weeks later I got another bill for $495 plus interest and didn't offer the $69 discount. They demand about $540, I've tried about every other way. I'm pretty sure that on the verbal conversation they never said there was a termination fee.

Petrol Heating & Oil has proven to be exceptionally dependable when we've needed them for repairs. They come right out. It's very reassuring to know that they'll respond in the dead of winter if you have an emergency. Everyone we've had contact with from this company has been pleasant and clean.

They were very professional and on time. They knew just what type of system I would need and ensured that the ducts and connections to them were properly sealed. The men that came were professional and they answered all the questions I had both before and after the job was done. Also, they gave me a great per month payment schedule.

I used them for awhile. They give you a run around on the price. They keep trying to jack it up tell me this or that excuse, I'm supposed to have a fixed price deal. Then they tell me I have to pay $150 for a service contract. When you call for service your talking to someone in Canada at some call center.

On the week of 9/18/06 I called Petro Inc. and spoke to an operator who scheduled a visit for a technician. The technician came on the morning of 9/25/06 and looked at the situation and said his supervisor would call me in a couple days with some questions and an estimate for the job. I did not hear anything for a week so I called Petro back. The operator was very confused at first because the original operator had not established an account ID for my job. After arguing with her about whether a technician had come to my home at all she gave me a number to call. I left a message with the voice-mail for the number. ''Kenny'' from Petro promptly called my back to give me a bid and enthusiastically said he could complete the work very quickly. I was out of town at the time and said I would schedule a the job when I got back to New York in a about a week. I have called repeatedly for three weeks to set up the job and have been completely ignored. ($1900).

THEY ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND ALWAYS ON TIME. WE ALSO BUY A LOT OF FUEL FOR THE FURNACE FROM THEM AND WE NEVER HAVE TO CALL THEM TO FILL THE TANKS. WE ARE VERY PLEASED WITH THEIR WORK.

THEY DID A VERY GOOD JOB. I HAVE BEEN USING THEM FOR THIRTY YEARS, SO I KNEW THEY WOULD BE GOOD. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THEM. THEY COME OUT RIGHT AWAY IF I NEED THEM TO.

THEIR WORK QUALITY IS GOOD. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY COMPLAINTS IN THAT AREA. I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THEIR PRICES FOR OTHER THINGS, LIKE FUEL COSTS, BUT I DO NOT FEEL THERE IS ANYTHING I CAN DO ABOUT THAT.

WHEN I HAD A NEW HEATING/COOLING SYSTEM PUT IN, THE CONSTRUCTION DUST AND DEBRIS NEEDED TO BE CLEANED OUT OF THE HOUSE. I HAVE ALWAYS RECEIVED VERY GOOD SERVICE FROM PETROL. THEY ARE QUICK TO SOLVE ANY PROBLEM I HAVE.

I HAVE USED PETROL FOR MANY, MANY YEARS, EVEN BEFORE THEY WERE CALLED PETROL. WHEN THEY ARE AT MY HOME DOING WORK OF ANY KIND, THEY ARE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE ANYTHING. THE MEN ARE ALWAYS NEAT ABOUT THEIR WORK.
