Description of Work: We moved from South Windsor to Enfield. I had used Allied to move from CA to CT about 6 years ago and was very satisfied with the service I received so when I saw this was an Allied affiliate I was expecting the same level of service. Contact with the office personnel was very good, however the actual workers that came to my house was less than expected. Two of the movers/packers were good the rest were not up to professional standards. I had asked for packing help as I knew I couldn't have everything packed by the move date and two men were sent out. They said they were not sent with the right sizes of boxes and left us with the impression they would be back or the movers on the day of the move would finish. The movers on the day of the move had no idea there was packing still to do and complained all day long. They did call for additional help but none showed up until around 6 PM. I had to pay a lot of overtime as they were there from 8:30 in the morning until 8:30 at night. When my furniture was delivered I found several broken items including one of my dining chairs. I am going to see if I can have it repaired as the .60 per pound for claims just won't get it replaced, if I could even still find one like what I have. So many things were broken or damaged I would not recommend this company.

+ -1 moreThe three Hartford Despatch movers showed up at the promised time at my New York City apartment and packed and moved my items very efficiently with a minimum of fuss. They delivered the items when promised. The Company staff who arranged the move for me were very responsive and friendly; no question was too dumb. The gentlemen who did the move were quite helpful and careful with my things. I certainly recommend this company for moves.
Description of Work: I maintained an apartment in New York City, which I was leaving, and hired Hartford Despatch to move household items from that apartment to my house in Connecticut. The move, which was done in two days, consisted of packing items and transporting them to my house. Hartford Despatch did a great job.
