+ -1 moreWe hired Ken (based off of a co-workers recommendation) to remodel our upstairs bathroom. The bathroom was very small and we wanted to take some space from the adjoining office to give enough room for a tub (only had stand up before) and a linen closet. They did such a fantastic job listening to what we needed and coming up with solutions to our problems. They worked closely with us the whole way to make sure we were happy from start to finish. A few months later we hired him again to remodel the downstairs bathroom. I can't tell you how happy we are with the results. Beautiful work all the way through. Ken (and Brian) were just all around great people to work with. Had absolutely no problem having them come and go in our home while we were at work. Our dog and 2 cats approved of them as well!

+ -1 moreKen is an awesome guy to work with who takes pride in his work and wants to ensure its done properly. Ken worked to get stamped plans from his source and ensured all town permitting and approvals were in place. Will definitely work with Ken again on future projects!

+ 1 moreProject went entirely smoothly, was completed on time, and within the estimated cost. Please see details above. We did not seek out other estimates before hiring Ken Sullivan Remodeling. We were very satisfied with the work on our kitchen 2 years prior, so when we found out about the problem with the existing foundation, there was no question that we needed to work with someone we trusted. Because this is an old house, there were many existing problems besides the renovation- uneven, poorly patched floors, a problem with our furnace, old wiring in the walls, etc. Ken's experience with old homes was essential to the high quality of the completed work. Our original fir floors were repaired using remilled wood from other parts of the house and the furnace and wiring problems are also corrected. Basically, we now have a new house!
Description of Work: Very recently, we had a 2 story addtion built on our existing 90 year old home. This was the second project Ken Sullivan Remodeling did on our home. (Complete kitchen reno in 2010) This addition turned out to be a much more complex project than we initially expected, due to problems with the foundation under a previous, 20 year old addition. Ken has not only extensive expertise in renovation, but also has a background in structural design. Because of this, he was able to come up with a cost effective plan to correct the unsufficient foundation laid by a previous owner. A structural engineer approved his plan, saving us the fees of other professionals, such a hiring an architect. The renovation added approx 96 sq. feet to our downstairs and 300+ sq. feet to the upstairs as well as included the install of a high efficiency fireplace. Again, Ken was able to offer several solutions for potential problems; we had concerns about chimney placement and losing indoor space. He was able to plan this out so no space was lost and maintain an attractive exterior to the addition. The project also included extensive finish trimwork to fit our older home; crown moulding , extra trim work above all windows, a lovely arched mantel which follows the radius of our fireplace surround, a walk in closet, and a small balcony from the master bedroom with cantilevered support (no post supports to step around on the deck beneath!). Ken took the time to find a 5 panel door for our closet that perfectly matches those existing in the original house.
