I think they were the only people I talked to. I didn't feel like it was a real bargain, but it wasn't way out of line. They were good at responsiveness. There professionalism was just fine. If I really look into having that stuff done, I would use them again. The overall job and the appearance when they were finished, was what we were looking for. At some point a patio is a patio and it wasn't fancy. It turned out very nicely.

We've always been thrilled with the results! He's very reasonable, they totally transform any area and I've never seen a more professional group get work done so quickly. He also works on design and gives great suggestions.

I really liked Tyler upon meeting him. He was professional, friendly, and provided me with an emailed and mailed quote containing a contract within a day or two. His ideas for the retaining wall were exactly what I was looking for. A crew that Tyler contracts came to do the actual work. Tyler never came to back to my house. I personally feel he should have come out to double check the work. The retaining wall we discussed had two tiers. I thought we decided the first tier would come up a bit higher than it was actually constructed. So maybe that wasnt communicated well. It would have been nice for the crew to go over that with me. The wall itself looks great and we are happy with how it came out. The dirt that we originally had in the space I didn't like because it was filled with rocks. The crew who built the wall put this dirt back into the retaining wall and Torrison charged us for 4 yards of topsoil after job completion. I felt the cost per yard of top soil was high, almost double if you order it yourself. After a couple rain storms and planting shrubs I have found that this topsoil is very similar to what we had. It's filled with rocks! I actually pulled out an enormous rock! I could barely pick it up. I have a hard time believing they actually put 4 yards of topsoil in there! It seems way to rocky with the white rocks we originally had. The crew said they were putting it back in but I still wonder if they really used 4 yards because the soil should be nicer than it is. All other landscaping companies I contacted never returned my calls, or showed up and never followed up with a quote. I liked how prompt the quote was. It did take about 6 weeks for them to start the job after making a deposit. I didn't like this but I understand we had a week of a lot of rain. I was told it would take 3 to 4 weeks before they started the job. I called once to check on the status and was told Tyler was on vacation : / This was in July. So this also put us back. Overall I am happy with the wall and the price, but there were a couple things I was unhappy with so sorry I can't give you an A. I would use again but I think I need to communicate better to make sure everything turns out the way I want. *update! Under a year later one of the top finishing stones came loose, fell off and cracked. I called the company and left a message to ask for someone to come out to repair and no one returned my call. Also the cement that was used to fill gaps between the wall and walkway are already cracked and coming out. I have downgraded the quality rating and responsiveness. I moved so I can't push to have the issue fixed. I won't use them at my new home.

The overall experience was very good. The materials and workmanship were of very high quality. The walk and steps look wonderful - very professionally done and they honestly look more expensive than they actually were. We were pleasantly surprised by the quoted price! Communication was an issue at times as we were unsure when the job would be scheduled, when the crew would come back to finish up a few last details. The Torrison crew came back twice to finish up the small details, each time we were unaware that they were coming. On the positive side, when I contacted Torrison to advise that there were some final details to finish they were very responsive.

Tyle was prompt for our brief consultation. I had visited his showroom in Durham to preview the veneer choices. The store workers were polite; they did a beautiful job!
