Description of Work: I had hired a handyman to change a light fixture in a building remodelled in the 1950's. He removed the old one & told me he could go no further, because the insulation was crumbling off the wires in the ceiling. I called Top Notch, and they had a man there 2 days later. He discovered that the problem was not solvable from the room. He had to go into the attic, locate the fixture and lift the flooring and insulation to trace the wire back to where it was safe, install a new junction box, splice in new wire and THEN connect the fixture. the work was competent, clean ( without gray fingerprints on the ceiling), courteously done, correct and complete. He told me what he had done and why, then offered advice on dealing with older buildings. I'll definitely call Top Notch again.

Description of Work: Company replaced the electrical service on the side of my house. It had been torn down by a tree during T.S. Irene.

+ -1 moreWork was requested when we discovered water was running into the old fuse box through the incoming wire! They also moved heavy barriers to the area and changed a few outlets to accommodate 3 pronged plugs. Work was scheduled, then delayed because of weather and other challenges. They worked efficiently and diligently and cleaned up all their debris, and some of mine as well. I'll use them again.
Description of Work: Upgrade from a 60 amp to 200 amp service.

Top Notch Electrical continue to delivery quality, are very responsive, reasonably priced, very tidy and clearly know their stuff. Tim and his employes are very pleasant and trustworthy. I will definately use them in the future and highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Tim (owner) and his team have performed electrical upgrade work on our 150 year old home for a number of years, anything from upgrading our electrical panel and system to ad-hoc wiring jobs (e.g. adding a new outlet or light).
