I purchased 2 cords of green firewood from Serge Isabelle, dba Tree masters of danbury. He responded the next day with the firewood. He would not provide an sales invoice and he wanted the check made out to himself, personally. My wife entered "for 2 cords of wood" in the remarks section which really made Mr. Isabelle angry. After several days of stacking the cords of firewood I found that I was 1/2 cord short. I called him and he was very angry and denied that there could be a shortage. He said he would come over the next day. He did not come although I waited all day. He called and said he would come over on saturday, 8/13/2011. He backed in and I could see the wood but oddly it looked like a lot more than 1 1/2 cords. I agreed to purchase another cord to induce him to bring the missing 1/2 cord. Mr. Isabelle got out of the truck and began to inspect the stacks. He said you are two inches over on the length and 4 inches over on one end. I said without thinking, that is nickel and diming me. He said, I do not like your attitude and he walked off, got in truck and drove away. When speaking to me he acted in a belligerent manner in an attempt to intimidate me. I reviewed my computations and I am sure I am out at least 46 ft cu. He had no intentions of leaving any wood. It was all a ruse, a theatrical production to be able to say he was responsive to my complaint. I am still out 46+ ft cu. and I did not like his intimidating way of doing business. There is a Connecticut complaint Dept for short load artists. You can file a complaint with Food.Standards@ct.gov or call Consumer Protection at 1-800-842-2649.Based on this man's business dealings I would recommend that no one deal with him in any capacity since he is unfair and untrustworthy.
Description of Work: Serge Isabelle, dba Tree Masters of Danbury, was asked to deliver 2 cords of green firewood to my home for 320. dollars. He delivered 1 1/2 cords of wood and from then on he had no intentions of providing the missing 1/2 cord. He angrily agreed to come and inspect the wood stacks but he did not show up while I remained home all day waiting for him. I called and he said he would come over and check my wood stack. He came to the house and made a cursory review of the pile, said I had overage in length and width at one end and walked back to the truck saying I am not dealing with you, I do not like your attitude. Possibly he does this to all the old folks he deals with.
