He was great. At first I had a difficult time finding someone to do this job, each siting that the job was too difficult. Then I remembered Angie's List and looked for someone with an A rating. He responded to my call right away, scheduled an appointment that was convenient for me and arrived on time. He went right to work and when we ran into some issues with the holes in the sink, he quickly came up with alternative ways to install faucet. He did a quick, clean and great job. He helped me understand how to control the faucet and how to maintain it. I was very pleased and would recommend him to anyone who asked. (in fact neighbors have already asked about him)

This one tested Mike's "No job too small" motto. Contactedf Mike based on the reviews here - he called back promptly, we discussed the problem, set up a time, and he arrived a few minutes early. Our problem was that the exterior faucet that services our irrigation system was leaking profusely, and the leak was reducing pressure in the system to the extent that several sprinkler heads weren't functioning. Of course, like most plumbing issues, this one was had a vastly more simple solution than anticipated - the mechanism required tightening. Mike literally took three minutes to assess and fix the problem. The charge was for entirely due to the time it took for him to drive to our home from Danbury (~45 minutes). In all - nice guy, good service. Would absolutely recommend him.

I gave Mike a call last week based on the reviews I read on Angie's List. He immediately answered my call and gave me a time when he could stop by and provide an estimate. He took his time looking at our sewer pipe and quoted me a price. I was pleased that his estimate turned out to be what I ended up paying for the job ($800). Mike sent his crew of two guys, Joe and Doug, to complete the job. They took about 4 hours to get the job done, which is exactly what Mike said. They were both polite and diligent in their work. I would call Mike again in the future for any of my plumbing needs. I would also recommend him to friends/neighbors.

Mike was prompt for the initial consultation and it was obvious he is very experienced and knows his trade very well. He made a recommendation to keep the current pump and only change the pressure tank which saved me quite a bit of money. After our discussion we scheduled a date for the work and Mike ordered the new tank for the job. A few days later he arrived and quickly did the work and tested the system with me there, and left after cleaning up and not leaving a trace behind. It is now 6+ months later and everything is perfect. Fast, clean, efficient and great value - I really appreciate the work he did and his professional approach.

Mike was excellent. Not only was he responsive, punctual, friendly and professional, he was incredibly patient and honest. From the photos I sent of the job it looked as though the valves needed to be replaced so he said to anticipate another $100.00 for parts and labor, but when he arrived he was able to clean them up (which look great) to save us the money and was also able to save the kitchen faucet so I was able to return the new one I had purchased saving us even more money. Alas the faucet to the bathroom sink was not reusable; Mike was great and waited while I ran out to get a new one. Mike was efficient, clean and courteous. We'll certainly continue to use him as a trusted resource.

Thought we would need to replace water heater. Mike took care of the leak and all is good again! He was professional and HONEST. Great experience.

The water to our household is provided by a well. Intermittently over the past month while running the water, the flow would completely stop from several seconds up to a minute. Then it would return with full pressure. I found Mike Barrett Plumbing through Angie's List. He returned my call within a couple of hours and scheduled service for the following day. He had a couple of ideas as to what the issue might be, and he was correct. He found the switch to the water pressure tank was completely blocked with gunk and quickly replaced the part. His price for service was very reasonable. I will definitely call Mike Barrett Plumbing the next time I need plumbing services.

He discovered the issue required assistance from another provider and did not charge for the first onsite. He then came back to reconnect things. He was personable, professional and reasonably priced.

They called me back the same day I called them-within a few hours-I explained the problems I needed repaired. The gentleman said he had a job in the morning but would be out the next day in the late morning. They called and said when they would be here-they were on time and very courteous and professional. They looked at the problems and repaired them on the spot. They were efficient, neat, and explained what they were doing and why the problem occurred. I highly recommend them.

06/04/14 Update: The business owner came to my home very upset at this review. I showed him the problem, and he totally agreed with my assessment. He offered me money on the spot, but I chose to get a few things worked on around the house, and the hole in the ceiling fixed. He has promised to come to the house himself and do the work. It is wonderful to see pride in one?s business and reviews. He came to the house, fixed the ceiling and my other plumbing needs and installed a hot water heater, all in a single day's time/turnaround. I would whole-heartedly recommend Mike Barrett.

Mike was prompt and polite. He worked quickly and efficiently. We have an old house - 50 years old, with hard water (with no softener). The house therefore can present some plumbing puzzles, but Mike was determined to find solutions. And he did. When the hard water caused the faucett parts to stick and freeze, he found a way around it, got the seats and springs replaced, and so our faucets are no longer dripping. And he kept working with us to get the toilet valve issues resolved; and they are also no longer leaking. We feel that his prices are very reasonable, and he didn't charge us when he had to return to solve the valve issues. We will definitely use his services again.

Mike visited to look at the sink issues and diagnose our noise problem. He gave us an estimate to do this work. He had to order a part for the sink leak issue. He called when the part came in to schedule the repair visit. When he arrived, it turned out the part was not the correct one (no fault of Mike's...for some reason unknown to any of us, the part that was ordered based upon the make and model of the faucet was not what was actually installed). Mike promptly went back to his supplier, obtained the correct part and returned to complete the repair. The second issue is one that had been plaguing us for years! Every time we ran the washing machine downstairs, we could hear the water gurgling, sometimes in the upstairs kitchen sink! Mike identified that the problem was inadequate ventilation. He added the parts (a pipe extension and ventilation valve) and it fixed the problem. Maybe that sounds easy...but neither of the two other plumbers we'd had in over the years got it right. I was finishing my basement and was putting in a large bar with sink and dish washer along with a half bath. In looking for a new plumber I found Mike on Angie List. He is top notch! Professional, courteous, responsive and clean. He is very knowledgable and takes pride in his work. We use to build homes and I can say Mike is one of the best plumbers I have worked with. He takes pride in his workmanship and is "old school" trust worthy and reliable. I have already recommended him and will keep him as a trusted resource. A+++

I am very satisfied with the job performed by Mike Barrett Plumbing and Heating. Our heat kept circulating through the house even though our thermostat was on off. We had initially contacted our oil company. The serviceman figured out we needed to change out the flow control valve ( sorry if I don't know the correct name). The serviceman changed it out. Later that day I noticed we were having the same problem and I called the serviceman again. He checked everything and said if there was still a problem I was better off calling a plumber. I checked Angie's List and chose a local company ...Mike Barrett Plumbing and Heating. Mike came out and immediately noticed the serviceman forgot to take off a piece of cardboard in the valve so it could actually start to work. I won't be calling the oil company for service again. Mike also changed out a tank that is attached to the furnace that was filled with excess water. Mike was punctual and very professional. I will definitely call Mike back with any future plumbing and heating job.

Mike was on time. He was very responsive to all of our requests to check and fix certain plumbing issues we recently had. He was able to do most of the work within the hour even though he had to go out and buy a replacement piece for the faucet. We asked him to come back and change our showerhead. He quoted me a reasonable price and will certainly call him again to come fix it for us.

Mike called me back he same day I called him, and scheduled the work for next day. He showed up on time and did the job very quickly . I'm very satisfied with his service.

The guys showed up on time, assessed for potential issues, made three recommendations to discuss, each with varying degrees of cost. The approach was considerate and much appreciated. At the end of the day the problem was external and not internal. I was not charged for the visit which was a pleasant surprise. I have Mike Barrett listed on my phone's contact list and will be calling them should there be any plumbing issues in the future.

Mike was very nice to deal with. He returned our phone call promptly and showed up on time. He took the valve apart and then went out to get the parts. Since it was high end value, only Klaffs carried the valve. He then returned and was able to rebuild the value from the front to avoid opening up Sheetrock. He was done in a jiffy. Most of the cost was parts.

Very responsive. I received a call back within hours. He was a bit early which was great. The service was done within 30 minutes and the quality of the work was outstanding. Price was a bit higher than expected but you pay for the best service and quality so no worries.

I highly recommend Mike Barrett for any plumbing work or repairs. As usual, Mike showed up right on time, fixed the poorly executed DIY repairs done by our home's previous owner (and therefore had to do more work than anticipated), and still got the job done for the price he initially quoted. He goes above and beyond, takes pride in his work, and makes sure everything is clean, neat, finished and in working order before he leaves. Thanks again!

I had no heat and it was 10 degrees. Mike called back immediately and set up appt for 1st thing in the morning. I needed a new circulator pump and also had some leaks that had to be fixed and some other parts that needed to be replaced. Joe was very professional and services priced fairly. Went out of his way to help and get the correct parts in a timely fashion. I would definitely use them again.
