Mike provided the kind of service I had stopped expecting from contractors. He responded promptly to my initial inquiry and to several follow-up inquiries, showed up on time, and did a great job. I couldn't be more pleased.

Mike answered my email promptly, which I sent with some pictures of the job. He gave me a ballpark estimate of about $1000. I had Mike come to my house to examine the situation more closely to get a final price. $1100. Not bad, considering it was going to be a pretty hefty job. This morning Mike's guys showed up on time, which is a huge plus (no waiting for me). They were very nice guys...pet my dog, and got right to work. I had already opened up the walls that they needed to get access to the pipe, so it was pretty straightforward. We spent about 20 minutes getting our bearings to make sure we knew where the pipe all ran, and then they were off. Pipe came out in the first hour and a half, and then they started laying the new pipe. All said and done, they were out of here by noon. So, given that they started at 8:30am, works out to about 3.5 hours. (2 guys, so about 7 hours of labor). Figure about $100 an hour for labor and $250 or so for materials works out to $950. Because things like gas ain't free to get to Stratford from Danbury and back again, I think this is a reasonable price for the job they did. The pipe upstairs looks really good (bathroom is still gutted, so it's pretty easy to see), everything is straight and will be easy to connect the fixtures to, even by a do-it-yourself-er like me. Couldn't be happier that the job is done, and that it was done to meet my very high standards. I highly recommend Mike and his guys for future plumbing needs.

I called a plumber who'd done work for me before and after I emailed him pix of the problem, he gave me a price of "probably $700 to $800" which included "4 or 5 hours of labor at $100/hr and "a couple hundred dollars" for materials. All that to cut and replace a portion of the iron pipe that included the leaky connection. It sounded grossly inflated. I called Mike Barrett Plumbing and they came out a few days later. The job was done in about 2 hours and I saved myself $275. (You know when you're given a range that the job never comes in at the low end.) I really appreciate Mike's prompt, professional and affordable work and I will call him again when the need arises. Go Mike!

Overall, from start to end, the experience of working with this company was great! We called Mike Barrett last evening, a little after hours. Still Mike answered the phone as I was leaving a voicemail and gave me the very first appointment for this morning! Dough was very professional, and friendly in his manner. He was here right on time and finished the job quickly, made doubly sure everthing was working well and left us with helpful tips and advise on the maintenace of our new sink and faucet. We will definitely use Mike Barrett's services in the furture. It is no surprise they have so many positive reviews on Angie's list.!!!

Mike was incredibly professional and responsive from the get go. He responded to my emails immediately and was able to come over both times within 24 hours to fix the issues. He was very quick and efficient from his diagnosis of the problems to fixing the issues. Mike is extremely knowledgeable and diagnosed and repaired my plumbing issues with regard to my shower and toilets very quickly. He is also very fairly priced. I am so happy I found Mike, and will not use another plumber again. Mike is the best plumber I have ever worked with, hands down.

One month ago, we had a metal pipe and a couple of valves replaced in our basement when antifreeze fluid was replaced in our heating system. The replaced pipe comes out of our furnace and branches out to various heating pipes. Last weekend, we found out that the heating water, with antifreeze fluid, was dripping to the floor from a loose fitting that connects a plastic pipe to a metal pipe that leads to the replaced pipe one month ago. At the beginning, we had a hard time to get Standard Oil to admit that it's their fault and to come fix the problem. They sent a technician over and the technician told us to find a plumber. I figured that I'll at least need a plumber's opinion about how big the problem is and who should be responsible for it. I found Mike Barret's Plumbing company's email address and emailed Mike about our situation and asked if he can come to look at the problem together with the Standard Oil technician. He made an effort to come to our house next morning although he was already fully booked so we don't have to take another day off work. He looked at the problem and ask us if we want him to fix it immediately. He was able to fixed it within one hour with very reasonable price. We were so glad that we found such a good plumber. We'll definitely continue using his service in the future.

It was done well. The person from Mike Barrett LLC came on time just as promised and also complete the work in one hour as promised. Mike followed up with a voice mail to ensure I was satisfied with the work. I thought two men will be sent out to get this work done in time requested, but Mike knows best to allot his workers and I am happy with the work done. As the first-time user of Angies List, I did not know how the $25 discount for scheduling the appointment on the same search date should work. Later when I inquired Angies List and got in touch with Mike, he immediately took care of the matter and issued the $25 discount with a check. Good work, good price and dependability, I cannot expect more from Mike. (I would rate the price as between A and B, but there is no such category, so I entered B)

Mike and his crew were in and out same day. He had a licensed electriton do all the wiring and oil burner tech set it up after the install. He and his crew did a fantastic job everything neat and organized and cleaned up and removed all the old equipment. I had a concern that night about an automatic flue damper that didnt seem to be working correctly I called him that night and he said he would be back to check it first thing in the morning he was there by 9 AM found the problem and had the electriton back the next morning and taken care of. Out of 4 estimates his was by far the BEST.

The service was great. Mike was thorough, listened to my concerns, tried to fix everything in the most effective way possible, even when that meant searching around town for a plumbing part that has been discontinued. He was honest and easy to work with.

I joined Angie's list yesterday, October 30th. I called Mike yesterday afternoon. He returned my call promptly and scheduled a service call for today between 1:00 and 2:00. He arrived promptly at 2:05. He was equipped with everything to complete my repair. I would definitely call him again!

Professional, quick (yet thorough) and neat. We had to replace all the copper piping in our house and Mike's team did so in a manner that minimized inconvenience to us; he came up with a plan so that we didn't have to spend even one night out of the house. As part of the project we also completed a full bathroom reno. Mike's team roughed in all the plumbing and as soon as I had the tile completed, his team was prompt in coming back to set toilet/vanity and finish fixtures.

Very wll, he arrived on time, looked at all the jobs and completed them in a reasonable time.

Spoke with Mike at 8:30; he was here by 9:00 and finished by 9:30. Did more than I expected (moved new washer into place, connected water & drain lines); very pleasant, professional, and highly proficient. Excellent value received for what I paid.

Mike quickly returned my phone call and scheduled time to come out to my home. Mike was exactly on time. While this was a small job, the leak turned out to be more complicated that it first appeared. Mike was gracious, personable, and hardworking. I have additional plumbing needs in the near future and will absolutely use Mike again.

Mike is wonderful to deal with. He always calls back, he came out and provided a free estimate. Mike is very professional and knowledgeable. We thought we had a much bigger problem then actuality. Mike calmed our fears and we have pushed the job out until the spring. Mike has great prices and we are looking forward to using him and his crew in early spring to complete our boiler pluming project.

Mr. Barrett arrived on time and was very friendly and easy to work with. He went to work right away on the requested areas and did a great job. All work was completed to satisfaction. The areas that were serviced look like no one was ever there. I'm thrilled with the results. I will absolutely call Mr. Barrett in the future for any additional work needed.

bottom line, this is my type of plumber. I am a 'weekend warrior' so i do most projects by myself (typically with excellent results), except plumbing. I checked out 3 plumbers on Angies list by phone telling each exactly was was needed, all A rated in my area (one quoted almost double the price) Mike's quote was the most competitive and he responded back to me the same day I called him. 8:30 am today Joe (one of his associates) showed up on time and ready to work. Joe reviewed what was needed and got started. he modified one of my requests with a better idea (capping unused pipes instead of installing cut off valves). The shower/tub install threw him a minor curve, but he overcame that quickly. Joe also decided that the shower pipe was too low so he extended it so that the 6 footers in the house won't have to duck under the shower head any more, won't they be suprised!). All this work took only 1 hour. Not only was Joe neat and professional he cleaned up after himself nicely. And they lowered the orginal quote by $25 because they capped the pipes instead of installing the cutoff valves. I didn't expect to share in the savings by any means whatsoever! Looks like this plumber is on my A list for my next project.

Was quite pleased with the service. Had not had need to use a plumber for several years, so used reviews on Angie's list to select Mike Barrett. He was courteous, professional and fixed a leaky faucet and stuck valve (luckily, as otherwise would have had to cut out section and replace valve). Will definitely use again for any plumbing problems.

He came out to my home on 8/20 in the am to take a look at the problem and he quickly determined the cause of the leak in my basement and what was required to fix it. His crew came out just after lunch the same day - they were friendly and very professional. The job was complete for me the same day. I would definitely utilize Mike again and will recommend him to any one in need of plumbing services.

Mike Barrett Plumbing had installed my hot water heater a year ago and we were very happy with his work. We called Mike for the sink installation because we knew the work would be done quickly and correctly. The plumbing team arrived early in the morning and went right to work. They removed the old sink and waste disposal rather quickly. One of the Plumbers wanted to check out the pipes in the basement and while we were looking at the system he gave me advise on correcting the serious problem we seem to have with blockages. I will call Mike to come back and correct the problems in the system in the near future. I have confidence in their advise and their workmanship. The team finished the job in much less time than I expected. I can only say they do excellent work. Well done!
