we have had Helio out a few times to repair damaged trim on our house and replace with Azeck. They have always been super quick to respond and get the work done well and quickly. They always want to make sure you are satisfied as the customer and willing to go back to add/fix anything that you need.

HM Construction was selected from 5 bids. Pricing was very competitive and references were positive. Working within the field of architecture and property management, Helio and did team were very responsive during bidding and were quick to mobilize upon awarding the project. I was very impressed to have a working crew on site every day. This included providing assistance on weekends and nights. I am forever thankful for the dedication by Helio and his team, as we elected to live at home through the construction. I highly recommend HM Construction and welcome the opportunity to work with them on a future project. Their professionalism, knowledge and most of all, compassion set the bar high. Construction is never perfect, and challenges will arise...but the honest and hard working team at HM is one of the finest groups I’ve worked with during my 20 years in the field.

Helio and his team renovated an unfinished basement for me right before the holiday season. It went from completely unfinished to absolutely stunning basement that my children can now play in with all their toys and even affords me a little quiet time to watch TV in my man cave. I had put off this project for over 4 years. One call to Helio and he was there in timely fashion, analyzed the space and planned out the project with his crew. They were always on time everyday, worked religiously, never saw them goofing off or taking unneeded breaks and were professional at all times. They worked with all my ideas( believe me I had many as my wife and I had many questions and they answered each one and at times made recommendations that either saved us money or let us know some suggestions that may have worked better. They always gave us the choice. Their carpentry is on point. His electrician is top notch and knows what he is doing. His painters are masterful with their brushes. I had not one single complaint about the work done and they were priced fair for the job. Helio even took the time to follow up and see how we liked things even months after the work was completed. I recently used him again for some yard projects like fixing some outlets that were blown in the yard next to the pool & sent me his guys to help. His electrician fixed everything and had all working in a day’s work. These guys take pride in their work and I recommend them for all your home construction needs and/or renovations. Basement was unfinished. We wanted basement finished and completed with some closet spaces added, a section to do man cave and kids play area. Helio came and inspected our basement and listened to our wishes carefully. We had great communication of work timeline for completion, cost of project with several estimates based on materials used, His team was punctual everyday and showed up to work. Never had a moment where I felt they were just milking the clock or taking unnecessary breaks. If there was something either my wife or I didn’t like, they were open to changing it and getting it done right exactly how we wanted. Helio came by to see the work and checked in to make sure we were happy and satisfied with the work as it progressed. He worked with me on payment to break it up for flexibility. Even when Helio was not available, he had someone always available to check in consistently. His team (Juliano, JR, Vanilton, Marlon and his brother (his name escapes me at the moment) are top notch. I highly recommend him for other work and will use him for future projects. Even though work was being done between two end of year holidays, all work was done correctly per my needs, but most importantly done right t h e first time.

I found Helio via Sweeten, along with several other contractors. I met with 5 different contractors and immediately liked Helio. He was punctual on our first appointed for an estimate and when we were finally ready to do a massive kitchen overhaul after the holidays, I emailed him and hired him for the job. We had a very old kitchen that was closed off from the rest of our house, with vintage metal cabinets and no space for food storage. Helio had me work with his designer to get everything we needed for a functional and durable kitchen for five. Additional jobs were completed right away- for example, we wanted porcelain tile extended into the newly open dining area. This was done for an additional cost, but without any issues. The backsplash looks PHENOMENAL and the tile man is incredibly talented. I am very picky- there are zero complaints about his work! Helio answered all my concerns and questions about materials, etc. The painters were wonderful and even painted our stairwell area, which was in dire need of a coat of fresh paint. Helio did not charge me for this additional work. I am so pleased with the layout and functionality of our new kitchen. I even requested a granite windowsill to match my counters and this was done without issues for an additional cost. The sink and microwave cabinets ordered were incorrect and the carpenter worked his magic to fix both. I would recommend Helio and his awesome crew to everyone and would hire him back for other jobs! He is honest, reliable, and makes sure the job gets done right. I love cooking in my new kitchen with all my boys! Looks great!! I am including the before and after pictures of our kitchen.

Very pleased with the process and results. Helio and crew always confirmed satisfaction with completion of each step and each days work.

After coming late without calling , Mr Moto said I could not use the deal I claimed on Angie’s List to save money for this project. No where does the deal specify what type of project! [bait and switch]... He has never sent me a quote after that. He has my Phone and email information. This is not the way to earn a good reputation. Angie’s List should remove this contractor.. Don’t use HM services

We had a 2,000 2-story addition and renovation added on to our 1967 Newtown colonial by HM Construction and we were very pleased with the project. The end result met our expectations and came out on-budget. Helio and his team were very courteous and accommodating to requests. We had no issues with leaving them with full access to the house while we were away at work. They cleaned up every day and were professional in all aspects. All of the sub contractors were skilled and competent. Helio did a great job in holding his team accountable to any deficiencies that were encountered. For example, we were not satisfied with the quality of the quartz countertop cuts, and he ensured that it was redone properly without any argument. There also was some difficulty in the radiant flooring however Helio hired a completely new subcontractor to fix the issue. Based upon other quotes, we probably wouldn’t have been able to afford this project had it not been for the fair price that Helio had offered. Luckily, we were not in a rush to complete the project which made things less stressful for everyone. We started this project very late in the fall and went through the winter. In that regard, HM does not provide detailed milestone schedules like some other contractors might (this wasn't as important to us). However we sometimes were surprised at how sudden a decision was needed. In general, if something was urgent, Helio would accommodate. It helped significantly that we had a very detailed list of requirements as part of the contract. Not only did this make it easier for Helio to provide a fair price, it nearly eliminated any disagreements. The quality of work was very good; especially the carpentry, painting, and tile work. The tile guy spent an enormous amount of time making sure that our tiles were perfect which was greatly appreciated. Lastly Helio was very flexible in letting us (the homeowners) perform some of the work ourselves. HM completed the upstairs “shell” and we performed all the finish work. Had it not been for this, we probably couldn’t have afforded the project. Helio vouched for our work within the contract so that our bank would approve the loan. We also purchased a lot of the finishes/appliances on our own to make things easier. Overall we would recommend Helio for large renovation projects. He may not offer all the bells and whistles that a high end shop might, but if you know what you want done, he can make it happen and for a good price and a professional approach.

Working with Helio is an incredible experience. He is always fair, honest and treats his customer with respect. Another thing I really like about him is his level of responsiveness, he will always return you call on the same day.

Helio’s crew is impressive. From the day they arrived, it was amazing how much they accomplished each day, while also respecting our living space and our property. They make sure that all prep work is done thoroughly; this was especially evident with the wall paper removal and then prepping of the walls for painting. The painters were patient with helping me pick colors with wall samples. The carpenters did a terrific job installing the closet systems and new blinds. The electrician installed several new lights and also changed over all old sockets to three-way plugs and got all electrical switches working (many hadn’t worked in year!) All work was accomplished in just under 4 weeks. Helio is always just a phone call away, responding immediately to questions or concerns. He stops by the job site frequently to make sure the work is done to his standards. This is our third job with HM Construction. Previously we had a bathroom remodeled and the whole exterior of our house painted and repaired. I give them my highest recommendation!

Working with Helio was a great experience, and he made home renovation as stress-free as possible. From the outset, the quote I received from him was on par with others I received, but Helio threw in some extras, and it was clear that he was trustworthy and fair. His team of men worked efficiently and were unobtrusive. Helio was easy to communicate with and very responsive. I will definitely work with him again, and would recommend him to anyone who needs a contractor they can trust.

They were excellent! Helio showed up exactly on time and stayed in touch returning every call promptly as this was an out of town job on my late mother-in-law's home we were getting ready to put on the market. The timing of course, was a big issue. I would recommend H&M Construction and painting without any hesitation.

There were some delays in the beginning phase because of the city permits, but I appreciated Helio keeping me in the loop each day. The workers were respectful and responsive to changes. All in all I am very happy with the work and the company HM Contractor. I would suggest that if you use them, you know what colors, tiles, cabinets you need so that you don’t feel rushed.
