FRANKLIN ELECTRIC CO

Do not use this company. We have had a lot of different work crews help to do all the things needed to install our new pool. We felt grateful for these respectful hardworking crews. Then came Franklin Electric Co. The true devastation they left was shocking. They installed the additional electric panel we needed. They dug a three foot trench that was over 150 ft long and tore down a fence. All seemed fine until they were leaving. They refused to fill the trench. Or put the fence back. It was apparently not part of their services. What? Who is suppose to fill it? It is a danger and a huge mess. My husband begged "What can we do to get you to fill the trench you dug?". The work had already been approved by the town inspector. It was mid day and would have taken an hour with the correct equipment (which they had right there on site). We would have gladly paid an additional charge. They couldn't have cared less. Nope, not doing it. We called our pool company who referred them. They said electricians are considered prima donnas in this field. Wish we new that! Now we are left high and dry by Franklin Electric Co. Do yourself a favor and find another electrician to do your work.

Electrical problems were associated with our swimming pool. This company was recommended by our pool company. They had a jammed schedule but crammed us into their schedule within a couple of days and gave me an approximate time. Called and apologized the same day and advised they could not come as scheduled due to bad weather and emergencies (ours was not). Came promptly the next day as promised. Work was performed professionally, quickly, and courteously. Electrician went out of his way to ensure I was totally satisfied, and answered all of my questions. Although on a tight schedule, electrician handled a job not on the original order. Did not charge me for time needed to explain changes that were made to the electrical system. Office staff was equally professional and courteous. They are a bit pricy, but excellent service certainly compensated for the cost. I will recommend them to anyone who asks, and will certainly use them again if needed.

I called Franklin Electric because sparks were shooting out of our kitchen outlet. When their electricians examined the outlet, they insisted that nothing was wrong with the outlet and that the sparks were “normal.” (They also fixed a couple of lights while they were here.) A couple of weeks later, the sparks still continued and then the outlet started to make crackling sounds when I plugged in an appliance. I was concerned it was a fire hazard. When I called Franklin Electric, they told me I would have to pay another service charge for them to look at the same outlet again. We refused and called another electrician – who took the outlet out of the wall and showed me that the outlet was melted and that the wiring was loose. The other electrician replaced the outlet and now it (finally!) works fine. Franklin Electric totally dropped the ball on this one because they should have fixed the outlet in the first place. Instead, I had to pay another electrician to do their job. When I requested a refund from Franklin Electric, I received no response.

IT'S OK. ELECTRICIANS ARE HARD TO GET IN THIS AREA, AND THEY COME OUT AND THEY CHARGE A PRETTY HIGH PRICE. YOU CAN REALLY GET SHAFTED BY AN ELECTRICIAN SO TO GET AN OK ELECTRICIAN IS GREAT. THEY WERE JUST OKAY, NOTHING GREAT AND NOTHING TERRIBLE.
