I have been using Duke's Chimneys Llc for over 10 years for various house and yard projects. He is absolutely prompt and professional at all times. He clears my gutters; he re-insulated my attic; he cut up and removed an absolutely enormous oak that fell during a storm. I am actually not sure what Marco and his team can not do!

Marco arrived and made the necessary adjustments completely backing up his installation and service.

Wonderful!! Best response I've had in a long time. Promptly returned the phone call, set up a time to come out for and estimate and showed up when he said he would.

They were personable and on time. Noticed water stains inside the fireplace and checked to see what was cause. (When we bought the house, the inspector had mentioned the crack, but we didn't realize water was leaking in. Hadn't used the fireplace because of the lack of a cap and a nearby tree.) They left everything clean and neat. Overall very satisfied with the work.

The rebuild seemed great, but there was a leak, and not a great response in coming out. See above.

I obtained approximately 5-6 estimates, from chimney companies as well as masons. Duke's was not the least expensive. I received a couple of estimates directly from masons that were less expensive, but they did not want to do the rebuild from the garage roof line (they preferred to start a little higher than that point). Duke's was the first company that I received an estimate from, and a few weeks after meeting with all the chimney companies and masons, I decided to go with Duke's. The only little caveat I have is that the stones were stored on top of the roof (of the garage and the house) while the rebuild was happening, and I was a little worried about the weight and the potential hazard of stones rolling off (one of which did). It does not look like there's any roof damage (and apparently Duke's also does roofing work, so presumably the work wouldn't have caused roofing damage).

Great!!! Work was done in a timely maner. No mess to clean up.

The owner came out the same day that I asked for an estimate, but was late. He said he would not be able to do the chimney repair until the spring, but if I wanted to schedule a time in the spring, I could give him half of the estimated cost now to make sure that I would be at the top of his list. This seemed unreasonable, as the estimate was over a thousand dollars, and there would not be any work done for several months.

The provider installed a damper for my wood burning fireplace, cleaned the chimney and repaired some of the masonary at the top of the chimney. I highly recommend.

Owner came out to sight and left a quote. He seems to be a nice guy. We had an agreed to scope of supply of supply and price. Day before job was to be started (Thursday) he called up and said it was suppossed to rain the next day so wouldn't be able to show. I said okay (it never rained but you never know) lets do it next Friday. He agreed. Next Thursday I called to confirm and he said he would be there. He wanted 50% before job started to pay for materials I said no problem just bring me a receipt for the materials. He never showed up. I tried contacting him several times over the next few days and no response back. I gave him a D instead of an F because he seemed to be a nice guy, maybe it was a bad week for him.

We had constant leaking in our attic after heavy storms. We called our roofer who repeatedly came over to seal the flashing and to seal the masonry. The roofer felt that it would solve the problem; it didn't. Duke's was one of 5 different companies that I called for estimates and to get their thoughts on the problem. First of all, Marco (from Duke's) was the ONLY one who actually climbed up to look at the chimney--we have an old antique and the pitch of the roof is exceedingly steep. All of the roofers felt that there was a problem with the cap and from there, everyone had differing opinions about other problems that could be contributing to the leak--most felt the brick was crumbling and had to be rebuilt (but again, no one but Marco got on the roof!) Marco concurred that it was the cap, but repeatedly stated he felt it was only the cap and the flashing and that the brick was soaking up water (because of the broken cap) and leaching through the roof. He suggested a new flagstone cap (5'square--ridiculously hard to get up our steep pitched roof!), touch up grouting and new flashing. His price was at least 30% cheaper than everyone else. He came on time, everyone worked very hard, and the job was done in a day. I have waited 5 months before writing this review because I wanted to see how the chimney held up through severe downpours, rain with strong wind, etc... . It has been beautiful. No problems at all--THANKFULLY! I would never, ever hesitate in recommending Marco and his crew. They make have faith in service providers again!

Their price was good. They were responsive. They were on time. The quality of work done was good. They were courteous and professional.
