Barts Tree Service

This company took down a few trees for my next door neighbor on 8-26-2020 in Redding, CT 06896. They dropped two very large trees (without pruning or limbing them) onto my property at in Redding, CT 06896 by accident (they were supposed to drop them in the other direction) and destroyed two other very large trees on my property leaving much damage including two very large widow makers where my kids play. They came out and said they would rectify the issue, confirmed that it was their fault and mistake, and stated they would be back in a few days to clean up and remove the trees that they dropped as well as the damaged trees, many weeks later, they have not returned calls, emails or rectified the issue. My neighbors and I have attempted to contact them numerous times with no response. I called their insurance that is listed on their website, they do not currently have an active policy per the listed insurance provider.

The workers knew nothing about the work they were doing. They cut far into dead wood in our hedge of hemlocks. Knowing this would not grow back, when my wife saw what they were doing she ran out to stop them. They partonizingly told her it would grow back, two years later, none of it has leaving a vast empty space in what is supposed to be a visual barrier, they then trimmed overhanging branches from a vacant lot next door. And without asking or checking, they cut all the branches off of one side our Rose of Sharon trees. They are hideously deformed now. This species is known to have the main trunk split from the weight of the branches, now, with one half the trees gone on one side, they are lopsided and splitting all the more. We also had been quoted one price for the above jobs as well as the planting of another Rose of Sharon. We got a new bill after the hatchet job on our trees that included a bill for a planted Rose of Sharon that they never planted. I was away when this happened and have battling someone health issues since, now that I am better, I plan to take this up with the owner, The workers clearly knew nothing about trees, and were likely day workers picked up to fill the work-load. They were condescending to my wife and laid waste to our property.

I needed some tree branches removed that were overhanging onto the room. Matt was totally fair and professional at all levels. He came to the house to review the work and took meticulous notes and got it done on schedule and on spec. Will definitely use them again.

We called Bart's to have one of our trees inspected since it looked like it was suffering from rot, it was tilting, and we feared we might just need to have it removed (we really liked the tree!). Matt was very knowledgeable, and showed me that the tree indeed had an issue, but was in the process of healing itself, and was healthy, and would not require removal. All it really needed was to be pruned (it was very overgrown!). He also installed a cable brace over a very large branch hanging over our walkway. This way, if that branch ever did break, it wouldn't fall on our walkway (where we might be walking). We also had him prune a crab apple tree in our yard that was also very overgrown. From the time we called Matt, he came out the same day, gave us a detailed explanation of what was going on, and a simple solution. His crew was friendly, came right on time, they worked quickly, they cleaned everything up and were on their way in only a few hours. They were like a well oiled machine. I'd hire them again for my tree service needs.

The job went very well. Bart's crew were very skilled and did a neat job. The tree was overhanging my house and they were able to remove it with no issues. I would recommend using Bart's Tree Service to anyone.

Awesome from start to finish. It was poetry in motion to watch these guys do their job silently, quickly, and professionally.

The owners name is Matt. He quoted a three week wait time but was able to cut down the pine trees earlier and then came back the next week to finish the job. One of the reasons why I choose them is because they have the right equipment to do the job, especially for the tree that was hanging over the electrical wire.

I contacted Matt to get a quote to grind a few stumps we had in the front yard. I especially needed one removed that was close to the house as soon as possible since it was interfereing with construction of a new patio. He emailed me the quote and we talked on the phone to scheduled a time. We scheduled the coming Thursday since rain was forecast for early in the week, but when the weather turned out to cooperate, his guys were here Tuesday afternoon and got the job done! They were professional, friendly and helped me to identify trees on our lot that I asked about for future maintenance. We will be using them again in the future!

Very professional! Barts tree service removed two trees and trimmed another very large tree near power lines at a reasonable price. They were quick responding when we had questions and provided proof of all licensing required. Barts arrived when they said they would and left the property in very good condition despite a difficult property to maneuver on.

Called Bart's Monday morning after my wife heard a bad cracking noise coming from a large maple tree that towers over our kitchen. We were both worried the tree would fall on our roof. Matt came over that afternoon, examined the tree and recommended that a cable be installed to stabilize the tree. A few days later, his crew installed the cable and trimmed a few branches. We were most relieved at his quick response in assisting us and how neatly the job was done. Highly recommended.

It took 5 guys 10 hrs to cut one of our mature white oaks after if fell in a storn into our neighbor's yard. Matt was not only responsive but his team was in my house the day after it fell. As you can imagine, this was a huge inconvenience to my neighbors and he rose to the ocassion. He explained exactly what they would do and sent me an estimate a few hours fater visiting my house. I highly recommend Matt and his crew, they were corteous and incredibly thorough.

We received several estimates and decided to go with another service. It was a tough decision.

The crew arrived on time each day. They were well prepared in advance. They had the whole array of equipment and techniques available to them such as bucket truck, crane, wood chipper, and several tree climbers who alternated. They utilized ropes and pulleys and made use of the leverage of the tree itself when removing large limbs. They were very skilled and proficient and worked as a team. I saw the utmost attention to detail and safety. It was better than watching a high flying act at the circus. Several of the trees were large and completely over the roof. Yet, they completed the job without incident. Now that I have seen them work, I could have been napping in the house during removal and would have felt safe. They cleaned up afterwards. I would highly recommend them for a large or small job and would certainly call them again. They worked diligently for 2 1/2 days till everything was done.

Bart's Tree Service is fantastic! We've used them several times, and they are always the epitome of professionalism. They try very hard to keep the cost reasonable. Matt, the representative we've dealt with, is superb. He modified the job proposal several times so that we could stay within our budget. They showed up exactly when they said they would, and cleaned up the site so that you can't even tell they were there! They noticed that one dead branch not included in the job had the potential to be dangerous, so they added that to the job free of charge. I give Bart's Tree Service my highest recommendation!

My experience with Barts could not have been better, they do what they say, when they say they are going to do it all in a very professional and safe manner. It can be very difficult to manage contractors to get work done, but there no management necessary with Barts. I have used them for tree maintenance services as well as firewood delivery, I could not be happier.

Removed a fruit tree, trimmed another fruit tree, took down broken branches on a large tree and trimmed overhanging branches on driveway. Thoroughly cleaned up all that was taken down. Work was done promptly and professionally. I would definitely call on them again

Fantastic Professional crew, prompt service. After the removal you couldn't tell any work done - the area was left spotless, including driveway where chipping was done. Provided an estimate that was very fair, came on the date we had set and did the work promptly and efficiently. This was the third time I had used Bart's Tree Service. They are by far the best in the state!

The job went very well. Barts was the only provider who said they would not need to get a truck on our lawn, and therefore there was no need to cut branches of trees that were on the path from the driveway to the backyard. The job was done as discussed and per written estimate. We were not present during the job but were very satisfied with the results. Owner, Matthew Bartelme, is very professional, personable, and very responsive. I will definitely use him for all our future tree work. I would recommend him highly.

The estimator was prompt, courteous and answered many questions so I could get the results I wanted. The crew was out on time on the scheduled day. They left the mulch from the ground stumps (per request) but cleared away the other pruning.

When Matt came to take a look at the work I needed done, he gave me several options and also made suggestions for taking care of some other issues that I hadn't noticed. There was no pressure and he was very patient with my questions. He gave me an estimate on the spot and stuck to that estimate when all the work was completed. When the day came, Matt arrived on time and got right to organizing his crew and telling them what was needed. They listened carefully and obviously took their jobs very seriously. There was no joking around or making a lot of noise. They were friendly but hardworking. The work was finished in half the time that I thought it would be and I could hardly notice that they'd been there at all. Everything was neat and tidy. I was very impressed.

Matt was very responsive when called for a quote. He took the time to review not only the trees we had called him for a quote as well as reviewed any needs and suggestions for others with no push to do more than what he was quoting for. Matt called the night before we were scheduled that due to weather we needed to reschedule for the following day. He and his team showed up promptly ready to get going. They were professional and several times when I asked a question were very responsive. The team not only elminated the dead branches I requested but cleaned up more than I was expecting which was a nice surprise. They cleaned up the yard and when my husband came home actually said he only knew they had been there because the trees were down, wood was stacked, and wood chips were in a pile. I was very happy and would recommend Bart's Tree Service again. Actually, already had a neighbor ask for their number to come give a quote.
