Allard's Oil Heat & Gas Service

The technicians and owner do not have a grasp of the requirements for piping a heating system as the work performed was never going to work. The job was to split a second floor zone out of a mono-flow system and they failed to pick up all the radiators on the second floor, did not establish the flow properly and failed to discover limitations in the existing system that caused the changes to fail. I subsequently paid $1,000 to a plumber to restore the changes and make necessary repairs that Allard missed. I am seeking relief of $825 out of the initial charge (as the install of the oil tank was completed, albeit with limitations).

I called to get information on them as a possible new oil supplier, and they offered to send someone out to talk to me personally. They came out that day, within half hour or so from my initial phone call with contract information. They spent about an hour looking over the oil tank and furnace and talking about what they offer in types of contracts. They had two major incentives: First,they perform a complimentary yearly furnace cleaning, and second, their price was 20 cents lower than their competitors and they offered an additional 5 cent reduction on the first fill-up. After the contract was signed, they were out the next day to fill the tank and within a week they came out to clean the furnace. The furnace cleaning took about 45 minutes and after the cleaning, he took time to explain what he had done. He found a water leak, a slow drip in the pipe, which he fixed and then proceeded to clean and seal the rust so we would not have ongoing issues.
