Painting By Marge Inc

I hired Painting by Marge because they painted a house on our street years ago and did a good job. I wanted a professional painter because I am not the most observant person, and being satisfied is my default mode; I am not a critical person. The house was supposed to be painted the same color and I had a can of the original paint on hand. However, Marge was rarely on site. Her crew did the whole job with little oversight. The price I paid for the work was well over the original estimate and the job took a lot longer. I still would have been happy if I could have been happy with the end product. In fact, I convinced myself I was happy, I was so relieved it was finally done. I thought the house looked shinier and brighter but I wanted to believe I made the right decision in hiring Marge and my money was well spent. However, I could not help but notice the color was more orange than the barn (which had matched the house), and the window pane trimming, which they did not do. I painted a piece of wood with the original paint and then the new paint on the other end. They were not at all the same color. I contacted Marge, but she told me I was wrong and would not discuss it. I had already paid her in full. I should have noticed the difference in color immediately, but I had faith in her professionalism. At the time I thought if you asked for a house to be painted the same color, the painter would verify that it was the same color. The crew must have realized it was not the same color and Marge was not paying attention. Eventually I will hire a handy man to repaint the house. Meanwhile whenever I am mowing the lawn, going round and round the house, I think of what an idiot I am to have trusted Painting by Marge.

Marge and her crew are outstanding. She went above and beyond to make us happy - great example of this: we wanted our front door to be painted in time for guests to arrive at Christmas; she picked up the door, and brought it to her heated garage where she got it done in half a day. Another example is that she removed all of the window hardware, and gave it all a new coat of matte black before reinstalling it (no extra charge). She also re-installed the sash pins in the old double-hung single pane windows. Her power- washing crew (wooden deck and playground) is also punctual and thorough. The interior paint job at our house was done efficiently and thoroughly, and we were always impressed by her crew's attention to detail and their conscientious clean-up at the end of the day. You might find someone to do your job for a little less money, but with Marge you still get more than you pay for. Good value, good experience all around.

Our best experience ever with a painting company! Marge and her crew deserve the excellent reviews that called our attention to her in the first place. Marge inspected the job with us; we discussed colors and timing and the little touches that make a big difference; the work itself was done promptly and professionally. Communication back and forth with her was easy, both by phone and by email. Her formal proposal--complete with photographs of the rooms in question--was superb. At every point we knew exactly what was going to be done and when. We recommend Painting by Marge without reservation. .

They have previously done exterior and interior painting. They are by far the best painters we have ever used. They are careful, on time, clean up everything after they paint, very reasonable. I would use them again for any painting needs I had. They are the best!

Marge and the workers she hired were exceptionally responsive, punctual and courteous. The work quality was superior. The exterior wood siding was original and in poor condition. The refinishing restored the wood to I would would say is original condition. I would definitely hire Marge again. Her prices are not inexpensive, but all of the advice I got before hand said, "If you can afford Marge, go with her. She is the best." I would agree.

The company provided excellent work. There is constant follow-up on the project and when work is needed it is done.

She is excellent and really good. I would highly recommend her. The workers were very professional. The price is reasonable. She really makes sure that good job is done. She stays on top of it and is really good. The workers were very business like. All seemed to know what they were doing and get right with it. There was no fault with them. They come here to paint and that’s what they did. She uses good paint and she gets right backs to us. She is here when she says she is going to be here. She is the only one that I would use.

Marge and company were excellent to work with. Marge responded promptly to an emailed inquiry for an estimate. She was prompt for all appointments and gave regular progress reports. Her price was competitive, and the estimate was well documented and included pictures, which made it easier to discuss over the phone. Marge was quite willing to add and remove items to try to make it work within our budget. We eventually settled on an arrangement where they did all the prep, the hard to reach parts of the house, and we did the bits that we could safely manage in a reasonable time frame. The actual work was done as competently as the business side of things. The workers showed up on time, did a great job, and cleaned up after themselves. The job finished in the time allotted (which due to the weather, included some weekend work) and we are quite satisfied. We would definitely use Painting by Marge again in the future.

She is very good and professional and does excellent work. She is here when she says she will be. Her price is very reasonable. I am really pleased with her. I would rate her highly and would use her again in the future if necessary.

She was very efficient and good. I probably would have used her, but I got a quote from a local guy, she was a ways away, and he was less expensive. A number of my neighbors had used him and I had actually seen him working. She seemed fine though. She did a very thorough job. She gave me a quote that was extremely thorough for every possible thing that she would do. It actually helped me when I was thinking of other painters as well because I kind of had an idea of what was going on. One of the things that the guy who I picked did was to ask me if he could bring in a Benjamin Moore representative to make sure he was doing the right thing. She listed that she would have done the same thing the representative suggested, so I'm confident that she would have done a fine job. It was a bit more expensive probably because she was a ways a way.

They were here on time and did the work requested very professionally and neatly. It was wonderful!
