+ -1 moreThe simple part of the job was done without problem in 12 minutes. The other part of the job of repairing and/or replacing a balast was beyond the capability of the electrician or the man wasn't capable or know how to fix the problem.
Description of Work: Called this electrician to replace a light switch for a family member. He was able tochange and reinstall switch and plate. His minimum charge to visit was $85. He spent aboput 12 minutes to do the job. I asked him to change a balast and flourescent light bulb that was producing a loud humming sound. The replacement of the balast seemed beyond his skill level and he told me that he didn't think the change of the balast would be able to stop the noise. He ofered no other option. The electrician only lived 2 miles from my house. I felt I was way overcharged for this geographical market and was disappointed that he was not able to resolve a rather routine job of replacement a balast and light bulb.
