LAWNTAILORS

The job went very well. Two of the guys were there full time, the stone mason and his assistant. The arrived on time each morning, worked hard all day long and left the site in good shape every night except for the pile of natural stone that they were working with sitting in the lawn. Upon completion they left the extra stone for us to use where we wanted and cleaned up all evidence that they'd been here. The wall looks GREAT and at this writing has held up well for 2.5 years with no problems.

This was a bad experience. They did not show up for work when they said they would. The workers were careless. They didn't properly rake the top soil after seeding. They damaged some siding and a gutter on the side of my house with a piece of equipment and now we are disputing the charges because they are almost twice what the estimate was.

Work on the yard began on June 4th, seven weeks after contracted date of "last week of April." They tried to deliver a load of topsoil to our backyard the morning after 2" of rain, and got the truck stuck in our side yard. I looked outside to find them wrapping a rope around a tree in the front yard, 25' away from the truck, in order to get the truck unstuck. My efforts to stop this procedure resulted in a heated argument, but I was successful. My phone calls to Mr. Connolly, who never was here again after the contract signing, went unreturned. Finally, a larger truck came to pull the first truck out of the ruts. By June 7th, the topsoil had been spread, and the seeded area was done. They said that they would return on June 8th with the sod. No one showed up. No one called. They came back on June 10th to lay some sod, but they didn't bring enough to finish the job, and they walked on the seeded area. The job was finally completed, including side yard repair, on June 16th.

THEY DO A NICE JOB. THEY SHOW UP EVERY WEEK WITHOUT MY HAVING TO TELL THEM TO. THEY MAKE A MULCH PILE FOR ME BY FILLING IN A LARGE HOLE NEXT TO MY GARAGE. THE COST IS REASONABLE.
