Danbury Chimney Cleaning

At the time of the service, I assumed they knew what they were doing and didn't monitor them. I contacted Danbury Chimney Cleaning to clean a chimney and a pellet stove insert several months ago. They were supposed to also help with a chimney crown repair but didn't have the necessary ladder. While they initially texted me to schedule the follow up service, they never found a time they could come back since June. They have since stopped returning text messages or calls. Today I noticed that my pellet stove shows an error that is clearly the result of their service. When I started to look into the stove, I found they didn't screw the fire pot tight (I could hand loosen it). I also saw some ash in there despite it not being used since cleaned. I pulled off the back plate and found they didn't even vacuum that. This is something I do regularly during the season, so it's inexcusable that this wouldn't be done as part of an annual service. I will probably need to contact the company that installed the stove to get them to fix the mess that this company left behind. I definitely do not recommend them. Extremely unreliable.

After cleaning my chimney, which has a stove insert, our CO alarms were triggered after the first burn. I called them the next day, since it seemed too coincidental that the cleaning wasn't part of the cause. After first recommending that I call if it happens again, they agreed to come back out to make sure there were no issues when I insisted. After following up with them twice, they never called me back to schedule a return visit. I had another company come out. They said that soot loosened by the cleaning accumulated at the top of the insert (and was not cleaned), which likely restricted air flow and resulted in the CO in the house. I have had no recurring CO issues now that the other company cleaned the chimney.

Both Doug and Brendan were outstanding!! They were on time, very personable and professional. (They even had a great conversation with my 12 year old son about FortNite!!!) That was cool. Anyway, you would never know they were here as they didn't leave one speck of dust behind. I was notified by their sister (I think) from the office that they were running early. I forgot her name but she is also very personable. I could not have a had better experience with this company. I feel as though I have know them for years. They can count on me calling them again. Oh and thanks for the discount of 20 bucks!! :-) Give them a call and you will be happy you did. :-)

I got a return call promptly and scheduled the service at a convenient time for me (I work full time and have limited weekday avail). The guys were prompt and the work was completed without any problems. Would hire again.

Excellent, as hoped for from a local family business.

The chimney cleaner was scheduled to arrive between 10 and 10:30 am. I waited and waited. Finally, at noon, I went out and when I returned at 1 pm, there was a business card from this chimney cleaning service in my door. This is the first time I've had less than good to excellent results using a contractor found on Angie's List. I have limited time on weekends and for someone not to show up and not bother calling to tell me they'll be late is disrespectful. Whether they were just running late or whether there was some sort of "emergency," it only takes a minute to call a customer. In my opinion, a contractor like this shouldn't even be listed on Angie's List. It really brings down the caliber of other Angie's List members.

We had a "puff" from a clogged fuel nozzle in our furnace. After the furnace was repaired and the immediate area cleaned up by the oil company technician, he advised us that the chimney was also clogged with soot. Since our house had to be deep cleaned and all our clothing needed restoration, we needed immediate service. I called Danbury Chimney and spoke to a very understanding woman (Mrs. Moss) who scheduled us for next day service. Our chimney was professionally cleaned and both young men took all the necessary time to do a great job. Danbury Chimney Cleaning and Angie's List should be commended for providing homeowners with honest and reasonable service.

Excellent service. From scheduling the service to job completion , everything was done very professionally . The team arrived on time put down coverings to ensure there was no mess swept the chimney thoroughly and cleaned up any soot. Nobody tried to all me additional service but offered advice when I asked for it. I would definitely use them again.

The two sweepers (Justin and Nick, I believe) were professional, thorough and very knowledgable. They swept my fireplace chimney and repaired a few cracks in my heatalator. I spoke to another chimney repair company in the area and they had told me my fireplace was unusable and my only option was to buy an insert which would have been upward of $2500!! Danbury Chimney Cleaning is a Trustful and HONEST family run company who will have my family's business for life. Thank you guys!

They showed up right on time, were respectful of our furniture and flooring, cleaned up when done and the price was fair and reasonable. In addition, after they inspected the second chimney they told us it did not need to be cleaned, which speaks volumes about the integrity of the company. Not only would I use them again, I am having them quote some external chimney repair work and I fully expect the pricing and work to be excellent once again.

they arrived on time and were very professional and personable. We just bought the house and had no idea the condition the chimney or stove would be in. when they went to clean it, they were astounded at how much build up there was. the previous homeowners must have never cleaned it! it was almost completely filled with soot!! the chimney sweeps swiftly went to work cleaning it all out. they left our place spotless and we were charged the price quoted even though I'm quite sure it was more work than anticipated. It was a great service and I certainly intend to continue using them in the future!!

i gave danbury chimney inc a 600.00 deposit for a chimney liner install on 8-11-14 at my home,about 5:00 pm,they left with out giving me a copy of the contract ,they were asked to please measure for the right length of liner, they said he could tell a standard 30'liner kit would work from looking at my cieling inside home .it was not a "custom"liner just a standard "kit"that they would cut any extra off after install.they were informed i was to pick up stove that evening,and after finding out it was now back ordered i asked if a contract stating a new date for install could be completed she said no.and when i informed her of the three day right of cancellation in ct law, she told me she never heard of such a thing!at that point i requested to keep liner i had "paid" for at my home till stove came, she got agitated ,and said i had insulted her business,i then attempted a fair compromise of hooking up my old wood stove in basement instead of the new one [its exactly the same hook up]they never looked at specifications for either stove because again there standard 6"liner connections.now she was yelling at me and said she would not send her boys to the appointment friday.to recap : i never received copies showing receipt of parts etc .and what happened to them,i lost my deposit, i lost a day of work,it's now sept 27,and i still have not recieved my copy of contract,or any of the deposit back,despite repeated requests.asking the state ct to look into this business they informed me they were in business less then a year. not back to 1962!

They came, cleaned my chimney, fireplace and checked my burner flute. It went well; they did a great job. They were very professional and it was a very quick, efficient visit. I would no doubt use them again and recommend them to others. Thank you Angie's List, you made it happen.

The guys came in, looked up the chimney and said yes it needed cleaning. They got their tools covered the floor and went on to clean the chimney. They cleaned up after they were done (not that there was any mess) and left.Very professional.

Brendan was responsive to my inquiries. He arrived on schedule, did a good job, and was very professional. Per my request, he provided advice on future maintenance and repairs. He did not try to sell me services that I did not yet need.
