The first day when they arrived and we discussed what they would do. I had shut off the water already so that the water wouldn't be hot. I also wanted them to remove/replace a valve near the boiler that had started leaking. Removing the old equipment came first and was fairly quick. I could hear the pipes draining from upstairs (I worked from home during the job). Installation of the new equipment took the bulk of the time. They had quite and array of expertise, working on the concrete to run some of the oil line through the floor, running wires and hooking up the electric to the boiler. I went downstairs to check on their progress several times, and they were always glad to discuss what they were doing and answer any questions I had. They asked me a few times to confirm that they had done things as I expected them to. The whole qualify of the job was great. At the end of the first day there was no insulation and some of the pipes sagged a bit, but I had heat in the house again (temp outside was around 30F, so during the day it started getting colder inside. Also, when sawing the concrete floor they sent a cloud of dust over the basement and into the house. I'm not sure if there is a better way to do this, but I wish I had been warned.
The second day they were only here a couple hours, and spent time checking for leaks (they said they found two, although I never noticed any), strapping up the pipes, and insulating the pipes. In the end the job looks great. I have no trouble recommending their work.
Their technicians are friendly and very respectful of our home. They are very punctual (sometimes early) and they work hard. We called once on a holiday weekend when we had an emergency and the tech was super-helpful and nice about it, and told us what we could do to safely avoid a weekend service call. The techs do quality work and don't take shortcuts.
When our new water heater started leaking less than a year after they installed it, they arranged for the manufacturer's rep to come check it with them and provided us with a new installed water heater at absolutely no cost to us. We feel like Cousins really stands behind the products they sell and install.
We buy our oil from them most of the time; we have never been on their budget billing plan but the market rates are in line with other local oil companies.
