Very professional, the price included the service call, which was about $60.00. However, they charged about $130 for a $10.00 part and about 10 minutes of labor. They did do a quality job, no problems.

Scott was knowledgeable about both ac and plumbing. We had a very good meeting for about an hour to discuss two decent size projects. He indicated quote would be out next day. I did not receive and after a week reached out to vendor and then one more time by phone spoke to reception and they said he would call. Never received callback or quote for work. Left me confused as to why vendor would take time to come out but never make a proposal. It's been 4 weeks, getting alternate quotes.

One Saturday evening we noticed that the house was getting chilly and that the heat didn't seem to be working. Couple that with a "burned candle" smell and I knew something was wrong. Saturday night on one of the coldest nights of the winter with no heat- oh, and a newborn at home? And did I mention it was Valentine's Day? We had worked with Steve Basso Heating and AC before so we gave them a call. I was called back immediately and the person who called me told me that all the trucks were out on jobs already and that he was not sure they would be able to get to us. I told him about the newborn and the no heat and he said he would get back to me one way or the other. Right when he said he would, he called back to say that there would be a truck at my house that night to take care of us. When the repairman arrived, he introduced himself as Steve. I asked if he was Steve Basso and he said yes. His guys were not going to make it so he made a point to come himself. Super service. Steve is not just the boss, he's pretty handy with the knowledge and the tools and was able to replace our blower and had the house warming up before we could get too cold. He was efficient and really professional. I can not say enough how glad we were that we called Steve Basso Heating that night. We will be setting up a service contract with him to maintain our HVAC and avoid problems in the future. I would recommend Steve and his company extremely highly.

They were good. They were professional and on time. The price was reasonable, I was satisfied.

We moved into our home and six weeks later our oil boiler was leaking water. We called in several different vendors including oil companies and decided that Steve Basso Plumbing offered the best option for us. Scott was great to work with, responding to emails and our questions. Scheduling had a few snafus, but Scott accommodated us and made sure we were happy. His team worked an entire day from about 10am until 8pm to get our system up and running and made sure all zones were working properly before leaving.

The first day of service the technician was on time and did an estimate encompassing all three apts.He called me and received payment ahead of the job(s) being performed as is their policy. He then went to purchase a part and continue the repairs. That was the beginning of a week long ordeal.the first day was a thursday and I assumed there were no complications because i was not contacted thurs pm or anytime friday. When I called friday pm for a status report,the dis patcher could not tell me a)what work,if any was performed thurs or fri. b)when or if the technician would return. If I hadn't called fri night,no one would have called at all.Eventually,after 10 minutes of detective work,it appears an estimate was written but not sent to me on line as agreed. No one came to the house friday at all. I was then told the next day available was tuesday, as they were very busy. Tuesday came and went and no one came to work and no one called. I called again and talked to an owner and was assured someone would come out wed with a helper and finish the job wed.nesday,starting at 9am. Wednesday am came and went;no one showed. Later in the day,my tenant called to inform me at 4:15pm that someone had just arrived and was doing something;finally.No one called that evening. thursday,the tech called me about 1100am to say he needed another $400 part.By the end of the day,he was finished.Everything was operating properly. It took a week to do thejob that should have been done in 1 or 2 days. no communication from the office and minimal from the tech.How did they make it on the list;pay 9.99 ?

Unfortunately, during the above consultation, my husband had a serious accident resulting in an ambulance ride and five days in the hospital. A couple of weeks later I called to set up another consultation to get the project started and was directed by the office staff to leave a voice message on Mr. Basso’s office phone. When he hadn’t returned the call after a couple of weeks I again left a message. On the third call, several weeks later, Kevin, in the office, answered and told me that right after I hung up he would contact Mr. Basso via his cell phone and have him call me right back. That was two months ago and Mr. Basso still has not returned the call. I find this situation most distressing since our past experience with Mr. Basso and all of the technicians had been exceptionally satisfying and my husband and I had wanted the project to be handled by them.

The 'Cost of Service' quoted, was an accumulation of multiples visits during the terrible winter of 2014. Our home has several heating zones, but in December of 2013 a couple of the zones apparently shut down resulting in near freezing temperatures. We had several different heating and plumbing contractors to the house trying to find out where the problem was. The Steve Basso company was tenacious in repeatedly coming to the house (despite the heavy snow and icy temperatures), re-purging the system, checking all the cold pipes for leaks, ice or air 'plugs' and re-starting the system. After several house calls it was finally discovered that a faulty relay switch was the culprit. The switch was replaced and the system has been working fine ever since. We would defiantly recommend the Steve Basso Heating and Plumbing Co. as a reliable and dependable organization. All the men who came to our house were very knowledgable, skilled and exhibited complete professionalism at all times.

He was honest, professional and did a great job solving our immediate needs. We had an issue with getting the quote but Scott was very apologetic when the issues were identified. He had a staffing issue and an email address issue. He was very responsive everytime I contacted after he resolved the issues with communication. I'll break this review up into the two different solutions he implemented. Note that the owners (Scott and Steve) where on site the first day, and Scott returned for the following two visits to ensure that the work was done properly. 1) He added a ultra efficient ductless heat/ac system for a 400sqft room between our garage and house. This room originally used two vents and a return from the central heat/ac in the upstairs above the garage. Since the old central system was only 1 zone and the thermostat was in the main room above the garage, we had wasted a lot of oil and electricity heating/cooling the smaller room when we rarely use the upstairs. The ductless unit was installed professionally and they were very careful not to disrupt my wife's veggie garden outside. We love the new system and feel that it's expanded our ability to use the room year round. They took the time to explain how the system works, maintenance and what to watch out for. 2) Our house is an old farmhouse. The central heat/ac was installed decades ago in a less than ideal duct layout. On Scott's initial visit he did a lot of measurements of the duct layout, vents and returns. His proposal was to divide the house into two zones: North and South, each zone having an upstairs and downstairs floor. While not an ideal scenario, it is much improved verses the old single zone layout. He suggested upgraded thermostats that allow for secondary wireless personal comfort handheld thermostats. These allow us to tell each zone to measure the temperature in either the upstairs or the downstairs. He spend a lot of extra time reconfiguring the ductwork downstairs to improve airflow and move vents to the proper zone of the system for certain rooms. While he could have completed the work in 2 days, he chose to come back for a third day and configure the duct work in a much more labor intensive way to ensure that it's done right and has proper airflow. He never asked for additional compensation even though it was obvious that he didn't figure this additional work in his original quote. Overall: This experience taught me something about patience. Initially when I had trouble getting the quote, I almost gave up on Basso. However, when I left him feedback on his website he finally got my message and responded immediately. The difference that made me give Scott Basso a second chance was that he provided a very detailed quote, with model numbers, options and links to online information about all the components that he was proposing. He was willing to talk to me about the proposal and different ways that we could go about the work. No other HVAC company was willing to provide me with that level of detail or discuss the options like Scott Basso did. So while Basso's prices were slightly more then others (but not the highest), in the end I selected Basso over other contractors because of his level of attention and detail and how responsive he was once we finally connected. Finally, I should note that they did a service of my two central AC units at the same time. They diagnosed a failing part that had been causing problems for years but other HVAC companies failed to identify. A quick switch of the part that they had a spare for on the truck and our central AC was working perfectly!

No response after a couple messages never called back. Very unprofessional. I had been a plumbing customer and satisified but unprofessional not to return calls. I called them because a neighbor had their unit replaced by them and was satisfied but they also had responsiveness issues on quote. I guess they don't care or need any new business. It would be better to say they are too busy to bid. It was the owner who was supposed to call back.

He called to confirm the appointment, was friendly, on time, and reasonably priced. He also cleaned up well after himself after the job.

We are very happy with them. Specifically, one of their technicians, Brian, is wonderful. He has done a good job. He is honest, he will tell you whether things works. He does things that need done and doesn't do things that don't. He is very reasonable and honest. If you don't need it done, he will tell you. There is also a gentleman, Kevin who works in the office, who has been very easy to work with.

Steve Basso's company is my go-to plumber/air-conditioning guy.

The four-zone heating system was replaced last May (2013). I waited for some cold weather before reviewing here. The system works very well and definately is saving me on fuel costs. There was one start-up problem in December, and Steve's people came quickly and repaired it.

Could not get a quote. Called six times over a two month period and left messages with people, but no response. According to someone that works there people complaing about the timing (or ever) getting a quote is not uncommon.

This is the second time I have called Steve Basso to repair my air conditioners. Both times they were punctual and thorough and explained everything that needed to be done. While the repairs seemed pricey as I am a new home owner, they fixed the problems right away and I was extremely happy with the service. Of course the AC broke down in the middle of a heat wave and despite their busy schedule, they were able to send someone over within 24 hours. I will definitely use them again.

I chose a DIFFERENT contractor who came out and provided a quote within 24 hrs and did a fabulous job within 3 weeks.

They are very good, but they couldn't do the job we are working on now, because after the storm, they have been very busy, they have about four hundred basements to do. However, I would highly recommend them. They were on time and on estimate. When we signed a deal for the plumbing work, he lived up to it, we worked out a time, and it was good work. The price was a little on the high end but he also has a reputation for good work and delivering on time, so we paid a little bit more for them.
