Had a terrible experience with this company. They are super expensive and try to upsell you. And their customer service is awful. Many staff are young, inexperienced and rude. They like to tell you that you signed a contract yet they don't follow the contract.

Northeast Generator is the only company that I will use because they have gone above and beyond my expectations with cheerful and professional service. I have peace of mind knowing I can depend on them to do an excellent job on keeping my standby generator in tip top shape. I most wholeheartedly recommend them for all your generator needs.

Northeast Generator installed our prior unit and performs repair service to make sure that our standby generator is ready to go when needed. We live in an area where power failures during winter storms are not unusual and the power stays out for 5-7 days. We need a strong dependable generator and the Generac one installed by NorthEast never fails. It is a major purchase but an essential one. North East Generator provides commercial and residential service and is a well-established company with a good reputation. We chose a generator powered by propane. The replcement took place without a hitch and the unit self-tests every week.

The problem was not fixable. The service manager advised me to contact the manufacturer directly and gave me guidance on the best way to explain the problem. I did as he told me and the manufacturer responded in a professional manner also.

I would advise you not to do business with this company. First of all, they were very vague as to how big a generator they would recommend that we buy ("be careful you don't buy too small a one, you could have problems if a power failure occurs at a moment when there is a big load")--and then having agreed to buy a 35kw unit, offered us a "deal" at the last minute on a 48kw which i have subsequently learned is unnecessary, even for a very large home. Second, the unit was installed without a surge protector between it and the power line--and a result, in the first major storm, there were a surge of power in the power line (apparently a wire 2000 feet down the street from our unit) was struck by lightening. The circuitbreakers protecting the house duly tripped, but the generator electronic were fried. I subsequently learned from the Darien CT town hall that although they 'recommend' that units be protected by surge protectors, it is not law, and some companies install them automatically and some do not. You would have thought for a $45,000 project they would have found a few $ for a surge protector at time of installation. Finally, the company's service is terrible: to be precise, the guys that work for them are very nice and well qualified. But the management of the firm is extremely greedy and only interested in new sales. After our generator was damaged it took them--despite multiple requests--weeks to order the new parts and then weeks to install them. And they do nothing before they have your credit card number.; I also complained to the company's president in writing and he did not even deign to reply to my email.

Punctual arrival, very professional

Repaired what they came to do. It took them over 1 year to fix the initial problem. Wrong billings, missed dates, service people that did not know how to fix the generator, etc. They worked with me to resolve it but it was tough.

Provider told me I needed about $500 worth of work. So, I checked on line about these parts I needed and became suspicious. The part costs were very minor so the service fees became the overwhelming factor. I called a competitor who was way less to do the job I was told I needed and when they came to do the job, they said my part was working perfectly. So, I never would have needed to the part or service if Northeast was accurate and truthful. But, I paid $175 for the new suppliers work and was very happy. they could have screwed me but they said the new part was not necessary. I would not recommend Northeast although their bi-annual service fees are competitive.

The service is very good. They show up and do what they are suppose to do. They are very competent. We had certain requirements and they found us a generator which met all those requirements that we have. Their prices are reasonable.

The experience was fine; they came within a couple of days after I called them. They diagnosed my problem right away and had the parts in the truck so they were able to fix it right away.

Do expect a long wait for service. Do not expect a bargain or even a resonalbe price.

They are pretty good and responsive. The only objection with them is that they charge from portal to portal and they are quite away from us.
