Couldn't be easier or quicker. Hire this man. Look no further. He knocked $200 off my estimate because we decided not to do one segment. If only all service people were as easy and professional. I'd hire him back without thinking about it, and recommend him to anyone.

He did a good job the first time he came. The second time he did a bad job. He was not as thorough or hands on as he had been the first time we used him.

Response from One Stop Home Repairs
I am not disputing my second evaluation from this customer. My guy did screw up her roof but it was corrected and repaired properly after the error in installation was found. This person no longer works for my company. Unfortunately, company growing pains sometimes do not allow me to be at all job sites at the same time and if I was there the error would not have occured. For this reason I have taken on a partner who can help me more closely monitor the work of our employees.
Eric Clamage and his team more than met our expectations on price, quality and timeliness of execution. To put things in perspective, my wife and I had a set amount to spend, needed to have the work done quickly and wanted it done right, yet lacked the time to hire individual experts. Eric answered my call within a day, and made an appointment to come by the house with his electrical assistant Shawn to assess what needed to be done. Both have very deep experience from working on much larger jobs. Shawn was particularly helpful to us in deciding on the aesthetics of the placement of the ceiling lights. He also pointed out that our 200 amp breaker box was seriously overloaded and that we were missing ground fault interrupters on five outlets. We agreed to pay extra to have the job done right and to have Eric file for permits. Other items like the leak over the garage turned out to be a less costly fix than we were expecting. As a result, the overall cost of the job still came in very close to what we ourselves had originally estimated it would run. Add in the fact that the new kitchen lighting makes the natural color of the existing cabinets so much richer-looking that we were able to avoid the $2,500 cost to paint them, and we actually came out ahead in our overall budget, which included several other items.. One thing we noticed is how efficiently Eric and his team of Shawn, Andrew, Robert and Dougie work together. They clearly like each other, and the workers respect Eric. By the end of Day 3, most of the smaller jobs had been completed and the kitchen ceiling lighting boxes were in place. By the end of Day 5 everything was finished, including an extra two days without additional cost to us to get the ceiling appearance to meet our expectations. The finished wiring job on the new breaker box was literally a work of art. Throughout the assignment, whenever a question arose that the team members couldn’t answer, Eric would be there to deal with it, usually within the hour. Bottom line, if you’re looking to have a lot of things done fast and well, and don’t have the time to serve as the general contractor on each individual piece, Eric Clamage of One Stop Home Repairs is the person to call.
Description of Work: Redesign, remove and replace existing kitchen ceiling lighting with nine new Juno tungsten fixtures, replace stair mechanism to attic, repair rotted exterior door and window trim, install blower/vent in bathroom, repair leak over garage ceiling, and fix hole in the attic where an animal tried to get in.

the owner Eric is great. He is honest, trustworthy and fair. I had a number of things to work on and he offered advice on what was most essential to do first on my budget and what could wait - even though it cost him some business in near term. Very good pricing and when additional work came up during the job the add on price was very fair. They came on time and did the work promptly although it did take longer than the original estimate. His painter is meticulous. The only issue was the fencing material quality. Installation was good but the home depot fencing is poor. In retrospect I would have evaluated the materials portion of the bid in more detail before committing.
Description of Work: Installed new roar and vents, installed new privacy fence, touch up paint on exterior, interior painting, installed new window, installed new electric heaters and thermostat, other miscellaneous electric
I initially called Eric for an estimate on cleaning and staining the deck. He returned my call almost immediately and came by the same day to look at the job. When I met him, I discovered that he could fix alot of other little problems that have been on my to-do list for a long time. That evening, he emailed me a detailed and clearly written proposal. He got his team of 5 organized and started the work within 2-3 days, exactly as promised. The one-stop repairs concept was the best part for me. It would have taken me weeks to find, get estimates and schedule the variety of workers I needed, not to mention having to reorganize my own schedule when the work was done. The stone mason, carpenter, powerwasher, and 2 painters all did great jobs. All the work was done in 3-4 days. Eric was frequently on site supervising, inspecting the work, and bringing food to the team. The powerwasher inadvertently cleaned more of the house than was proposed, but Eric did not charge me for it. He also fixed a small problem with an outdoor faucet gratis, saving me a call to a plumber. His time estimates were right on the money. I appreciated his professionalism and the speed at which the work was done. He takes pride in his work and makes sure that his workers do an excellent job. I recommend him for all of your maintenance problems.
Description of Work: (1) Refaced appox 1' x 20' of my falling apart brick porch patio, repointed bricks, and re-stuccoed porch foundation. (2) Replaced a small section of rotted clapboards and trim and applied primer. (3) Sprayed mildew killer and cleaning agent and powerwashed 3/4 of the house. (4) Applied mildew killer and cleaning agent, powerwashed, and applied 2 coats of sealer/stain to a 14' x 44' deck.
Eric showed up promptly to give me an estimate within a couple hours of contacting him through Angie's List -- refreshingly punctual. I suffered storm damage to my screened-in porch and the rotted wood sills and framing were in pretty bad shape. I also had some areas in my back yard where stockade fencing had to be extended. He gave me an estimate, in fact a RANGE of estimates based on how much work I could afford to get done (he estimated a few other odd jobs as well). Eric and his 2-man team showed up on the day they promised, worked furiously throughout the day (without making a mess!) and finished both the fencing project AND the porch project to perfection in about 2 and a half days. In fact, Eric's carpenter Andrew is a particular talent -- very proud of his work, and it shows. The team went above and beyond, helping me by sanding and even doing some light painting that was needed to make the porch complete. I will definitely use these guys again, and I would highly recommend them to anybody.
Description of Work: Repair storm-damaged screened-in porch, replace rotted sills and framing with no-rot materials, extend stockade fencing in two areas of my back yard.

Well, Eric did get the generator working again, and he added an on/off switch, which it didn't have before. Unfortunately, after a little more than a year, the switch no longer works. The generator was supposed to be sitting on a concrete pad, but that was never provided. The new enclosure he built is a joke. It is not level and was obviously not built with exterior grade materials, as it started to warp within a month. I called about the warping and I never heard back from him. This is not someone who stands behind his work.
Description of Work: Relocate a generator, build a new enclosure for it and get it working again.

Response from One Stop Home Repairs
Well, first of all, the unit was supposed to be put on concrete block (which we did) and not a concrete pad. Secondly, he did not want to spend more than $200 on an enclosure (which was built from T111 exterior plywood). It should be noted that the $600 repair included getting the unit started (it had not run for several years), serviced and operational. It also included relocation to the other side of the house which included all electrical work and new wiring. A new battery ($100) was also included in the price. The generator did not have an ignition switch or started button when I started working on the unit and all of these items were included as well. So now, over a year later, the member compains because the starter button broke and the cheapo enclosure he had us supply warped. I suggested getting an exterior garbage container to use as an enclosure ($400) or an actual acoustical enclosure ($1000) but he went the cheap way out. Funny how nothing was said about the other $3000 work of carpentry work we did to his satisfaction.
Overall: thorough work. The owner, Eric Clamage, is an industrial engineer by training with years of corporate experience behind him. He's very thorough, professional and caring about his customers. He is also a perfectionist and will inspect his crew's work end of the day and redo anything he's unhappy with. Eric and his team are cheery and friendly at all times. He has on tap a wide range of team members - plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, etc. So you get the full package: One Stop Home Repairs is an apt name for his business. We're happy with the work done. Be prepared however, that when Eric comes in, he and his team will go deep. They will do more than merely fix a leak in your ceiling. They will get to the source of it and the job could become bigger than you expected. So although you pay more than you planned, you get the comfort of knowing they took no shortcuts, nor are they lackadaisical about what they do. One area of feedback to Eric's team is to improve punctuality. On more than one occasion they were late and made us wait and readjust our schedules. We feel we got our money's worth and would be happy to work with Eric again....
Description of Work: 1. Redid entire upstairs deck 2. Fixed ceiling leak in room below deck and repainted wall 3. Replaced exhaust fan in guest bathroom 4. Installed exhaust fan in another bathroom 5. Replace toilet bowl in guest bath 6. Replaced entire floor tiling in same bath before installing toilet 7. Installed new water filtration system for entire house

To refer to Mr. Clamage as a "handyman" is almost an insult. Not to take anything away from the many good handymen in this world, however, that title does not justify the depth of his knowledge surrounding home improvement. After doing much research, I came across his website which instantly caught my attention. "We Fix Everything but Broken Hearts," was a very clever, and catchy phrase. I called him regarding my many concerns, and he was prompt when he arrived to the house to do a walkthrough. He listened intently to me, then he explained my options, and gave scientific reasons behind the materials he wanted to use. I was blown away by his breadth of knowledge. In addition, his pricing was extremely, and I want to emphasize, extremely reasonable. Prior to starting the job, he dropped off materials to the house, and walked around the house with me again. The next day, his crew came to work, and it was non-stop. Mr. Clamage supervised, but also joined in on the repairs. Everything was completed the same day. When I arrived home, I called him to thank him for the exceptional work, and I am having him come over tomorrow to look at other projects. Not too many "handymen" can mount a flat-screen tv, along with the cable and accompanying Sony Playstation 3 system.
Description of Work: I wanted the driveway resealed, the bricks along both sides of the driveway reset and reinforced, the hinges on the entrance door replaced, and the rotted wood around the chimney taken down and replaced with new material.

Eric is "The Man". With vast experience working with sophisticated production systems around the world, Eric brings his straightforward good-humored, let's just get it done, approach to problem solving. I observed thorough planning, efficient use of materials and deep knowledge of what material to use for what job. I cannot give a higher recommendation to anyone I have ever work with over my 40 years of home ownership.
Description of Work: Diagnosed and remedied water problems on three external masonry decks. Found and repaired leak in kitchen window that for other contractors have been unable to fix. Designed and implemented a system to increase water pressure in the entire house. Fix the ice-maker in my refrigerator. I was just about to buy a new refrigerator because five other service agents had been unable to repair the ice-maker. Sanded and refinished my 13-year-old wooden front door to look as new.

Walls and trim painted kitchen, bathroom, 2 bedrooms and entryway; new 6-panel doors installed and painted multiple rooms; new colonial moulding put up at baseboard and around doors and painted; new closet bifold doors installed and painted; 3 new lights installed, refrigerator with ice/water dispenser installed, and a few more things that don't come to me right now.

Excellent job overall - I wasn't specific about which sections of sidewalk to do so needed to bring them back for the additkonal sections. I also used the wrong term for what I wanted done to the windows - I said repoint vs. reglaze, but in the end decided to do that myself as it involved a lot of coming in and out of house to open and close windows. Anyhow house looks much better, is much sounder and they did a lot with such a messy bunch of miniprojects - again, excellent job overall.

Response from One Stop Home Repairs
Well, there certainly was a misunderstanding here. The member asked me to give an estimate to paint 2 rooms. The contract was signed and I sent my painter over to do the work (3 to 4 days). Upon his arrival, I was informed that 5 rooms needed to be painted and that he was moving in the house in 2 days. So I sent another crew in (from an associate) to do the work and yes it was done fast and yes I was not happy with the final quality as was the homeowner. The member did not tell the entire story as I sent a crew back in to the house and made all repairs to his satisfaction. Personally, the issue was the members wife was not happy as he neglected to advise when he needed the work done and how many rooms were to be painted and the timeframe. Basically, he caught heck so we caught heck.

Overall it was a positive experience. I was very happy to find this company, because they handle the whole range of issues in home repair all in one shop. Eric came to our house and we started with the largest of our issues, but I quickly found he could answer questions I have had about smaller issues - a leak here, problem trim there, how to make the basement bone dry, driveway issues, etc... He found problems I didn't know about but which would have been much more expensive to fix had we let it go on, including a significant amount of rot on the wood trim which was clear to see once you poked your finger in. He diagnosed the reason the rot was occurring and proposed sensible solutions. He has people who subcontract with him that he has known through the years, who he likes to work with and who work well together. They were responsive and quick and I felt confident they were doing good quality work. The carpenter did a great job with a door, window, and trim replacement. It all looks and feels perfect. He was a quick and steady worker. The painter was a great guy who would have redone the whole house to make it perfect if he could have. He agonized over details beyond the scope of our project that he wished he could have fixed. He also fixed little things around the outside of the house that I'm still discovering, which we were not charged for. I liked these workers very much. Something did go wrong at one point with property damage that at first I thought was going to end up blowing the whole experience. When I discovered the problem I wondered whether I had been wrong with my positive feeling about this group. However, when I called Eric to ask him what happened, he was clearly concerned that everything ended up right. He got back to me quickly, and did everything right to make sure it was all ok in the end, which it was. They even came back after the whole job was done and after I had paid them, to make sure our gutters were caulked properly after we could observe them in rain, and they did not ask to be paid for additional time. I think many companies are not so responsible about their work after they had a check in hand. Eric wants the customer to be satisfied with the work that was contracted and he follows through on that. I recommend this company.
Description of Work: Replaced sliding glass door, garage door plus opener, garage window, wood trim all around outside of house as well as painted it, rehung and caulked gutters, power washed surfaces that required it, replaced columns on front porch area, caulked/sealed an area of basement where water was entering, installed landscape ties around children's play area, removed limbs from trees that were hitting house, removed small tree from the middle of children's play area.

Roof around chimney was leaking and the cap had blown off; Eric answered right away when I called and he and his workman came the very next day as promised. He gave me the quote over the phone and, said it would require resealing the flashing around the chimney. the necessary repairs were a bit more extensive, as it turned out; the flashing had never been nailed down, and another roofline seam had never been properly sealed; he explained at length what he had found, what it needed and performed the work neatly and quickly, including replacing the chimney cap, charging exactly what he had quoted over the phone.
Description of Work: Roof around chimney was leaking and the cap had blown off; needed to have the metal cap re-secured and the source of the leak found and sealed; existing flashing was also nailed down, after first inspecting wood under shingles for signs of rot.

The job went smoothly. I gave Eric the key and his guys did the work on a rainy Friday morning. The original quote for the job was $800, but Eric knocked it down after I agreed to pick up the necessary materials. Plus, his guys were in the middle of a roofing job and couldn't work on a rainy day, so he made a deal for some side work. They told me it was a tough job, but the doors look and work great!
Description of Work: One Stop removed two old exterior entry doors and installed new doors which were already purchased. This included removing molding, dealing with screen doors and aluminum siding, as well as replacing the older base wood.
There were lots of odd jobs which our previous handyman had not taken care of. This is an old house, dating from 1860 with the newest part built in 1920. A quotation, rather than an estimate, was provided with the understanding that there might be some additional labor required once the contractor tackled the roofing. A number of the repairs were related to a wind storm in which a tree split and fell on the house. The work was done promptly and efficiently. The whole job(except for painting which had to wait until the weekend when it was warmer) was finished in two days by a crew of three. By the way, the carpenter really knows his stuff and is first rate. These guys worked late, until well after sundown. Extra materials were required for the roof, plumbing, and electrical jobs. For example, fixtures which were corroded had to be replaced. However, there was no charge for additional labor. In addition, they repaired the mortar on one chimney at no charge. One detail to be aware of is that this contractor does require a deposit for all materials and one half of labor up front. Given the current economic climate, this is probably not too unreasonable.

Well theres a new one.
