+ 0 moreThe work went extremely well. Adie had to reschedule as we had no power for the day originally planned due to Hurricane Sandy. When we did get power back Adie was extremely flexible and got to us in a few days. the job was very difficult and took a bit longer than expected as the sub floor was very un-level and required lots of additional customization to get it done correctly. The floors look amazing, especially when other installers told me that they wouldn't even try to install the hardwood and suggested we re-level the sub-floor at the cost of over $1000. We have several more projects that we want to do over the next year or so and will definitely be call Adie!
Description of Work: Adie installed hard wood floors for me in the hallway in my upstairs. He did all the custom cuts, laid the floos with nails, installed the quarter round and did custom work on several doorways and the top of the stairs as the floor levels in the bedrooms are above that of the hallway floor.

It was well worth the price to take care of things that I have not had the time to do. He quickly put a credenza together that probably would have taken me an entire day to do and it is put together well. I would recommend him to anyone needing a handyman for the day as well as for other projects. I may use his services again in the near future.
Description of Work: I hired Adwan as a handyman for the day. I had several tasks taken care of including changing lighting fixtures, clean gutters, cut ivy away from house, assemble new furniture and dismantle old furniture, and change toilet seat.

+ -1 moreAdie took measurements so that we could purchase what we needed at the lumber yard. He asked me to accompany him so that I could give my input on the materials which I gladly did. Adwan removed the pieces of rotting wood on the door and other areas. He cut the replacement wood to fit those areas and installed it.
Description of Work: Adwan was very prompt in returning my emails and phone calls. We have a shed that is need of some carpentry repairs- door, fascia board, and trim. We responded to a special through Groupon. Adie will be returning soon to finish the project as there was more work than he could address in one day. The work thus far has been very good. He has been quite easy to work with.

+ -1 moreMr. Adwan was at my home right when he said he would be, worked very hard for the duration of the agreed upon jobs and was fine with my requests. I couldn't have been more pleased. Not only did he listen to my requests carefully and honor them, he was willing to go out of his way to do things that most likely made his job somewhat harder to complete. He offered good suggestions to some looming problems to tackle in the renovation of our kitchen in an old house with much more reasonable ideas than some of the companies trying to sell us everything in a package deal and I greatly appreciated that as well! As someone who has dealt with independent contractors/tradespeople and at one time being a "jill of all trades", I would be more than happy to recommend Mr. Adwan as a reliable handyman. I will be calling him again for future work as a result of this experience.
Description of Work: Mr. Adwan did two jobs for me. First he dismantled walls and framing surrounding a no longer used brick chimney and then he took down the chimney. He had to work in a very tight space at first and was very careful not to disturb pipes and electric wires that were found between the chimney and the wall. I wanted to reuse the brick so he not only saved as much brick as he could, he even tapped off a lot of the cement from them and carted them to a spot in my yard that I designated and put them there. He even saved the clay tiles that lined the interior of the chimney for me! The second job was to pull up an old vinyl floor and it's uneven plywood subfloor in a way that wouldn't damage the underlying solid wood plank floor so that it could be sanded and finished. He did this very carefully and methodically with very few "saw through" marks to the underlying floor. Once we discovered that the floor has had some places where the existing planking had been removed long ago, he came up with a very fine plan to remove the spacer boards and replace them with pieces from the original flooring where cabinets would cover the rearrangement. (He has not done this yet, it is a future days work) When taking up the floor he was excellent at removing the subfloor from around pipes still in the floor and from under existing wall tile! This was no easy task. The jobs he did really required two people due to the nature of the work and the resulting hauling/clean up. He asked if I would like him to bring an assistant, and I asked if I could be the other helper. He didn't have any problem with this and was very courteous and respectful at all times-even though I am sure I was not as quick as his own helper would have been.

+ 1 moreThe handyman, Adwan, came to my home on two occasions. He was prompt, polite and friendly, and seemed to take pride in the quality of his work. For example, he made the effort to smooth out the final coat of drywall plaster, so to minimize the amount of sanding I would need to do before painting the area. (I chose to complete the project by priming and painting the affected area myself.) I would definitely contact Adwan again for any handyman work i might need done in the future, and I have already recommended him to a couple of my neighbors.
Description of Work: The frame of a old closet in my dining room was removed and the opening was covered with drywall and plastered. The baseboard trim was removed and replaced with a longer board. Three dead-bolt locks were installed in my doors.

Was in the process of hooking up our new gas stove but spotted a hairline crack and notified us right away. This is a serious safely issue and he quickly found where to order the replacement part. Hardwired in our dishwasher into what was a standard outlet. All that at a great price! When we are ready to install our sink/garbage disposal/water purifier we'll call him again for sure.

He worked the whole time and did not waste a second of time. I have already recommended him to two of my friends who needed work done. They were just as pleased.
Description of Work: Remodeled bathroom. He did the sheet rock, tiled ceiling, built stairs, siding, closet, fencing repair, added a new gate to the fence and did some much needed yard work. He also installed a window and cut a doorway into the existing bathroom.

He is courteous, punctual, a hard worker and a very nice person. So far I have used him for smaller jobs related to the fact that I moved recently, but I would not hesitate to hire him for a larger project.
Description of Work: On this job he moved a couple of light fixtures and installed a chandelier, installed a dimmer switch on the same circuit, repaired some storm damaged siding, corrected installation errors on a couple of major appliances, modified a large wall unit to turn it into a media cabinet and strung the coax cable to it. This is the second time he has done work for me. The first time was as a subcontractor and his work at that time was excellent also.

Description of Work: Adie started by fixed an ugly hole created by a roof leak. Then he primed and painted it, and tracked down a special product to seal our popcorn ceiling. Now you can't even tell there was ever a hole there. We were so happy with that first job that we asked him to fix all the other little drywall problems around the house; split tape, chipped spackle, nail pops, and stains. He's also installing an oak cap on the balcony railing above our living room.
