Description of Work: CertaPro painted the main floor of our new home's interior. They prepped the walls and ceilings (skim-coat and primer), which were in pretty bad shape, then painted the walls, ceilings, and trim throughout the main floor of our home. They also cleaned up when they were finished. | |The sales rep., was responsive and seemed to know what he was talking about. He completed the estimate fairly quickly, requiring only about 30 minutes or so in the house taking measurements (on a Saturday, no less), and getting the estimate to me two days later, on Monday. We also received a 10% "snow-on-the-ground" discount. A few days later, when we modified the work request, he very quickly (within one business day) updated the estimate for us. | |His estimate was less than half of the other two local estimates we received. | |The crew was great. The foreman worked his crew's schedule around us, did all the set-up and clean-up I'd expect, and did a B+/A- job painting, as well. (There were a couple of small spatters of wall paint on our white trim in one room.) He was a super nice guy who obviously knows his stuff, and he made it very clear that making us happy was his top priority. | |The only issue we had was something that was at least partly our fault: Due to some vague wording in the contract, some of the trim in the house wasn't painted. Re-reading the contract, I saw that there was wiggle room and they weren't technically breaking the contract, but I also know that during the walkthrough with the sales rep. I stipulated that the skipped trim was supposed to have been painted. Regardless, we should have caught it at the contract signing. Lesson learned. Our interaction with CertaPro while we straightened this out was purely professional, though. Everyone was completely pleasant to work with. | |If partial grades were allowed on this site, I'd have given them a B+ or A- overall. Since the foreman was so great to work with, I gave them the benefit of the difference and oonched it up to an A. | |I'd definitely work with these folks again.

+ -1 moreMinimal scraping was performed, and window puttying was done by finger so it came out very rough. Service matched the price, so overall I'm not upset. Other services that provided higher quality would have cost a lot more. However, the window puttying wouldn't have taken them that much more time to do right.

Description of Work: The painters scraped off loose paint, sanded some areas and put on a fresh coat. The team was friendly and polite and worked hard to get the house painted. I would definitely use them again. | |My only complaint - a few days after they finished the job I noticed that they had painted the screens on our porch shut. I called the manager/owner Dave and he said they were still in the area and would be out to fix it in a day or two. No one ever came out. A week later I got a call from the company asking about my experience. I mentioned that they were supposed to come out to fix the screens and they said they would contact Dave and remind him. It's now December and they never came back.

+ 0 moreThis was a great experience. They are a bit expensive but they arrived when they said they would. They are very professional and very polite. A supervisor checked in both days with the painters and with me. The painters were meticulous and the paint job looks wonderful. We wiould definately use them again.

Our major criticism stems from the fact that the contractor and we knew that one large window unit needed replacement, but the contractor forgot to get the company's carpenter alerted until the exterior painting had already begun resulting in a delay getting the window replaced, and getting the painting completed.

+ -1 moreThey were there when they said they would be and they finished ahead of schedule. The only thing that bothered me was they didn't leave any paint when I asked them to. I did talk to the manager and he arranged for some to be brought to me. The one individual that I dealt with was very professional.

+ 0 moreI had a bad experience with them. The painter that they sent was unprofessional and left us in a mess. I contacted the owner and he came out and he tried and asked the painter to redo the areas that we had complained about. We actually ended up cleaning a lot of the mess which he reimbursed us for. Somebody else had to come out and do the woodwork. It was not a happy experience. My complaint and recommendation to the owner of that franchise was that they needed to do some quality control and come out and observe what the painters are doing. They did give a lot of rebate. They had to come and had rework.

+ -1 moreThe sales rep was good, but the quality of the actual work was amateurish. They painted debris (leaves) into the trim, they got paint all over the glass, they dripped paint on our granite countertops, they applied paint unevenly to surfaces, they left large drips on the casings. These folks were not professional quality painters.
Description of Work: This contractor was hired to paint several interior walls where construction work had been recently done, as well as trim on new doors and windows.

+ -1 moreThey insisted on starting a week before I was ready for them--the carpenter hadn't finished repairs yet. They let paint chips blow everywhere, including the street. They broke the one original shutter on the house by scraping and powerwashing too hard. They broke my fence and still deny doing it. They left the two rakes I loaned them outside in the elements instead of leaving them on my porch for me to put away. They broke several stems off of my blooming Hydrangea. The contact person refused to call me despite repeated messages left for him to do so--responding with e-mails instead. They never finished the power wash and expect me to allow them to keep the money I deposited for the job.
Description of Work: We never got past the power wash. Supposed to begin on Monday but don't show up until Wednesday. I missed a day of work to be home when they were supposed to start on that Monday.
