Description of Work: They stepped up when another mover failed to show up. They came in on a Sunday. They helped pack the large and fragile items. They disassembled furniture as necessary. They loaded out of a three story townhouse and transported it 1,350 miles. They stored it for 2 weeks. They delivered it in the rain on the appointed day. They did not set anything up at the destination, but they hauled it up 24 steps. They maintained a cheerful disposition and helpful manner throughout.

Description of Work: This was a move from CT to NC. Everyone from Gil the estimator, to Chelsea the move coordinator, to John the driver, to the load team and the delivery team were friendly yet professional. They were punctual, careful and efficient. The driver kept me informed of where my items were and arrived at our new home right on time. The delivery team went out of their way to place several large items in locations that were difficult to fit them into. I can't say enough good things about the entire company. The price was appropriate, and after several weeks, when I was finished unpacking all of my belongings, they returned and took away all of my packing materials and debris. I have heard many horror stories about interstate moves, but that was not my experience. If a move could be described as "pleasurable ", this was it, and Shepard's and Mayflower made it so.

 + -1 moreDefinitely would use them again and recommend them highly. The person who led the packing crew also drove our goods to GA and managed the local unpacking crew. Outstanding. We've moved long distance several times and these guys protected our furniture better than anyone else ever had.
Description of Work: Shepard's is a Mayflower agent located in Bethel CT. This move was nearly 900 miles and they performed flawlessly.

Description of Work: I became a member because finding a moving company is a stressful experience. When I read the reviews that Shepard's is reasonable and provided great service I gave them a call. Shepard's was the fourth moving company that came to the house for an estimate. This is a local move from Hamden to Milford, they gave an estimate that was $1,600 more than the previously highest estimate. $3,800 are they nuts?

 + -1 moreThe move went great. The 2 workers were very professional, polite and did the job very well. The problem was getting the quote. It took several days and I had to call several times and then the quote was incorrect. But the moving job itself was great and so I would recommend them.

Description of Work: Called them for an estimate to move some equipment and an office..slow to react, estimator came over, was disinterested, said he would call with an estimate, never heard from him again despite leaving a message to follow up. Don't know if the whole company is not terrific or if it was just a bad employee, or what?, that's just how it happened happened..

 + 0 moreThey were wonderful. That's how I got onto Angie's List because I was having such a nightmare trying to find somebody else. I checked with four other companies and their prices were just wacky. I think the way they operate was kind of questionable. But this company was absolutely wonderful. They gave us the best deal. The person that I dealt with was Tom Burke. The company is terrific so I would highly recommend them. I would absolutely give them A's across the board.
Description of Work: I am using Shepard's, Inc (a Mayflower agent) for moving. So far, our things are packed and in storage.

 + -1 moreShepard's/Mayflower did a great job - picked up on time and helped my wife prepare/pack remaining fragile items while I was in CA. Our belongings arrived on the day promised (day after closing of our new house) and the crew did a great job unloading - quickly and no breakage. All in, was a great experience especially considering the distance we moved.

 + -1 moreThey moved the storage unit and condo on different days per my request. They were on time both days and worked hard until the job was completed. They did some damage to a new paint job, however they took ownership and paid my painter to fix the damage.
Description of Work: Moved contents of 6x10 storage unit and a 1,200 square foot condo to a new condo in the same town.
