Al met with me as scheduled and inspected the attic and basement. He determined that it was not an infestation and provided suggestions on how to remedy the situation myself. because of how major my issue was it took awhile for all the ants to be eliminated... in time they were all gone - one year later the carpenter ants have not returned.

Al came out within a day of our calling him. Took care of the problem and charged a very fair price. But that doesn't adequately capture why we will always turn to Bethwood for help with any kind of pest problems, just as we have a number of times over the years. Al is always quick to respond; he'll take pains to get back to you if you phone and leave a message, and he will do his very best to come soon. He is a first-rate professional, able to identify problems and come up with solutions, whether the issue is rodents or insects. He is also someone of great integrity. A couple of weeks ago, I asked him to come because I had heard squirrels running while working in my study, which had once been the attic. I feared they had gained entry into the area between the ceiling and the roof. Al came out within two days of my call, checked for possible entry points around the edge of the roof and at the vents at either end of the house (which workmen had supposedly sealed carefully with wire mesh several years ago). The upshot was that Al determined that there was no way for squirrels to have entered and the noise was almost certainly just sound carried from squirrels scampering in our acorn-laden gutters. When I asked him what I owed for his services, he told me there was no charge. When I tried to insist on paying -- after all, he had arranged his schedule to meet our need and spent time checking around the house -- he still refused, saying another call had brought him near our neighborhood. I don't care what the profession or trade: there aren't many like Al any more. We recommend him to everyone we know in the neighborhood.

Al was wonderful, very friendly, competent, clearly concerned about the well-being of pets and people, which is a big plus, so the pest elimination process was as environmentally friendly and yet effective as we could've wished.

He is an excellent exterminator. He is very thorough and professional with the work that he does. He walked me through the entire process explaining what was being done. He is very knowledgeable of his profession.

Everything went positively and the ants were completely gone within a few days. The moths we were able to address on our own thanks to Al's advice.

Al was very easy to work with. He was on time, very professional and honest. We are currently selling our home in Milford and during the buyers inspection termite damage was found. Al came out, did an inspection and determined based on his professional opinion that this was very old termite damage and wouldn't recommend getting the house treated. In September we found termites in our garage. We contacted several contractors and ultimately chose Bethwood. We chose them because Al the owner was very knowledgeable, he explained every option available to us and his price was very competitive. The work was done in a day and we were pleased with the results. A short time later we discovered a small area that might need further attention so we contacted Al and left message to ask his opinion. House is in wooded area and exterior seldom dries fully. Have experienced severe ant problems in the past and obvious ant presence in July. The fellow from Bethwood said he had to spray ONLY outside. Spray was not toxic to humans, animals. He would repeat treatment as often as needed for the next year. I doubted that this was possible, agreed he should spray, and said I would call him when damaged wood was removed, but repairs were pending. In October, my contractor and I were astonished when we discovered no insects, nests, eggs or any sign of continuing infestation. The repairs took 3 weeks. No bugs. I don't know how this worked, but it did. Yesterday I called asking him to call me in the spring for a service contract.. No matter how much this costs, It is extremely cost effective!

He came out quickly, only two days after I called. He was very good at his job, and we would use this company in the future.

Everything worked out really well. They were very polite, informative and showed up on time. They tried to call quickly. Overall, it was a positive experience. We didn't have high expectation. They resolved the issue. The first visit wasn't sufficient but he did a pretty good job. He did have to come back for a follow up but it wasn't unexpected because he told me. It seemed like a high price but the results were positive. He also offers a yearly followup on a discounted rate so I appreciate it. He gave me some tips to try to resolve the issue on my own first and said that if I couldn't that he would be glad to come out and it just worked out very well and I appreciated the fact that he allowed me to take care of it. That tells me something about the character of this particular provider. He's like an honorable person. He's good for his word and beyond that.

after reading several reviews of businesses capable of handling pests, i contacted al and he got back to me right away. my wife and i were very concerned we may have had termites in the wall near the front door, as we were seeing black insects flying around & could hear bugs making a munching sound through the drywall. i sent pictures to al of the location of the 2 nests, one near the front door & the other in a very awkward location on the 2nd story of the house near a gutter, as well as a strange looking tubular cement structure on the back of my house under our addition. al emailed me back, assuring us he would take a look at it when he came to the house and that he could take care of it. al gave us a window of time between 10-11am. he arrived on time and within minutes determined the 2 nests were not wasps or termites (we were worried & calculating the cost of tearing down a wall), that they were hornets and that he could take care of it. he checked our basement (just in case) for any signs of termites and assured us we had a sound home. he also told us the tubular cement structures on the back of the house were mud dauber wasps and they were harmless and he knocked them down. he said he could spray both nests for $150 and we agreed. relieved we didn't have termites and comforted by al's easy & caring demeanour. it didn't even cross our mind to get a quote with someone else. al was there, and we felt he had a good & trustworthy character about him. i've already referred him to co-workers and i would use ask for his help again should we feel the treat of buggy invaders.

I contacted Bethwood and they were very prompt about giving me a quote (which was more reasonable than others) they went out and completed the job in a timely manner and guaranteed additional treatment should they be required. He also provided me with information about the chemicals he would be using, and was very good about working with my schedule since someone needed to be in the house when he did the treatment. This was my first vendor with Angie's List and I was impressed!

We called on a Sunday evening, Monday by noon time we had a return phone call from Al, who is the owner and we set up time and day for him to come out and look at our problem, and give us estimate. He came out within 2 days and told us that we did have termites but we caught it early. He went over everything with us and explained what he would need to do. He gave us a written estimate, and said for us to get other estimates if we wanted too. He didn't pressure us to go with him or try to convince us that he would be the cheapest or the best. He was very professional and a pleasure to work with. We didn't get any other estimates, because the other company didn't even return our phone call. We felt really good about Al and his company that we went ahead and called him and had him take of the problem. He even offered to come back and respray the front door area where we found the termites, (free of charge) after we get the door fixed, just to make sure that they are all gone. We will be using Bethwood Pest Elimintion in the future, for all our pest control. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone who needs pest control. Great Job, Great Company.

We saw a few ants and wanted to get our house checked. Al came right out and did a thorough inspection for carpenter ants and termites. He determined that the house was sound and free of termites. He suggested a "wait and see" approach for the ants since he didn't see any activity. He could have told us anything and we would have paid to have treatments done. It is rare to find a knowledgeable, honest vendor such as this and we couldn't have been happier with Al's service. I highly recommend him for any pest control problems.

We had carpenter ants all over our house: in the kitchen, living room, basement, bedroom, bathroom, in the walls, everywhere. We tried HomeDefense, but it only reduced the problem for a few days. I'm talking ten to twenty ants showing up out of the walls at a time. Bethwood came out, explained everything, and did the job. We saw two, maybe three ants after that. It was extremely thorough, and extremely satisfying. We live right on the edge of the woods, and I still see ants twenty to thirty feet away from our house, but they haven't been back inside. The year-long guarantee of additional follow-up visits if needed gives us real peace of mind, and we will surely have him come out next year again to freshen up. I like that it's a service call to renew, not an automatic visit and bill like you hear about with other places. Couldn't be happier.

Call Al. You won't be disappointed. He came out and looked at the termites that I found in the flowerbed 10 feet from my house and then inspected my basement for any signs of damage. Within 5 minutes he told me not to be concerned - there was no damage, nor was their likely to be with such an old house like mine. He didn't try to scare me about finding termites nearby. In fact, he did the opposite. He assured me that termites are in the soil - that's what they do. But there was no reason to install any preventative system. Just move some of the mulch away from the foundation and i'd be good. Refreshingly honest. Great to deal with. I would definitely recommend calling Al for your pest needs. Highly recommend

Al was terrific. In fact, the treatment he did initially (3 weeks ago) seems to have taken care of the problem. (We found a dead mouse near the basement entry/exit point Al had secured and otherwise have had no more evidence of any kind of the presence of mice in the house. My wife and I were very impressed that he charged us nothing for coming out on a weekend and spending half an hour checking all the places where he had set bait or we had observed mouse activity in the past. (The follow-up visit was part of what we had paid for three weeks earlier, he explained.) He is a knowledgeable and honest professional, whose charges for his service have been eminently fair. His good cheer -- and gentle sweetness towards our dog, who now thinks he's a great buddy -- only enhanced his fine service.

Scheduling was fine and there no problems. They were a reputable company to work with.
