Given that the job was performed months ago and the problem has not come back, I would say the issue was fixed. We had another plumber address the leak in 2009 and the leak was back 2 years later. I think Matt's work is likely to hold up because did not repeat what the other plumber did, and what I had also done, push wax into the opening.. Matt immediately suggested and installed a flange underneath the wax ring that was at least 2 inches deep. this bypassed the opening. this is what I had hoped the other plumber would do.

Matt did a great job for us and is very responsive! I got several quotes to move some plumbing in the kitchen, reduce the size of a radiator, put in a new radiator in kitchen (and take out old one), install water line for new fridge, and change shower valve from double to single. He was the cheapest by far and even upgraded my shower faucet to a nice Delta at no additional charge! He also came out again a few days later (with only a few hours notice) to shut the water main and remove some water valves in kitchen for the contractor who is installing our kitchen cabinets at no charge. We will definitely be using him again to install kitchen sink/dishwasher/garbage disposal. Highly recommend to others!

we were happy with him , very nice. At the end of the visit though , he told us that there was normally a fee for the estimate and that if he did the job, it would be credited to the price - but he then said that since he didn't tell us in advance, he would wave the estimate fee - please ask in advance so there will me no surprises

I would suggest anyone considering to replace a shower/bath area to stop considering and get a quote, for the price you'd be surprised at the amount of work and quality. I contacted Matt and two other companies for quotes. One didn't want to get involved with my remodel - I got the impression they didn't like doing jobs that weren't for rich people involving 20,000-50,000 remodels. The other company replied days after I had already emailed, spoken on the phone, met Matt in person and hired him. Matt replied on the weekend when I inquired about it: I had a moldy ceiling from when I bought the house 3 years ago. It was obvious they repainted it repeatedly, so I needed the whole ceiling replaced and properly ventilated to avoid the recurring issue. I also had a pale blue tile floor with light blue veins, then a light blue tile wall in the vanity/toilet area, then a different shade of tile blue on the shower walls, and lastly another shade of blue for the top 1.5 feet of the wall in the shower - so 3 shades of blue that were close enough that the previous owner obviously tried matching them and failed - oh and the spacing was off so the tiles didn't align from one color to the next. Matt came to my house and looked at everything, I told him I wanted the ceiling done, maybe more, it honestly depended on the price. I expected if I were to do everything they did, it would have cost easily 15,000-20,000, which I did not have. He threw out estimates for each thing I was considering, things he seemed confident and comfortable doing. Honestly hearing the cost to do everything, I was skeptical of quality but happily surprised in the end. One thing was good and bad really, my only gripe at that point was I had wanted to move my doorway out an extra foot to put it flush with the hallway - and gain more space for the bathroom - he wasn't comfortable doing it, citing possible code issues/time restraints. But personally I'd rather someone be upfront about a complication than do something they might not do properly. He estimated 7-10 days to complete the job. Day 1 Justin and Brad showed up on time in the morning. They put down tarps from the bathroom to the front door to help avoid a mess. They demolished the whole room, removed all the debris and installed the tub/shower and hooked up the faucets so my family wouldn't be without it. They both did a great job and were very professional - even with the 90+ degree temp's to deal with. Matt was also there, and went over the schedule for everything planned, this was one of the few negative things I could say: the sheet rock people would be for 5-9pm on two nights and the tile guy would be 5-9pm on another night - nothing had been mentioned before hand about possible evening work. All though in his defense, he did ask right then if it would be a problem - preferring to get the job done sooner than potentially later, I went with the evening schedule. The next person to show up was Ralph to do the electrical work, installing a GFI outlet with new wiring and my exhaust fan. Then came the sheet rock guys, Josh and Jessie, making me cringe every time I saw them carry a large panel through my house and around corners - happy to say without accidents. They did a good job as well, installing and spackling everything. The next scheduled day had Mario showing up to do the tiles. He did a great job doing the tiles on the floor and wall, it was very clear he takes pride in doing high quality work. Doing the edging tile at the top, he found a small section of wall that bowed out slightly and left an unsightly step from one tile to the next, just one look at my expression from it and he removed the tile and scraped enough of the wall to make it blend properly. He also sanded the spackled walls and ceiling for painting, and I optioned for doing the painting myself, before everything else was installed. Being a new room essentially, I also replaced my old door and window to give it a complete look. They were kind enough to not laugh too much at my work. Lastly it was Justin and Brad returning to do the final installments, with the vanity/top, mirror, reinstalling the toilet and adding an arced shower rod I purchased. There were minor complications with a few things, but they did a very good job in correcting what was necessary. Shifting the drainage pipe for the sink for example, also having to buy a new faucet since the vanity top I purchased didn't leave enough space for the base of the faucet to fit due to the back splash being too close to the pre-drilled holes. They were not comfortable installing the vanity light I purchased - not being electricians - so it was left for Ralph to return and install. I appreciated the honesty, and more importantly avoiding the house possibly burning down. If you are someone looking for your bathroom to be remodeled, I'd highly suggest you give these guys a chance. Even if you don't want the whole package, if you aren't happy with the shower/bath unit then talk to them about that for starters. In hind sight I would've had partial work done years ago if I had known the cost. Worth noting, Matt was perfectly content to install whatever I supplied, but he did prefer I supply it. In case that might be a factor for someone else, purchasing your own vanity/top, mirror, light, and tiles. I can see why he wouldn't want to be involved considering how much time I spent deciding and returning things until I had settled.
Description of Work: Demolished my old bathroom. Installed a new acrylic bath/shower with faucet. Reinstalled my existing toilet. Installed a new vanity, mirror, light, exhaust fan, and added a GFI outlet. Also tiled the floor and half of the walls.

The project went well. The crew was always on time and were respectful and friendly. Matt kept in touch on a regular basis to keep things running smoothly. The small things that keep me from giving A+ all around are: 1) Cover floor work areas and all fixtures to reduce mess (fine mist paint spatter, caulk, dust). 2) Details matter! Check your work for quality/have a co-worker check too. 3) Report any scratches, dings and dents in materials provided by customer TO the customer BEFORE installing...better unpack everything to be installed WITH the customer (mutual responsibility, giving home owner an opportunity to return blemished it PRIOR to installation). (We used flexible baseboards which do not stick. I would advise using wood.) Things that made me freely give B's: 1) Matt's commitment to not leaving the job until I was happy. 2) I received 4 quotes for the work. Matt's quote was the most reasonable and he was willing to work with me on how to get done what I needed most within my budget. 3) Matt and crew were capable, amicable, flexible and punctual.

Matt, Justin, Brad, and Nate did a fantastic job from start to finish. They demoed the old tile on the walls and the cast iron tub, then carefully hauled it outside. They repaired the plumbing and put in the new shower/tub. The edge of the new shower and sheetrock looked crisp where it met the existing tile still in the bathroom. For a project that created a lot of dust, they did a great job of minimizing it's movement throughout the rest of the house. Their professionalism is definitely appreciated. I am extremely satisfied with the work that Matt's Pro Plumbing did at my house and will be recommending "The Tub Man" to everyone I come across who is in need of a great plumber.
Description of Work: Matt came out to my house early in the month for an estimate. He called 30 minutes prior to arriving, so I knew exactly when to expect him. My house was built in 1928, and the plumbing/shower in the upstairs bathroom needed replacement. Matt showed up on time, explained all of the available options, and gave me a fair price.

After almost a week there is no leak in the bedroom. I am very happy with Matt's work and will definitely call him again when I need a plumber!
Description of Work: I had a water leak in a bedroom which appeared to be coming from the shower in the next room. Also my garbage disposal had stopped working. Matt quickly adjusted the garbage disposal and it worked again, saving me the cost of installing a new one. Then he cut out a piece of the bedroom wall and confirmed the leak was from the shower on/off nozzle. He replaced the nozzle, which required cutting pipes and soldering new pieces. The result is high-quality and very solid. After turning the water back on Matt noticed a small leak coming from a small pinhole in an older piece of pipe. He replaced the piece for free!

I used Matt pro plumbing 2 years ago to replace a water heater and was very satisfied with the work and professionalism, so I called Matt for a sump pump installation. I lived in my house for 6 years and never had water in the basement, but 2 years ago in the spring when we had 21 inches of rain in one week my basement flooded with one inch of water. It happened again this year with only 5 inches of rain! Time for a sump pump! Matt showed up with two trucks and 3 helpers; two years ago he had one truck and a single helper. He's expanding. He says that through recommendations his work has expanded. Well...good for him..he deserves it! Anyway, the work required jack hammerring through the celler floor, excavating a hole 24 inches deep, installing a sump pump, installing a pvc effluent pipe and check valve, mounting and attaching the pipe to the celler wall and through an opening and attaching the pvc pipe to the foundation outside. The sump pump was a 1/3 hp, industrial strength, heavy metal pump and warranteed for 3 years; not like the plastic crap you find at lowes or HD. Matt warants his work installation work for 1 year. After installation we filled the sump with a garden hose which took about 1 min. The sump pump turn on and emptied the sump in less than 5 secs! Nice! While the Jack Hammerring was going on, Justin replaced a faulty shutoff valve in me bathroom sink and dissassemled the cold water faucet removing debris that was impeding flow. NO CHARGE! How can you beat that?!

My mother could no longer turn off the cold water in her 80 year old tub. Due to its age and the fact that my mother was having a difficult time getting in and out of the tub to take a shower, we decided to replace the tub with a walk in shower. Found Matt on Angie's List and he came out and assessed the job and gave us an estimate on the spot. We agreed to have the work done and Matt advised us on when they would be out to do the work. They actually came out earlier, which was great. My mother's house is over 200 years old, so we were a bit apprehensive as to what the workers would find when they started the demo, but they were not deterred by anything. The original tub had to be sledge hammered to pieces to get it out of the bathroom, then they had to build an end wall where before there was none. They added insulation where there was none before. They also had to cut a large section out of the floor because it was quite bowed and then replace it with new boards. They did all this in one day, just the two of them, Justin and Brad (I'm pretty sure I have their names correct!) They hardly even stopped to gulp down lunch! They were so polite and kind to my mother, who is almost 90 years old. I valued that very highly. My mother is very happy with her new shower and ended up having the rest of the bathroom renovated. We are very pleased with the work that Matt's crew did and mom is so glad she went this route and had the walk in shower installed. I took photos that I would have posted if I knew how, but believe me when I say it came out great!!

After more than one poor plumbing job it was quite refreshing to have someone knowledgeable and professional help us out. Justin very easily and quickly assessed the issues and fixed a long term nagging problem that another contractor could not, and because it was so easy didn't even charge me. He replaced a pipe that functions much more efficiently and the kitchen faucet is working perfectly. They were very professional, honest efficient. A great experience all round!

I called Matt on Thursday for a quote to repair or replace the valve for my washing machine, install a shut-off valve for the gas dryer and hook up my new washer and dryer. Matt gave me a detailed quote right on the phone and I went ahead and scheduled the work. He agreed to do the work first thing on the following Monday. Matt called me over the weekend to confirm the appointment. On Monday morning, there was a slight delay due to the snow, but Matt returned my call right away. Justin and another worker showed up and got right to work. They did great work and tested everything before they finished up. Justin walked me through everything they did and made a few suggestions for the future. The price came in right on target with the quote - I thought it was a very fair price for the work. After Justin explained everything, we walked through a few things I wanted quotes on. Justin explained my options for the future work and recommended which were priorities. As he was walking through quotes for the other work, he tightened a few things up under the kitchen and bathroom sinks. I look forward to hiring Matt's company again later this month for more work. It is great finding a company I trust!

I called Matt and explained that I wanted to replace my toilet, but that I was going to fix the subfloor and re-tile the bathroom, so I needed him to do 2 visits. He gave me a fair price to do that, and his work would have gotten him an A rating from me if nothing else was involved. But it turned out that a manufacturer's defect caused a small leak (that's confirmed), for which he came back to fix. He replaced several parts to make sure of the fix, and even returned again to make sure that all was OK. This was 'above and beyond the call', and I'm sure he had no profit involved in this job. Thanks, Matt - will definitely call again.
