 + 1 moreAndy did a fantastic job. He is meticulous and creative. My house had lots of problems once the siding was removed. He addressed each issue or referred me to someone who could do the work (plumber, electrician, etc.) . He was a calm presence as the problems mounted. He always charged a fair price. He is HONEST. Sometimes I forget to ask how much a job will cost because I know he will give me the best price and do the job right. He had the key to my house for the length of the job. I trust him completely. His work is beautiful, he is a talented old-school craftman. I have used him for lots of repairs to this house and a previous house I owned. I am never disappointed!!
Description of Work: He replaced my windows and took down cedar shakes and put up clapboard. He also did repairs as they emerged

I have some thought about the previous workers who apparently installed our roof vent upside down, but I wasn't around when the house was being built (we are the third owner of the home), and don't know who they are. Andy fixed the problems that he could and I am so grateful for his willingness to go and quot;the extra mile.and quot;
Description of Work: We had shingles blow off our roof vent in Hurricane Sandy. I called Andy and he called me back the next morning and came right out. I also asked him to help us with the black streaks on our shingles which are caused by lichen, by installing the zinc strips along the ridge line. Andy got the supplies needed and came back yesterday. He did a great job, fixing mistakes/omissions made by previous roof workers (caulking nail heads) and even cleaned out my dryer vent that extends from the side of the house above my garage! He did a very THOROUGH, careful job on the roof, shingling and spraying to kill the existing lichen, rinsing the spray solution off and installing the zinc strip. I couldn't believe how little it cost me to do this critical repair to our home and have the lichen problem dealt with at the same time. Andy is a very nice, personable man who takes pride in his work. He's neat and organized, RELIABLE and HONEST. I can sleep at night knowing that my roof is sealed and I'm not going to have to deal with water in my attic. I can't thank him enough for coming out. I know that there were a lot of demands on him from the storm damage and people calling him.

Description of Work: Mr Yost could not do the job so he recommend somebody else. The person he recommend was Eric Gilbert Contracting Inc. he is at 135 Hunters Rd Norwich Ct 06360 . Phone No# (860) - 917 - 7698 He was very prompt and polite and also very professional. I would recommend him to any one who like to have a roof done since this is just about all he dose. He was alittle high for my house but I still recommend him.

 + 0 moreMr. Yost gave me a quote for a roof repair and a window replacement. He did exactly what we agreed on, on time and on budget. He and his helper did a fabulous job and cleaned up better than anyone I have used in the past. They were polite and personable, a pleasure to have around my home. The replacement window is great. He figured out a way to repair the window without a major rebuild to the wall. The roof repair looks fabulous and I am confident it will fix the problem. We have had many "repairs" over the last 45 years and I think he has finally solved the problem; fingers crossed. I will use Mr Yost again and again.
Description of Work: A window replacement: on a window where the wall was starting to rot in places. Roof leak: for the past 40+ years. We have tried many different fixes but Mr. Yost found a new source of the problem (the adjacent wall was not flashed properly and had never been. The problem only showed up when we had a westerly, driven rain.) He did not try to sell me a whole new roof. I am impressed. I was all set to replace the roof on the effected area.

He removed snow and ice from the roof and recommended a way to prevent further build up that may cause damage. Charged the quoted price and was very prompt performing the service.

 + 0 moresee above! I was so impressed with the "no charge" despite the fact that he fixed the problem. Also, he was very professional and competent.
Description of Work: Mr. Yost came to give me an estimate...my roof was leaking during heavy rainstorms. He checked everything out and determined that the roof wasn't leaking at all...it was condensation from my central airconditioner. He packed insulation around the area and VOILA...no more "leaks." He didn't charge me a thing. I would DEFINITELY use him again....when I redo my bathroom and kitchen. He is a diamond in a sea of coal.....

 + -1 moreWorked fine until a very big snow fall, and a minor leak reappeared. Andy came back promptly, but the leak was gone - installed a detection system - an now we are waiting for the leak to come back, but it has not.
Description of Work: Performed a repair to a winter snow build-up leak at our garage roof joint with the house. Removed siding and roofing, and installed a new lining, copper roof insert and shingles.
