They do a good job but they're just expensive.

Our water heater stopped working almost exactly when the 10 year warranty expired. I called Avon plumbing to replace the water heater. We had purchase the old water heater from them and wanted the same size. It was a 75 gallon natural gas water heater. They had the same brand and size new model in stock. We scheduled the appointment for two days later since they said they would be able to give me the first appointment of the day (8AM) Around 9:30 AM with no sign of them I called the office. The office manager thought I was the first appointment. She had to call the techs. They decided to change the order of the schedule. It was around 11:30AM when they showed up. Other than that they did a fine job. Very neat, very professional.

Tom and Ian showed up on time, as scheduled. My biggest fear was that the shower head pipe would break off inside the wall since it had not been changed in almost 40 years. Ian, after using WD40 on it, was able to get it off without a problem and put the new one on. Everything works great. Tom did most of the work regarding the neutralizer maintenance and everything went according to plan. They were out of here in about an hour. Great process, from scheduling the work the day before, to completion.

They replaced another KitchinAide dishwasher...NOT needed. It was the detergent that wasn't cleaning, NOT the previous preferred dishwasher. THEY SHOULD HAVE KNOWN! The previous model was preferred.

My first office contact was with Camma. I explained to her that an electric hot water heater that I had purchased 4 years ago from another plumbing company was leaking. She said that sounds like it should be under warranty. She did the research and called me back with a resolution hot line number for me to call to get my prorated coverage. A pleasant surprise. Camma and I talked about getting it replaced and set a date and time to get it done. At my request, Tom arrived on time 2 days later with the new hot water heater. Pretty painless installation. No mess, no leaks with the new plumbing and hot water heater, in and out in about an hour and a half. From what I saw, Tom is very professional and knows what he is doing and is personable as well. Tom and I talked about a couple of other plumbing issues that I need to address in the near future and he said they were things that Avon Plumbing does. I'll be calling soon to make that happen. No one likes to have to replace a hot water heater but Camma and Tom made it easy and I have a warranty check coming in the mail to help offset the cost, thanks to Camma. Great job all around.

They are an A company. If you are in the Farmington area, I would give them a call.

I took measurements and went to the showroom to order a toilet and schedule a date for the install. Great staff at the showroom, easy to work with, knowledgeable. I picked out a toilet that would fit the location and a color match and we set up a date for the install. Peter was the person that installed the toilet and what a job he did. On time, professional and friendly. I had visions of this job being a mess with water all over the place. Not a drop. He had the old one out and new one installed in about an hour and a quarter. I've waited a couple of weeks to write this review to make sure there were no issues. There are none. Peter was also very helpful to me in suggesting how to determine where a leak was coming from around a pipe in my basement that has plumbing connections as well as the vent to my roof. Using Peter's suggestion I was able to determine that the leak was coming from the flashing around the vent pipe on the roof. Next project. Peter also took about ten minutes to fix a leaky faucet in my kitchen. Great job from the day I walked into the showroom to the day Peter left my house. I highly recommend Avon Plumbing and Heating.

The plumber showed up as scheduled, completed his tasks efficiently and professionally. We were very satisfied with the workmanship. The price for labor was on the higher side but we've used their services several times before and feel it's worth it because of the level of quality and service.

The job required 2 hours to complete and their cost for parts could not have been more than $400. A gross overcharge!

I've been using them for 7 years. The quality of work is excellent. They are professional and very knowledgable. They take off their shoes before they come into my house. I've never had a problem with them. If there is a problem, the owner will come out and straight it out at no charge. They are the only plumber I use. They are a little more expensive but I never have to worry about the work.

Relatively new hot water tank failed under warrantee and was leaking on the basement floor. We have been long-time customers of AVPH and were suprised to find we'd be on the hook for the labor to fix this leaking tank. And when I mean on the hook, you're on the hook. $148+ an hour to remove and replace a unit they sold me not too long ago. But. It had to get fixed. Repair person scheduled for an 8:30 AM appointment. I work nights in a ktichen so was a bit suprised when the guy showed up at 7:30 AM banging on the door and hollering and quot;hello? hello?and quot; Pulled myself together to let the guy in. Explained which door I preferred he use to avoid tracking through some other main areas of the house=three times. Then we get down to the basement. Now, I don't have truly convenient access to a water pump out system down there, but this guy wasn't the first to have to deal with the issue. As he scouted his options, he locked in on the closest basement access window available (hey. the house is old. it has its limitations). Of course, despite my specific instruction that the window won't close after opening, he yanks open the onlly basement casement window he thinks will work. And it's that one that is still leaking now because it got and quot;openedand quot;, when it shouldnt have been. But our friendly repair person was far beyond listening to the female homeowener and concerns about older casment windows. Service at all costs, right? Now, I need to be a bit honest here. I don't know this guys' name. That was a small detail he forgot as he barged downstairs to do his job on April 29th. But I do know I got charged for the 20 minute and quot;visitand quot; to my bathroom as he performed his service. Not happy at all. Kicker here? Three days after this idiot visited the house, the heater was leaking on the floor again, Called to get service on this and was greeted with no less than sheer attiitde when I reaquested the original instltaller not be dispatched to fix his sloppy instal Second guy came in and tightened up what should have been done in the first place. Oh. And he located the discarded instruction manual/warrantee information the first guy left hidden. This is definitely my final call to Avon Plumbing and Heating. Very sorry to end a 12 year relationship, but I have no choice.

If you are looking for speedy work this is not the group. But their work is very good and they are very, very responsive to any complaints or concerns and will do everything to make sure the customer is satisfied. They worked around our needs making sure that we always had a working bathroom and trying to minimize the time that we were without laundry facilities. We did have a few issues with work done by the sub contractor however they responded immediately to our concerns and made sure that the all issues were addressed to our satisfaction. We had a contact person (Sheree) who was our point person. She made sure that our concerns and questions were addressed by the plumbers and sub contractors. Avon Plumbing is also very flexible. In the middle of the project, we found ourselves in need of having natural gas plumbed into our kitchen. Then our outside water faucet started spewing water. They quickly took care of both issues

When they said that they could fix something, then show up without the proper parts, so they can't do the job, I don't expect to have to pay for the trip. When I spoke to the owner about this he did not charge me full price but got angry with me on the phone, making it seem like their lack of planning was my fault, although I had been very clear when I made the call what was needed.

Word to the wise - take it slow when using the disposal and be sure to use plenty of water. In any event the service man was polite, cleaned up the mess and most importantly, non critical!

.Some 35 years ago before I could afford a plumber, Jeff an owner, walked me through the whole process of replacing a hot water tank myself. I also purchased the tank and fittings from him. When I tried to purchase a can of 'pipe dope' from him, he gave me an open one to use at no cost and he just said to return it when I was finished. That simple act of kindness I have never forgotten! I have been a customer forever. I also have recommended them to countless friends and neighbors.

It has been over 2 weeks and they have not given us an estimate although they took measurements. I even emailed them with no response. We are Avon residents and had every intention of having them do the work . Extremely surprised that local people would be treated this way. Update: Never received any response to email. However, finally received a quote in mail on May 21, by that time had had several quotes. Their price was the highest. So the bottom line is if you don't care how long you wait and how much you pay, they have a reputation for good work. And really don't know if we ever would have received quote without posting on Angie's List and emails.

They were very quick to come out and do a quote for new boiler and tankless water heater. However, they were not able to provide a solution for heating the garage. They offered to add a hot water tap off the unit but that was it. I would need to contact another contractor to do the garage. He was very personable and answered all my questions. He advised I should recieve the proposal in about a week. However, it took almost 3+ weeks to get his proposal. It only had a few days left before it expired by the time I received it. It was also one of the highest quoted I received out of the 4 contractors I got quotes from.

They have a very good reputation. They have been servicing this area for a very long time and a lot of people use them. They are probably not economical but the value is good. We haven't had any problems with them.

Although a representative came out and promised to get back with a quote I have heard nothing for approx. 2 weeks. Disappointing.

They did a lot of work for me. They are extremely expensive, but they are very good. They are on time. They are extremely reliable. I know the owner. Their strategy seems to be to do the best work and to be reliable which they are. They are always there when I need them and they charge the most by far. If I'm looking for somebody and if I want the work to be done right, I'm willing to pay the top dollar. They are 2 times more than the others in the area. I get what I pay for. I should be able to get them for half the price, but I can't. Therefore, I pay top dollar for them because they are the best. I'll use them again. The quality is excellent. They arrive when they say they will. They match the skills of the workers to the job. For example, they use a different guy to dismantle the plumbing in the kitchen and the bathroom and they use a different guy to install the drain. They are remarkably well organized. Their workmanship is good. Their guys are always neat and clean. They always respect the property and wear little booties. Overall, their work is perfect. Their service and reliability is excellent. The entire operation is excellent.

I'm very pleased with the service. Everything was completed with excellence. Very efficient. Total cost came in at the estimate. Seemed a bit pricey at the time but I chose reputation over price.

I brought in a water sample. They tested it and sent a salesman out. He will be sending a proposal for what we need. He was here right on time. They are local and responsive. They provided the right services for testing the water.

I thought their service was phenomenal. They told me everything was fine with the unit and I did not need to replace it. They told me since they are so close by if I have an issue that will come right over and fix it. I had a quote from another company that I thought was astronomical. So they saved me a lot of money for right now. Their service was top notch. They were timely, honest and professional. They are a good service and I would recommend them.

Not sure how much it cost but it was expensive. They did a good job of keeping in contact with us. They did come the day they said they would. The job was very well-done.
